Chapter 10 Kisses All Around

My house was in flames! I couldn't move or anything, but then I saw it there was movement by the old well house. I ran over to see who it was, everyone followed me. When I got there I saw it was my mother and she was bleeding all over. I sat down beside her and shook her gently, she opened her eyes. “Ka-kagome is that you?” She asked.

 

“Yes, mama, it's me. I'm here now so please be quite you need to save your strength to get better.” I said putting my hands over the large cut in her side and focusing my miko energy to heal it. After I was done my mom looked at me still tired from blood lose, probably.

 

“Kagome, you need to go find Souta and Tenmei, when the demons attacked I told Souta to take Tenmei and run. They ran into the forest, I don't know what has happened to them and that was ten minutes ago.” My mom said.

 

“What do I do?” I asked my self. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around and looked at the person the hand belonged too. I was Kurama he was smiling at me then he said.

 

“How about you, Hiei, and Yusuke all go and look for your brother and sister while me, Botan, and Kuwabara take care of your mom.” That's all I needed to hear and then I took off towards the forest.

Kagome ran through the forest with Hiei and Yusuke hot on her heels. After, six minutes of running they came across a demon trying to get Souta and Tenmei out of a little cave he hound and had hidden in. Hiei killed the demon quickly while Kagome ran to her younger siblings. Souta wasn't sure what to think about what was happening but when he saw Kagome he launched himself at her with Tenmei still in his arms. Kagome hugged them both. Tenmei wiggled around trying to get away from them both then gave a frustrated screech getting their attentions. Kagome quite hugging Souta, letting Tenmei get away and able to walk around.

 

Tenmei spotted Hiei and started to walk over to him and held her arms up saying `up.' Hiei raised an eyebrow at this. `What? Why is this silly little human asking me to pick her up? Isn't she scared of me?' Hiei thought but was pulled back to reality, when Tenmei grabbed his pant leg and giving a little tug. “I think she wants you to pick her up Hiei.” Yusuke said with a smirk on his face.

 

“I know that stupid.” Hiei growled out before he picked up the little toddler. Once Tenmei was in Hiei's arms she immediately climbed up higher towards his hair. She wrapped her small arms around his head and laid her head on top of his, playing with a bit of his hair and making an assortment of cooing noises.

 

Yusuke burst out laughing making Kagome and Souta stop their conversation and look at him, but he just pointed at a growling Hiei, with a cooing Tenmei in his arms and also in his hair. “Hahaha looks like hahaha she isn't hahaha afraid of you Hiei hahaha!” Yusuke said between fits of laughter. Hiei glared at him then growled.

 

“How do I get her off of me?” Hiei asked frustrated that she wouldn't let go of his hair. Souta gave a little chuckle, then walked over to Hiei and his sister.

 

“Tenmei come here and leave him alone.” Souta said while he took Tenmei away from Hiei, Tenmei had a scowl on her face and let out a growl of some sort. This sent Yusuke into another fit of laughter.

 

HAHAHA looks like she HAHAHA likes you HAHAHAHA!” Yusuke laughed out but soon found himself on the ground with a major headache.

 

“If you wish to live another day detective, then you had better shut up.” Hiei said in a deadly tone, but Yusuke never had a chance to answer because two demons appeared. One was a female with clear acid yellow eyes, lime green hair that went to her waist, she had to be six foot three, and was wearing a little to no clothes besides a halter top that was way to small for her and micro mini skirt and standing there was another Naraku doll.

 

“Naraku.” Kagome hissed while stepping in front of her little brother and getting into a fighting stance, while Hiei and Yusuke did the same.

 

“I see you still remember me, my dear little miko.” Naraku said.

 

“How could I forget such a disgusting creature like you?” Kagome asked growling.

 

“I'm hurt but no matter I have come for one thing, and that would be the little thing behind you.” Naraku said in a cold voice while he went a tentacle towards Souta and Tenmei, but Kagome used her claws and sliced it in half before it could reach them.

 

“You're going to have to do better than you want to get my sister. “Kagome said letting gout a growl.

 

“Very well then, Eimin.” Naraku said.

 

The girl's eyes started to glow green and the ground started to shake. “What the hell?!” Yusuke yelled before falling on his but, Hiei growled in frustration at having trouble standing. Souta fell back completely on his back still holding Tenmei. Kagome was trying her best not to fall.

 

“It's quit simple you stupid human.” The girl now known as Eimin stated. “I can make earth quakes, controlling the ground and what not.” She said with a smirk.

 

“You sure like to talk don't you?” Hiei said in a cocky tone as he rushed towards her with his katana ready to strike, but got knocked back because the ground underneath of him rose up and made a shield in front of the woman. Eimin then turned towards Naraku.

