Hi everyone! Arigatou for all of the wonderful reviews! Gomen for not updating in a while! I've had a ton of schoolwork and I'm in the middle of taking a ton of standardized tests. Also, the voting is over and the pairings are decided! It's going to be a Kagome/Male Harem. Also, I'm pairing Hinata with Kiba. Without further ado, here's chapter four!

As they walked back toward Tazuna's house, they heard screams from the bridge.

Kagome took command. “Naruto, can you go check on Tsunami and Inari? Sasuke and I will go to the bridge.” Naruto and Sasuke nodded and split up.

 

Sasuke and Kagome arrived at the bridge to see the dead bodies of workers scattered on the ground and blood was smeared all over the incomplete bridge. The two ran up to where Kakashi, Sakura, and Tazuna were standing. A thin mist rose up and Zabuza and a masked hunter-nin walked out.

“Sakura, guard Tazuna. Kagome and Sasuke, fight the boy. I'll take care of Zabuza.” Ordered Kakashi.

Zabuza laughed. “Do you think that your two pitiful genins will stand up to Haku?”

Kagome broke in. “He doesn't have to think so. Even if he doesn't, we'll still beat you.”

Zabuza laughed mockingly, “Look at the little Uchiha there, he's shaking in fear. You think to beat me with cowardice like that? Well, let's see about that. Haku, attack!”

Haku took out a senbon and spun towards Sasuke at a high speed. Sasuke repelled the attack with his kunai and knocked the senbon out of Haku's hand. Haku formed ice needles with his kekkei genkai and was about to aim them at Sasuke when bursts of flame melted them.

“ Why are you doing this Haku? When I met you earlier, I could sense that you were gentle and kind, and that you hated killing.” Kagome asked Haku in a sad voice.

Haku's eyes were wide behind his mask. How could she tell that I hate killing? How could she know that? I don't want to harm anyone, but for some reason, I fell as if I would kill anyone that threatened her. Why am I feeling these emotions? I will never be useful to Zabuza-san if I have these feelings.

Kagome's voice broke through his inner turmoil. “You don't have to do this. You could come with me, back to Konoha or perhaps back Gakuen Alice. With your bloodline trait, you would fit in perfectly. There are others with similar abilities as yours, so you wouldn't be hated or feared. I'm one of those people. I can control ice and water too, along with a lot of other elements, so I can understand how you feel.”

Haku felt a flicker of hope at Kagome's words, but it was quickly pushed down when the thought of Zabuza came into his mind. Kagome seems so sincere and I want to believe her. I want so much to be able to do that, but I can't just abandon Zabuza-san. He would never allow me to leave him.

“I'm sorry, but I can't abandon Zabuza-san.” With those words Haku attacked and formed his Demonic Ice Mirrors. Kagome and Sasuke were surrounded by ice mirrors that had an image of Haku in them.

“Please, just give up. I don't want to harm you.” Haku pleaded with Kagome and Sasuke. Suddenly, Naruto smashed up through the floor of the bridge, landing between Sasuke and Kagome.

“There's no way that we would give up! That's against all of our ninja ways and we will beat you!” yelled Naruto in a hyper way.

The others sweatdropped when Kagome said, “Umm, that was a very nice speech, but it might have been a bit better if you had attacked instead of announcing yourself.”

Naruto laughed in embarrassment. “Ehe, well, I'm doing things my style. Anyways, let's beat this guy and help Kakashi-sensei.” He was about to attack when Kagome said, “Wait, please allow me to try fighting first.”

“But that's dangerous! You haven't had any training in ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu! You'll get killed!” protested Naruto.

Kagome smiled enigmatically, “I don't need jutsu. Just watch me.” She jumped up and kicked one of the mirrors. “Well, looks like normal attacks won't work on these mirrors. Guess I'll have to use that.” Kagome jumped up to the mirror that she sensed Haku's aura in and passed into the mirror. As Naruto and Sasuke watched in awe, she took Haku's chin in her hands and made him look into her eyes.

Kagome's eyes had turned into a gentle purple color and as Haku looked into her purple orbs, he felt himself falling into her gentle eyes.

“Sleep until the battle is over.” Whispered Kagome and Haku let his warm brown eyes, unseen behind his mask, droop shut. Kagome caught Haku as he fell forward and placed gently on the ground as the ice mirrors melted with the release of Haku's jutsu.

Naruto bounded over to Kagome as her eyes returned to their normal cerulean blue. “Sugoi! How did you do that? You didn't hit him or anything and he just fell over. What kind of jutsu was that?”

