Chapter Four
Perverts And a New Fledgling?
Alucard rose an eyebrow as he glanced at her. “And this pertains what?” Kagome growled. “If you’ll let me talk, I’ll tell you!” Her voice was sharp as she addressed him. “You god damned knew that there was a higher level freak, even a full blood vampire that would follow us! If Seras and myself hadn’t taken any weapons, that fight that we got in would have been messy…” Alucard knew that there were some freaks lurking around in the city, but he didn’t think that they were so stupid to attack the little miko.
Kagome’s brows furrowed in annoyance as she saw a faint grin on Alucard’s face. “What are you grinning about? This is all your fault you know.” She muttered angrily and she stuck her nose up in the air. “My fault? These freaks are attacking you on their own accord.” He said as he stared down at her. Seras smiled a bit at Kagome’s frustrated look, and tapped her on the shoulder. “Kagome-chan, do you want to go and take a bath? It would be a good idea to get out of these dirtied clothes.” Alucard nodded in agreement as he stared at his fledgling. Kagome looked at Seras like she was a goddess. “Oh thank Kami! I’ve been aching for a hot bath!” She laced her arm with hers, and let her lead the way.
Pulling a door open, Seras grinned at the shocked look on Kagome’s face. “It looks just like a hot spring in here…How?” she whispered softly in amazement. Chuckling, she ushered her companion in and gestured to the extremely detailed walls. “Sir Integra finds it soothing…something that you really wouldn’t know about her unless you really get to know her. She had this room made after a few trips to Japan.”
“This is great!! I’ll be out in well…about an hour or so ok?” Seras nodded and left the large bathroom, leaving Kagome in silence.
Drawing a hot bath, she slowly stripped herself of her clothing and grabbed some scented oils as she stepped slowly into the steaming water. She grinned to herself as she washed herself with a sakura blossom and jasmine mix of soaps. Pouring a small amount of jasmine and cinnamon scented oil, she leaned back and closed her eyes. “Pure bliss….” she murmured softly, and unknowingly let her guard down as she slipped into a light sleep.
Listening to the sound of Kagome’s light breathing, Alucard smirked as he phased through the walls and floated in front of the dark haired miko. I can’t wait to see what she’ll do when she wakes up. He smirked to himself as he floated over to the wall that Kagome was facing and he leaned against it. Shifting, Kagome sighed as she sensed a familiar dark aura in the room. “What pervert…is here?” she said sleepily and as she sensed that it wasn’t leaving, her eyes snapped open. “Wait a minute…I know that aura! ALUCARD!! WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?” she shouted angrily as she stood up.
Taking in the sight of her glistening body, he smirked deviously. “You look good like that little miko. Maybe you should give me a free show later?” He chuckled darkly at the look of indignance and anger that crossed her face. “What are you talking about….” she glanced down at herself and shrieked. “AH! PERVERT!! GET OUT!!” Her miko powers flared and Alucard hissed in pain as he felt his arms sizzle like burnt flesh. Phasing out of the room, he frowned as he went to his room in the basement. “Damn that little miko…she packs a punch with her powers…”
Seras, hearing Kagome’s shriek of “Pervert!” came running to the ornate bathroom door. “Kagome-chan, are you alright? What happened?!?” She asked loudly through the door. Growling as she got out of the spring like tub, she dried herself off and pulled a clean set of black and silver miko robes. Grabbing her bow and quiver, she opened the door to Seras’ worried face, she said with anger, “It’s that damned Alucard. The pervert actually went inside the bathroom while I was in the tub! Oooh, If only I had Sango-chan’s Hiraikotsu…I’d…really knock some sense into that damnable vampire!” Seras glanced at her with some worry. “Who’s this Sango, Kagome-chan? A friend of yours?” she nodded a bit sadly. “Yeah, she’s an exterminator…a demon exterminator. She always slaps Miroku-sama when he’s perverted, and if it gets really bad, she hits him on the head with her Hiraikotsu.”
“Hmm…I see…” She said thoughtfully. ‘A demon exterminator? I wonder what other kind of people she has for friends.’ Sera’s head snapped up as she heard the familiar noises of ghouls. “It looks like we have us a battle to win. Let’s go Kagome-chan!” nodding, she ran after her and her eyes widened as she took in the sight of what looked to be about fifty ghouls at least and two freaks standing before them. Alucard had appeared beside Kagome, his fingers twitching to grab his Jackal and destroy these poor pathetic fools. The skirmish started when a foolish ghoul tried to come towards the estate towards Kagome as well. “You won’t get any closer!” she had quickly grabbed an arrow, knocked it on her bow, and fired it. The result of her power colliding with several ghouls had left them as ash. Alucard and Seras took this as their cue to start attacking as well, not knowing if Kagome had anything up her sleeve.
The sound of shots flying and the groans of vanquished ghouls were ringing in Kagome’s ears, making her feel alive. “This place will burn to the ground.” One of the freaks said with a smirk on his face. Kagome’s eyes narrowed. Her body glowing, she grabbed two arrows and fired the with deadly accuracy at them. The older freak had seen them coming, and used his younger brother as a shield. “That won’t work on me miko!!” He hissed, but he collapsed quickly as a silver bullet flew threw his skull. “Yes, it might have not worked the first time, but you’re gone now.” Kagome stated. She grinned at Alucard, who was staring at her with a smirk on his face. “Thanks Alucard.”