 

“Once we get the kid can I take him too, so I can have him as a pet?” She asked smirking at Kagome when she heard her growl. Tenmei struggled in Souta's arms trying to get away.

 

“Tenmei, no stay here!” Souta said trying to hold onto his little sister as the ground started to stop shaking.

 

“That won't be necessary.” Naraku said as he sent another tentacle at Souta. This time Kagome was still recovering her balance and couldn't stop the tentacle from going through Souta's shoulder, making him yell out in pain and letting go of Tenmei. Eimin appeared and picked up Tenmei then disappeared to reappear by Naraku. Suddenly the ground rose in a circle around Hiei, and then closed in on him, not letting him budge.

 

“I will be taking my pet as well.” Eimin said as the encased Hiei was being transported to their sides, Kagome could not let two of them be taken so she used an ice blast and directed it at the hardened soil around him. She then bunched it to let him out. He climbed out and tried to go after Naraku with Kagome doing the same.

 

“I think we will be leaving now.” Naraku said giving a cruel chuckle. “Oh, and Miko…I will make sure you suffer…just like with Inuyasha.” Tenmei struggled to get out of Eimin's arms but it was no use, she then yelled out.

 

“KOMAY!!!” With that all three of them disappeared.

 

“Coward!” Hiei yelled out.

 

“No!” Kagome shouted letting a little emotion show. “This wasn't supposed to happen, this wasn't supposed to happen!” She repeated as she sank to her knees. Yusuke walked over to her and put a hand on her shoulder.

 

“There is nothing we can do about Tenmei right now. But your brother needs to be healed and we need to get back to your mom.” Yusuke said as he gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze. Hiei just stood off to the side and watched. `The girl just watched her sister get kidnapped. She must feel helpless.' He thought before he moved over to stand behind Yusuke since he wasn't able to get a response out of the woman.

 

Yusuke mouthed to Hiei. “Your turn.” And then walked off to check on Kagome's brother who seemed to be in shock and losing a lot of blood still. Hiei got in front of Kagome and squatted down to her level.

 

“Stop being lazy and get up.” Hiei barked out looking at her straight in the eyes. Anger passed through Kagome's eyes for a second, but then became cold and steely.

They were able to get the fires out, but the shrine was still damaged quite a bit and would need a lot of repairing. The bedrooms and bathrooms were okay but the kitchen and living room looked horrible. “Where are they?” Botan asked herself for the millionth time as she paced back and forth up and down the hall way upstairs. Kurama watched her keeping a calm appearance but he was even starting to worry a little.

 

“I'm sure their okay, Botan, you just need to calm down. Before you wear a hole into the floor.” Kurama joked lightly trying to lighten the mood.

 

“Calm down?! Calm Down?! How can I, when three of my friends are out in the woods looking for a little boy and girl, and it has been an hour already. They should have been back by now.” Botan said still wigging out.

 

Kurama got in front of Botan to stop her from pacing anymore. “I'm sure if they were in trouble Hiei or someone would have contacted us.” Kurama said. Botan looked up at Kurama tears threatening to spill.

 

“I just don't want to have to take another person I know to spirit world so soon after we have lost Genkai.” Botan said while a few tears made their way down her face. Kurama gave Botan a hug.

 

“They're fine I'm sure of it.” He said soothing as he ran his fingers through her hair.

 

“But what if…” Botan started to ask, but was cut off when Kurama lifted her chin up so she was looking at him and then he kissed her. Botan was so shocked she didn't know what to do until she felt Kurama's tongue run across her bottom lip asking for permission to enter. Botan went with instincts and opened her mouth. Kurama explored her mouth tasting her, he was in heaven now. They then started a battle for dominance, they broke apart for air. Botan was blushing twenty shades of pink, Kurama didn't look much better. Soon after, Kuwabara came up the stairs and looked at Botan and Kurama.

 

“We need your help down stairs.” Kuwabara said oblivious to how pink the pair were.

 

“Why what's wrong? “Did they…” Botan asked.

 

“Yeah, Yusuke came back carrying Kagome and the little boy was dragging Hiei. Both of them are out cold. Both of them are beat up real bad, too.” Kuwabara said turning around to go back down the stairs.”

 

“Okay, we're coming.” Botan said following behind Kuwabara. When they got down stairs Yusuke and Souta looked relieved.

 

“It's about time you guys got here. Where were you?” Yusuke asked. Both Botan and Kurama looked at each other and blushed. “Screw it, never mind, just come help us, they're heavier than they look.”

 

“I'll go get some bandages.” Botan said leaving the room.

