Chapter 4

Unforgettable kiss

 

 

Kagome watched Sango's cab turn around the corner. She hoped her friend would be safe. But she knew her friend wouldn't be. The vampire stripper could call upon her anytime and anywhere and kill her if he pleased.

“Shall we go?” Kurama's voice asked and she stared at him. She looked back to where the vampire stripper was. She had finally learned his name: Sesshomaru. He was the elder brother of a young vampire named Inuyasha. She glared at him and snickered.

“You know…I could say you look just like Dracula standing underneath the street lamp there. Only one thing…he was a genius and well…let's say your brain is the size of your dick. It's damn right puny.” She spoke in a teasingly voice.

He glided towards her; she could sense the anger rising in him like head from a stove. It sent a shiver along her skin. Kurama stepped between them. He was speaking French; of course she couldn't understand it. Sesshomaru relaxed again and glided past us down the street.

“If you keep irritating him like that there'll be a point where I can't bring him back.” He said to her sternly. She shrugged at him. She didn't really seem to care anymore and besides this was fun for her. “C'mon, let us go.” He held out his hand.

“What?” She asked referring to his offered hand.

“So no one will be suspicious. If the police see all they'll think is that a young mortal is out with her vampire lover, that'll also explain the blood on your shirt.” He said. She looked down to the crusty now dried blood. Before they had left Bloody Fangs she had gotten so angry that she attacked another vampire stripper, in defense it tried to tear her open but she ended up tearing him open with her blade.

She gave him another look and placed her hand hesitantly into his. His cold hands wrapped around her fingers. She could feel his heart beat; it sped up to catch up with hers. Sweat was trickling down his forehead; she could feel his hunger come in waves through her body.

“Kurama!” She gasped trying to pull her hand away. He held it so tight she gasped.

“Quite Kagome…” He licked his lips, “Struggling is very…exciting.”

“Have you fed tonight?” She asked. He didn't answer.

“What does it look like?”

“Why didn't you feed?”
“I was ordered not to.”

“Why?” He didn't answer, he turned around into an alley way. “Why?” She asked again. He looked at her through the corner of his eye.

“I don't know.”

A police car eased around the corner. Its search lights flickering out into darkened places. It was for theorists reasons. This was such a bad town; it was a known town for drugs and the black market.

Kurama pulled her towards him; she put out her hand so their bodies weren't completely touching. She could feel his rash breathing; he was protecting her from himself…until now.

“Kurama!”

“Hush.” She tried to pull away but his hand held her there. He lifted her head by the chin and she tried to move her head. His fingers held her head there.

“Let me go!” She yelped.

“Hush, look at me.”

“I won't look into your eyes!” She yelled. She could feel him look back at the police car then back at her.

“I swear to you that tonight you may look into my eyes with safety.” He said in that soothing tone. She swallowed hard but slowly looked up into his eyes. They were a deep forest green, but no pull or voices, they were just eyes. His head bent down, lips lingering over hers.

“I swear.” He spoke softly. His hot breaths on her face. He was going to kiss her. She didn't want him to kiss her. But then again…she did. His tongue was a quick wetness and his lips were as soft as a rose.

The spotlight fell over them. She forced herself to relax in his arms. She felt the roughness of his fangs and she tried to pull back. He let her. He pressed her head against his chest. His breaths unsteady, his hunger was worse than before. His hunger…for her flesh.

“Kurama!” She yelled. He kept hushing her. Finally he let her go and with such force she stumbled. He staggered over to a parked car and leaned up against it.

Her face was rosy. She had always had dreams of him kissing her. She had loved him so much. `Knock it off.' She told herself. She DIDN'T love him anymore. She couldn't. She couldn't help but touch her lips, she could still feel his. She knew…this was going to be unforgettable.

He finally walked back over to her. He had calmed himself down. He took her hand and led her into the back of a building. Up flights of stairs and into a room.

Inside it was dark; she recognized one of the two vampires, Sesshomaru.

“Still frightened?” He asked her in a cool monotone voice.

“Still small?” She mocked back. He shifted so he could get to her but Kurama stepped in.

“We promised her to be well…remember?” Sesshomaru growled and walked back to the other figure in the room.

“So Kagome, you come to wish upon me your friend's safety?” She looked to her. This couldn't be…their master. She stood up and faced Kagome. She was shaded out by how pitch black the room was. “I'm Kikyo.” She spoke. “I'm their master.”

“No your not.” Kagome said staring her down.

“What?” She said in a snapping voice.

“You couldn't be both their master's, not even Sesshomaru's! I mean, he even feels a great more power than you!”

“Why you…”

“Enough Botan, she knows.” Kurama spoke softly.

“Yeah, it was completely obvious because you have barely any power, and well, neither does Sesshomaru but--” She was cut off as Sesshomaru glided at her, Kurama reached out to grab him but he wouldn't make it. Sesshomaru's hand went up, Kagome tried to get away but it caught her in the shoulder making her fly backwards into the wall. Her back hit first then her head.

She slid down the wall. Her world was going gray. She heard yelling and then a pain in her head as her world went dark.
