Chapter 5

Reality Shattered

Kagome's heart stopped, her whole body seemed to have shut down. It was him, the person she left three years ago. Who had hurt her so badly, left her in tears, left her heartbroken. Why was she here, why now?

Inuyasha's eye's dilated, his whole body shivered in utter surprise and disbelief. There she was standing right before him. Was she real or was his mind playing games with him? He reached out.

Kagome flinched as if he hit her. She couldn't find her voice, and the feeling that was settling in the pit of her stomach was overwhelming. She stepped forward looking over his body devouring his features. Everything was the same, just as she remembered.

He watched Kagome, her body and face had matured since he last seen her. She was still beautiful. His heart fluttered high into his throat, continuing to rise higher the closer she approached him. She was within three feet of him when she slowed her pace, then finally stopped.

Naraku, sitting in front of his mirror, didn't like what he was witnessing. He growled, his anger flooding him. In one swift movement of his arm, his mirror laid in shattered pieces around his feet. His eyes glowed red and his mind raced, trying the best he could to think of something new, something that would tear reality in two.

He struck a deal with himself. He had formulated and calculated in his mind, a new world altering plan. Smirking to himself he, launched himself into the air and exploded. The tiny parts of Naraku, glowed and drifted in the air, then finally dispersed. Each with 'its' own mind and destination.

One single piece of Naraku sped to 'its' goal, Inuyasha. Being as small as 'it' was, the hanyou wouldn't sense the piece as 'it' invaded his body, while the others twisted and mangled reality.

As 'it' approached the unsuspecting hanyou, 'its' glow faded and landed on Inuyasha's shoulder, sinking into the haori and into his skin.

Inuyasha, felt weak, then sick to his stomach. It lurched and turned, throwing him into spasms. As he was dealing with his pain, the micro Naraku particle began to spread throughout his body, covering everything with a paralyzing evil embrace. Shutting everything off and letting it take over. With each passing second the disease spread and got closer to his most vital of organs, his soul. His soul, put up a barrier and in disarray, was taken over. The shining gold light of his pure soul was now dripping with the sludge of a black infection, Naraku's soul.

Inuyasha could feel the war ragging within himself and could feel the pain, then nothing. Blackness shrouding him he drifted off into the desolate space of his blackened soul, soon to reawaken as Naraku himself.

Kagome not aware of the hostile takeover stood there, hoping he would say something, anything but what was going to come out his mouth. "What are you doing here." Not a queation, but a forceful and harshly spoken demand. She flinched, for a reason this time. She never thought that, that would come out of his mouth.

"I asked you a question bitch." He snarled. "Why are you here." He demanded again, with more force. Kagome stumbled on her words, finally spitting out the information. "I..I..I don't know..." She said sheepishly. Backing away slowly, she was going to run, run away from the horror she faced. "I don't think so." was all she heard before she felt to stern hands grabbing her roughly around her upper arms and being tossed around.

She closed her eyes, everything was happening so fast and before she new it she was facing Inuyasha, nose to nose. His eyes were different. They were cold and emotionless. Is this what happened during the years she was gone? Should she had ever left? Should she have stayed and fought for him? She was abruptly wrenched around none to gentle. She could feel his sharp claws digging into her skin.

Naraku, even being within Inuyasha's body, had his powers. He withdrew one of his arms and outstretched it, at his finger tips the tiny pieces of himself gathered and reeled around encircling his hand. He sat forth in concentration, keeping one hands grasped around the girl and the other his plan.

A vortex emerged from a tear in the middle of Keade's abandoned yard and home. Inuyasha's eyes narrowed as he called forth all of his powers. He flicked open his hand, sending the tiny parts of Naraku into the opening of the vortex, each taking a place around the mouth, forcing it open.

Kagome's eyes widened. What was he going to do? Her heart pounded at the thoughts and possibilities of what was going to happen to her. Was he going to throw her into it? If so where would it take her? She then realized she would probably never see her family again and found herself wishing this was a nightmare.

She soon felt the dampness of Inuyasha's lips and his hot breath, next to her ear. "You shouldn't have come back." His wirily statement stunned her. He was fine when she first seen him. Right? Yes, he was fine. So why was he different now? She didn't have time to finish her thought, she soon found herself whirling in the vortex, it's winds throwing her wildly and carelessly in ways a human body was not made to bend.

She blacked out after the first couple of seconds and woke up in a city similar to hers in her own time, but she felt odd auras, those of demons.