 

“Hey, kid, where can we put these two?” Yusuke asked.

 

“We can put them into my sister's old room, since it's the guest room now.” Souta said. “Now can someone please help me with him? Cause he's heavy.”

 

“Sure.” Kurama said, going over and grabbing Hiei's other arm and putting it around his shoulders.

 

When they got into the room they placed Hiei on one side of the queen sized bed and Kagome on the other. The room had been repainted a light blue. Other than the queen size bed that was under the window, so you could now get onto it from either side of the bed. The room didn't really look too different. After they got them both bandaged up they let them sleep. “Where's Mrs. Higurashi?” Yusuke asked.

 

“She's in her room, resting.” Kurama answered. “But what happened to Hiei and Kagome?”

 

“Well, we weren't able to stop Naraku from taking the little girl, so Kagome was feeling really bad and beating herself up over it. I couldn't get through to her so Hiei did. She healed her little brother and after that she went into an unstable state. That's when Hiei pissed her off…and I mean she just blew, they got into a big fight and here we are now.” Yusuke explained.

 

“Hiei should have known better.” Kurama shook his head.

 

“What do you mean?” Yusuke asked.

 

“Well, you see dog, wolf, cat, and fox demons like to be in a pack or have big families, so when one gets killed or taken most of the time the one that should have protected them, go into a dangerous type of depression and Hiei knew better than to provoke her.” Kurama said.

 

“Is that why she had all of those dogs and fire cat at her house?” Yusuke asked.

 

“Yes.” Kurama said.

 

“Will she be alright when she wakes up?”

 

“She should be.” Kurama said crossing his arms. “You said that Naraku got the little girl? I wonder what he wants with her.”

 

“I don't know but, Koenma isn't going to be happy when Botan tells him about this.” Yusuke said.

I was in some kind of forest, it wasn't the one I was in when I had fought Hiei. No this one was different. There were more trees, the air had more humidity, and there were tons of plants that you wouldn't see on earth and lots of beautiful flowers with so many colors. It actually looked like the cave that had the water fall in it but even more wild. I started looking around trying to find where I was but I couldn't figure it out. Then I heard a twig break snap behind me. I turned around and saw Inuyasha standing there. My breath caught in my throat. I wasn't sure if it was him, his eyes were covered by his bangs. He then looked up at me and I saw them, the golden eyes that had haunted my dreams. I knew this must be a dream but I didn't care, I launched myself at him wrapping my arms around his neck and giving him a hug. But he shoved me away and then there was an angry look in his eyes.

 

“What do you think you're doing traitor?” Inuyasha asked in a deadly tone.

 

“Inuyasha, what do you mean? Why are you calling me a traitor?” I asked.

 

“Don't play dumb with me, if you would have used your miko powers like you did after we were killed, we would still be alive.” Inuyasha stated.

 

“But I couldn't have used my miko powers, I lost control over them. That's how I killed Naraku. I didn't betray you.” I said then Shippo appeared.

 

“Did you not love me anymore, Kagome? Is that why you let Naraku kidnap me and kill me?” Shippo asked and god knows it hurt me so much when he used my name instead of calling my mommy.

 

“I didn't mean for you guys to die, I loved you guys with all of my heart!” I said sinking to the ground, tears threatening to fall. “How could you even say that?”

 

“Seeing as how you killed Naraku with no problems after we were dead, do you really think we wouldn't catch on that you wanted us gone.” Came in Sango's voice. I looked up and there she was, but it didn't stop there because then Miroku walked up beside her.

 

“But I told you I couldn't control my miko powers! I didn't want you guys to die!” I cried out. “I had no reason to want you guys dead.” I choked out, tears were now falling from my eyes and turning into gems.

 

“You had reason enough to kill Inuyasha, for all those times he went to Kikyo and hurting you in the process.” Miroku said.

 

“He is right, and I wish I would have stayed with her and wished her back to life with the jewel. At least, she wouldn't have betrayed me.” Inuyasha said glaring at me. I just couldn't take it anymore, I broke down crying until I felt a comforting presents beside me. Their arms wrapped around me and I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time, I felt safe…

I was in a tree somewhere in a forest, I knew it wasn't where I was before. I couldn't sense anyone around so I started to look around by jumping from tree to tree. The place looked like a forest in Makai. Then I heard crying, the person who was crying sounded familiar so I went to go see who it was. When I got there I saw Kagome there with a monk, half-demon, fox demon, and a demon slayer. They were all standing around her calling her a traitor but after a while she just seemed to give up on telling them she wasn't one. `If the stupid woman can't even change her own dream why should I help her…better yet why am I sharing a dream with her?' I thought then I saw her sink to the ground and just cry her eyes out.

