Chapter 8 Finals

 

When Kagome got to a particularly big group one of the people she felt someone grope her ass. Kagome turned around and hit the person real hard while screaming. “Hentai!” When she looked down at the person she had just slapped it was the boy from before. She didn't know why he had caught her attention, but now she did he looked just like Miroku. How could she have missed it before? There was no doubt in Kagome's mind that he was Miroku's reincarnation.

 

Kagome didn't have long to dwell on that thought when she saw a girl that looked a lot like Sango walk their way, the only difference was she had short hair. This really scared Kagome even if she didn't show it. “I'm sorry miss. My friend over there has a problem when it comes to his wandering hands.” The Sango look alike said.

 

“It's okay.” Kagome said in an icy tone.

 

“Sorry, I didn't introduce myself properly. My name is Kakyoku, and the one you knocked out is Hizumu.” The girl now known as Kakyoku said.

 

“My name is Kagome.” Kagome said in shock but still not showing it.

 

“Well, nice meeting you but I have to wake him up. Good luck in the contest.” Kakyoku said while dragging Hizumu off.

 

Kagome found Sesshomaru right after her strange meeting with the Sango and Miroku look a-likes. “Sesshomaru I saw them.” Kagome said trying to make sure her emotionless mask didn't break.

 

“Who did you see Kagome?” Sesshomaru asked. He knew who she was talking about but he wanted to make sure he hadn't been seeing things.

 

“I saw Miroku's and Sango's reincarnations.” Kagome said while sitting down by him.

 

“Just as I though, Kagome, do you want to go home?” Sesshomaru asked.

 

“No, I'm going to finish singing tonight but I'm going for a walk before the finals.” She said.

 

“Okay.” Was his only reply. Kagome then got up and walked out, Hiei seeing this decided to follow her.

 

Kagome got outside and started walking, she noticed that a very familiar and maybe becoming annoying scent. Then she thought about it for a minute. `Nope, that scent would never get annoying, it smelt too good.' Kagome went on just ignoring the fire/ice apparition. When she chanced on a couple of demon scents but something was wrong there were too many of them and she also smelled blood. Kagome took off at full speed leaving a very confused Hiei.

 

Hiei smelled the air quickly then took off after her. When Hiei arrived he saw Kagome had one demon already dead, while six more demons closed in on her. He took this chance to jump in. After, about five minutes all the demons were dead, and the girl they were going to eat had long since run away.

 

“Do you fight demons as one of you hobbies? Because every time I see you, you seem to be in some kind of fight.” He asked with a smirk.

 

“Well, Mister Smart Ass, do you always drop in on fights that aren't yours?” Kagome asked knowing she beat him at his own game.

 

“You have a contest to sing in and I do believe you should almost be up.” Hiei said.

 

“Fine.” Kagome said while taking off towards the club, with Hiei hot on her heels.

 

Kagome got on stage. She looked around like she had done the first two times. The whole audience was sitting there, with all their attention on her. But when the music started playing the little bit of nervousness was gone in an instant. (This song, I sang for a contest and I won $50 for it. No lie!)

 

 

She walks to school with the lunch she packed

After, my final song was over. I went over and sat with Sesshomaru and Rin, waiting for the last two contestants to get done singing. After about twenty minutes of waiting the announcer came up on stage and announced the winners. “Third place is Hizumu, second place goes to Kagome, and first place goes to Aichou. Thank you to everyone who participated. And thank you to everyone who came.” The announcer said.

 

Kagome followed Rin and Sesshomaru out. She had just won $35 and two free tickets to use for whenever for the club. Once thy got out of the club they were confronted by the Spirit Detectives. Sesshomaru made a quick survey of them, when his eyes landed on Hiei he glared and growled at him. “What is it that you want?” Sesshomaru asked not liking the fact that the spiky haired demon's scent was all over his little sister.

 

“We're here to get Kagome, so we can take her back to Reikai.” Kurama said.

 

“Under what charges?” Rin asked. While Kagome let them talk, knowing it wouldn't do any good to stop them.

 

“None that I know of, Koenma would just like to see her, as far as I know.” Kurama said.

 

“Well, tell Koenma that Kagome will not becoming tonight but will see him when it is convenient for her.” Rin stated.

 

As the conversation went on Kagome found herself looking at Hiei, again! `He is kind of cute. NO BAD, BAD, BAD KAGOME!!! He is nothing, I don't need him. He'd just get in the way any way.' Kagome thought.

 

~Is that so? ~ Hiei thought, entering her mind.

 

~What the hell do you think you're doing reading my mind? ~ Kagome demanded.

 

~I was wondering what you were thinking about because you kept staring at me, and apparently it wasn't that bad. But that last part hurt my feelings. ~ He mocked.