Kagome smiled, “That wasn't a jutsu, but I can't explain it to you now. We should hurry up and help Kakashi-sensei. I'm a bit worried about him since he can't use his Sharingan in that mist.” Sasuke and Naruto looked to where there was a thick patch of mist.

Kagome sighed, “Well, I guess I had better help him.” She raised her hand and a fierce whirlwind sucked up the mist and disappeared. Now the three could see that Zabuza had had both of his arms disabled and that Kakashi had sustained multiple injuries.

Kakashi looked up in surprise and saw Kagome with her hand raised. “Thank you Kagome. Now that I can see him, I can use my technique on him.” Kakashi held his right hand with his left and molded chakra into the palm of his hand. Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto were amazed.

Sakura whispered, “Sugoi, his chakra is so powerful, it's actually visible.” Kakashi raised his hand, sped to Zabuza in a nanosecond, and plunged his hand into Zabuza's chest before he could react. Zabuza's eyes were wide as he fell and blood burst from his chest since his heart was still beating. As the last dredges of blood pumped out and Zabuza died, Gato walked into the scene with a mob of thugs.

Gato looked disgusted. “Why aren't you dead? Damn that Zabuza! He was useless. Looks like I'll have to finish the job.” He gestured to the mob behind. “Kill them.”

As the mob yelled and surged forward toward Kakashi, Sakura, and Tazuna, Kagome leapt forward and glared at them with the coldness of an ice storm in Antarctica.

“You will not harm anyone under my protection.” Snarled Kagome. Gato laughed in disbelief. “How is a little girl like you going to stop me? You should have stayed at home and arranged flowers or something.”

Kagome's eyes took on a dangerous glint and she raised her hand again. This time the water reared up in a huge wave and took on the form of a Chinese dragon. Kagome waved her hand at the mob and the dragon attacked. It swallowed up every person and reared its head toward Gato. It shot a volley of ice arrows at Gato, killing him instantly. The dragon bowed its head to Kagome before collapsing back into water.

The others were wide-eyed and completely speechless. Suddenly, Inari arrived on the scene with another mob of people, this time citizens armed with various tools. “Where did Gato go? I thought that you guys might need help so I rallied the townspeople.”

Kagome smiled gently at Inari, “Good job Inari, you were quite brave. I'm sure your stepfather would be proud of you.”

 

The shinobi stayed in the Land of the Waves for a week to recuperate. Haku had woken up after the battle was over and was invited to become a Konoha shinobi. He accepted and was made a genin. Kakashi had sent a message to the Hokage and two headbands were sent to Kagome and Haku. Kagome wore hers around hers around her neck like a choker and Haku wore his over his forehead.

After a while, Naruto finally remembered Kagome's strange technique. The group was on their way back to Konoha and Naruto and Kagome were fetching firewood for the camp. He badgered her about it until she finally conceded to tell him about the “jutsu” she had used.

Kagome laughed. “That wasn't a jutsu. I used some of my miko powers to hypnotize him. Normally you wouldn't be able to use miko powers for this but I figured how to do this from Narumi-sensei. His Alice is the human pheromone Alice, so he can control people by more or less attracting them. It's slightly disturbing to watch but I figured out that I could use my powers to essentially hypnotize people by attracting their souls since souls are naturally pulled to purity.”

Naruto had an expression similar to O,O and the first thing that came out of his mouth was, “Can you teach me that? That would be so cool and I could beat all of my enemies by hypnotizing them!”

Kagome shook her head and said, “You would have to have purification powers and an especially pure soul. You do have a pure soul, but you weren't born with purification powers. If you were, you would probably have rejected the kitsune soul trapped in you.”

Naruto's eyes widened. “How did you know that I had a kitsune sealed in me?” Naruto thought, Everyone, except for Iruka-sensei, that knows that I have a kitsune spirit in me has rejected me. Will she reject me too? Naruto prepared for Kagome's look of disgust. It never came. Instead, Kagome's eyes took on a gentle look and she said, “Don't worry, I have a lot of friends who are actually youkai, so I'll never be disgusted by the fact that you are a youkai avatar.”

Naruto looked in shock and gained a hopeful expression, “Really? You mean you're not frightened that Kyuubi is sealed in me?”

Kagome shook her head and smiled slyly, “ No, I actually rather like kitsunes. They are one of my favorite types of youkai. I love their mischievous natures.” Kagome suddenly stood up from the log they were sitting on and kissed Naruto on the cheek. She waved and said, “We should get back to camp. They'll be worried.” Kagome walked on, leaving a blushing Naruto with some rather perverted thoughts.