 

I had, had enough, this woman needed some sense talked into her but I wouldn't be able to do that with these dream people hanging around. I jumped down by her, she suddenly started to quiet a little. I wrapped my arms around her, and started to change where we were, she didn't seem to mind. As the people melted away, I found myself in a field full of flowers, she was still in my arms and shaking with silent sobs. I kind of pushed her away and then I grabbed her by the shoulders so I could hold her up while I looked into her face. But all of a sudden she just launched herself at me and started crying. `What the hell is going on?! Why is she so open with me now?! Also, when the hell did I become soft?!'

 

I pushed her off of me and she fell into a sitting positions, she looked at me confused. “This is just a dream woman get a hold of yourself! If you can't even handle your own dreams then you are of no use to Tenmei.” I said shaking her, a little to get her attention. It took her a minute but she managed to stop crying and looked me right in the eyes.

 

“Your right but…I'm just so tired of doing this…I already lost all my friends once…and I don't want that to happen again…now Tenmei has been taken because of me…god, I just hurt everyone that I come in contact with…I just can't take it anymore…I wish I could just die.” She said trying not to cry.

 

I was just getting irritated but I could relate to how she felt. “No, you don't wish that. You have defeated that bastard once and lived you can do it again. Besides…I'll even stay by your side and help you…” I heard myself say. She looked at me and for once I saw an emotion I had never seen pass through her eyes, it was compete and total trust.

 

“Do you promise?” She asked.

 

“Hn, yes.” Was all I said. I couldn't believe I said that! But I wasn't even ready for what she did next. She lunged at me wrapping her arms around my neck and then she kissed me! I wasn't sure what to do but then I kissed her back. Then everything went black and the next thing I knew I was being pulled back to reality.

He pushed me back and I wasn't sure why, so I looked into his eyes to see if I could figure out why he did so. “This is just a dream woman get a hold of yourself! If you can't even handle your own dreams then you are of no use to Tenmei.” He said shaking me a bit. It took a little while for the words to sink in but, when they did I stopped crying enough to tell him what I thought.

 

“You're right but…I'm just so tired of doing this…I already lost all my friends once…and I don't want that to happen again…now Tenmei has been taken because of me…god, I just hurt everyone that I come in contacted with…I just can't take it anymore…I wish I could just die.” I said trying not to cry because I had done enough of that already.

 

“No, you don't wish that. You have defeated that bastard once and lived you can do it again. Besides…I'll even stay by your side and help you…” He said, I was shocked but at the same time happy I don't know why.

 

“Do you promise?” I asked.

 

“Hn, yes.” He said I couldn't believe he said that! I was so happy and excited that I kissed him…and this time it felt right, unlike the last time we kissed. Just as he started to kiss me back everything went black and the next thing I knew I was being pulled back to reality.

Botan and Kurama had gone upstairs to wake Kagome and Hiei up. When they found them Botan immediately went and got her camera, and took pictures like crazy. Kurama was trying to suppress fits of laughter but was failing miserably. Hiei had his arms wrapped around Kagome's waist protectively. Kagome was facing him, her head was snuggled into his chest while her arms were around his neck and tangled into his hair at the back of his head.

 

Hiei and Kagome woke up at the same time, both of them were very embarrassed but were soon pulled out of there own thoughts by the sounds of snickers. Kagome grabbed a pillow and started hitting Hiei calling him a pervert. Hiei was so shocked he fell off of the bed, pulling the covers down with him that Kagome happened to be wrapped up in, pulling her down on top of him.

 

Kurama had long since given up on not trying to laugh and was leaning against Botan, who was laughing as hard or harder then Kurama, both helping to keep each other up. Hiei and Kagome were blushing like mad, Kagome tried to hit Hiei a couple of times but that didn't work since he was holding onto both of her wrists. After they had gotten themselves untangled, both of them chased after Botan and Kurama threatening to kill them if they didn't give them the camera. In the end Botan made a portal and left with the camera to go get the film developed before Hiei or Kagome could get their hands on the camera, leaving Kurama to fend for himself. After everyone calmed down, they went out to eat dinner, but not without Kagome and Hiei sending death glares at Kurama and Botan.

Author's Notes: I am so sorry!!! We have been having soccer practice like crazy and we had our first game yesterday…guess what…I have the most stressful position, and I also never come out of the game unless I'm bleeding or knocked out…yup that's me the Annie's Soccer Goalie! As for our game yesterday we lost to Olney. Yeah their good, very good. We held against them in the first half and then in the second it went all downhill for us. I was in the paper lol.