 

~You Ass! Didn't I tell you the next time you decided to read my mind, I would purify your ass?' Kagome thought.

 

~You did, but I doubt you will. You can't stop thinking about me. ~ Hiei thought while getting cocky.

 

~Oh really? ~ Kagome thought.

 

Then all of a sudden she sent a burst of her miko energy through their mental link, causing Hiei to let out a growl of pain. This made everyone look at him then they noticed Kagome had a proud smirk on her face. “What happened?” Sesshomaru asked.

 

“Nothing, not if you don't mind I would like to go home.” Kagome said in a bored tone and started walking off.

 

When Kagome got to her second home she was greeted by her two overly hyper niece and nephew. “Hi, auntie Kag!!” Both said in unison.

 

“Hi Dei and Naito.” The two pups were twins but complete opposites that's why Kagome figured they got their names as day and night. “So, how are my two favorite nice and nephew? And why aren't you guys asleep it's almost midnight?” Kagome asked. Naito was the first to speak up. He was a cute little boy who looked like a mini replica of his father and some times acted like him too.

 

“We weren't tired so we decided to stay up and wit for you.” Said the seven year old pup.

 

“But then Jaken started yelling at us and we tied him up and put him in the kitchen closet.” Kei said. She looked like her mom and acted like her, too.

 

“You did what?” Rin screeched then ran inside with Sesshomaru right behind her. Leaving Kagome and their kids behind.

 

“Good job!” Kagome said as she picked both of the pups up. “Someone needs to put that toad in his place.” She said and all three of them giggled as they walked inside, but they didn't know they were being watched.

 

After Rin rescued Jaken from the closet and put the pups to sleep she headed over to where her mate and sister-in-law were waiting. When she found them they were already in a heated argument. “I don't see why you care that the apparition's scent is all over me. God, it's not like I'm his mate!” Kagome said in an icy voice.

 

“Because you're my little sister and I have a right to know why.” Sesshomaru said in an equally icy voice. “Wait, are you mated to him?”

 

“No! Why what would be wrong with me mating to him?” Kagome asked.

 

“Um you guys?” Rin tried to but in but they were still arguing. “GUYS!”

 

“WHAT?!” They both yelled at her, while losing their control over their emotions and self control.

 

“I think it would be a good idea if we let Kagome get some rest.” Rin said to her mate, who sent a glare at her but gave in. Kagome had given her a thankful look instead.

 

“Fine, she's giving me a headache anyways!” Sesshomaru said. Kagome was pissed but didn't say a thing, but instead of walked out of the room and waited for Rin.

 

Rin walked out looking very happy that's when Kagome asked Rin her usual question. “Okay, Rin what do you want? You wouldn't have gotten me out of Sesshomaru's interrogation if you didn't want something in return.” Kagome stated out.

 

“You're right, I want two things.” Rin said. “First I want you to tell me all about the fire/ice apparition, and two I'm going to take you to get a make over because that Hair doesn't work for you. Now come on you got a lot of details to cover.” Rin said in a sing song voice while dragging Kagome down the hall and then into the room Kagome usually uses.

Kagome had told Ring everything, as she was going to sleep she remembered a part of their conversation.

“So what are you going to do now that you know Naraku is back?” Rin asked.

 

“I will train and then take him on.” Kagome said simply.

 

“What if you die?” Rin asked getting serious.

 

“I got no reason to live.” Kagome said in a bored tone.

 

“What about me, Sesshomaru, and your niece and nephew? Aren't we reason enough?” Rin said there was an uneasy silence. “Or, maybe I should be saying what about that spiky haired apparition?” Rin asked teasingly.

 

“Rin I don't even like him like that, even though he is cu…Oh get the hell out of here, Rin.” Kagome said in an annoyed voice.

 

“Okay, okay I will but don't forget at noon we are going to the mall to get your hair and nails done.” Rin said before leaving.

Kagome had just started drifting to sleep when she heard the door open and close. She opened her eyes to see who it was. Standing there holding their stuffed animals was Dei and Naito. “What's wrong?” Kagome asked gently.

 

“We had a nightmare.” Dei said in a shaky voice.

 

“Why didn't you go to your mom and dad?” Kagome said now fully awake.

 

“Because we are afraid of the dark and their room is too far down the hallway so we came here.” Naito said.

 

“So can we sleep with you tonight?” They both asked.

 

“Sure I don't see why not.” Kagome said pulling the covers back so they could get into the bed.

 

“Thank you auntie, Kag.” They both said while falling asleep.

 

“No problem.” She said to them just before drifting off into sleep.

 

Hiei had followed her home like Koenma had ordered, and had heard everything. But what touched him the most was seeing Kagome let her niece and nephew sleep with her. After that little scene Hiei took off back home.