Three more arrows flew through the air, destroying the rest of the ghouls that Seras and Alucard hadn’t destroyed. Seras glanced back at Kagome with awe. “Whoa…those arrows sure pack a punch against the ghouls…” Kagome laughed. “Yeah, It sure pays off being a miko.” Kagome’s eyes narrowed a bit as she scanned the area around them. “Something’s here…” Just as she said this, a freak jumped out of its hiding place in the trees and launched itself at Kagome It had caught her off guard, and the sharp blade that it was holding was thrust into her belly. A second freak had launched itself at her as well, but it was shot down quickly by Alucard. Falling down on her knees, her powers reacted quickly, destroying the ghoul that was glaring at her for all that she was worth. “You will die miko!!” were the last words of the dying freak as it was purified She coughed up blood and pulled out the blade, which was tainted green. “Poison…” she murmured as she collapsed in pain.
Alucard was at her side in an instant, picking her up he cradled her to his chest. “She’s not healing herself….” He could see her becoming paler with every minute that was passing. “This poison is holding her powers back from healing her…” Kagome shuddered violently, and she coughed up more blood as she tried to clear her throat. The smell of Kagome’s sweet, rich blood was starting to get to Alucard, and he could feel his fangs lengthening. “Master! We have to save Kagome-chan! Turning her now is the only thing that we can do…” He nodded his head slightly and brought his mouth to the side Kagome’s neck and bit down. Kagome’s eyes snapped open at the pain that she was feeling, and her blurry vision caught the sight of Alucard’s black hair. Gripping him tightly as she felt that she was slipping into an icy abyss, she heard Alucard’s smooth voice calling out to her. “Drink.” He said softly and held up his slashed bleeding wrist to her mouth.
Kagome could taste the coppery blood at her cooling lips, and did as he said, a bit scared at first. Gagging on the first few draws of blood from his wrist, she suckled at his wrist with fervor as she felt something coming back to her limbs.
He had to move his wrist away from her mouth as she shook in pain. “Its starting…” He could feel her grab onto his clothing tightly, and sighed. Not even bothering to open the doors, he had phased down into the basement with Kagome in his arms. Opening his coffin, he placed the now calm Kagome there to sleep. Sitting down in his usual chair, he grabbed a goblet of bloodwine and stared at it thoughtfully. Why did I turn the miko? Was it because of Integra? No…having her die would mean that my amusement is gone as well. She’s interesting…I could say even more than the Police Girl…
He could feel the all so familiar call of Integra and almost growled. “Yes master? Is there something that you want?” He said as he looked at her with impassive eyes. “Where’s Kagome? I could hardly make anything out of the mess that happened down there.” Alucard’s thoughts darkened. “She’s resting…don’t try and find her in her room. She’s going to need a coffin in her room though.” with that, he phased out of her office, and chuckled darkly at her yell. “ALUCARD GET BACK HERE!! YOU HAD NO PERMISSION TO TURN ANOTHER, ESPECIALLY MY COUSIN!!”
Seras smiled to herself. She had a new sister, but she didn’t know how well that she would take it…well, we’ll all find out soon enough.
Midnight
Kagome stirred within Alucard’s coffin, and as she came to, she slowly opened her eyes. Finding that everything was black, she screamed. Trying to sit up, she found that she was within something. Pushing up at the hard surface, the lid to the coffin flew up and she sat up quickly. “Where…what happened?” looking around the room, she found that it was tastely decorated in reds and blacks. As she continued to stare, something came to mind. “When has my sight been this sharp?” Her tongue ran across two sharp fangs as she licked her lips in frustration and confusion. “AIIIEEEE!!!! I have FANGS!!!!” She screeched and jumped out of the coffin, only to find that she backed into a familiar body. “WHAT IN THE HELL HAPPENED TO ME?!?” She yelled and glared at the amused Alucard.
“You’re now a fledgling vampire…It was the only way to stop you from dying. You wanted to live, did you not? I could see it in your eyes. You struggled against the poison.” Kagome wanted to cry long and hard now. “But…but I’m a miko! I can’t be a vampire too, can I?” He nodded in confirmation and she sighed sadly. “How can this be?…could it be the Shikon? This is strange…”
Alucard glanced down at his new fledgling, and sighed. “Little miko, you are what you are now, I wouldn’t put much thought into it.” Kagome was staring at her hands in confusion. Why do I have this urge to call him master? I’ll never call him master!!! She yelled to herself. Smirking, Alucard said softly, “You are my fledgling, and I am your master. It will stay this was until you become a free vampire.”
“Free…vampire?” Kagome asked curiously. “A fledgling has trouble at first accepting what they’ve become, and they don’t want to drink blood, but when you’ve finally decided to accept who you are and drink the blood of others, and then my own, you shall be freed.”
The door to the basement was opened, and a pissed Integra walked down the steps. Catching sight of Kagome’s bright violet eyes, she sighed sadly. “So he did turn you.”
“Hey, he was trying to save me. I guess I can deal with it…This means I get to play with him all the more. I still have my miko powers, and I haven’t gotten you back from that incident in the bathroom, haven’t I?” She evilly smirked at him and her hands glowed a light lavender. “As much as I would like to see Alucard become your toy for amusement, we have things to do. Come Kagome.” Kagome pouted. “Awww….why’d you have to ruin my fun ‘Tegra?”
