Time:
When she reached the kitchen, she smiled at her mother and tired friends. “Morning Kurama, Yukina, Sango. What are we having for breakfast?”
As soon as they noticed her, she was ushered to the table and each of the other girls took from of her children so they could play with them. “I’m so jealous Kagome, you had two boys.”
“You’ll have a boy too Sango, if not this time then next.” At the implement in her voice, the pregnant woman turned bright red.
This Time:
The next few months seemed to pass slowly as the arrival of Sango’s child approached. Yukina liked the shrine and was visiting weekly to check up on the pregnant girl, and according to her estimates Sango would be giving birth within the next two weeks. She was so thrilled and hoping for a boy like Miroku wanted; Kirara had actually already left through the well to fetch him so he could be here and ready.
This time everything was being prepared for the birth and Kagome would be helping out. Kurama would be on call in case something was to go wrong. It would hopefully go smoothly though. Souta would probably be home for this one and they didn’t want him to freak out or worry. He was taking to being an uncle quite well though. Already he was taking both little boys to play, though they didn’t play the greatest as they were only a few months old; they were growing faster than normal babies, mainly that they could already crawl and stand.
The eldest was named Hotaro and the youngest was Kenji. Hiei allowed Kagome to name both of them, mainly being happy that she was well after her birthing experience. The hybrid was a little if-y on the name Hotaro, but he wasn’t going to say anything about it; it was better than some other names she could’ve chosen. He could live with his eldest son’s name meaning Firefly; at least, he could if it made her happy.

Time passed so slowly it seemed as Miroku, Sango,
and Kagome prepared to leave for Kaede’s village. The
priestess had taken them all with her shopping, including Inuyasha
who had already returned to the past. The group knew that it would
be quite some time before they all returned, and they were prepared
for the worst. Lots of medical supplies were purchased and taken
back, it would be carried by one of the three animals within their
group, and Sango and Miroku’s daughter, Aikou, would stay
with Kagome’s family.
Hiei was already told that she would be leaving and had spent the previous night with her. She was prepared for what was to come, and she was going to reverse the spell on the well when she reached the other side. Her training had been going well and she was prepared for what was to come; determined that no more of her friends were going to die.
As they all fell into the time stream, they readied themselves for what was to come. The final battle would have to be soon because the shards were down to their group, Kouga’s two, and the almost whole jewel which lay in Naraku’s hands. It was time for the confrontation and they would be ready for it. As soon as they made it out, Inuyasha was ready and prepared to leave as soon as they visited Kaede. With her okay, they would bring Aikou here and leave her in the village while they hunted the evil hanyou.
Kuroune was waiting at the hut, prepared to go with them, as he owed his life to Kagome. He would repay her by traveling with her and her group. It would be nightfall before they would leave the village, and Kagome would be walking with Kuroune as they talked. Their topic was on the bat’s origins. “I came from a clan on the coast, and they specialized in blood magic; at least the most powerful did. The clan founder was said to be a demon of taiyoukai class that fell in love with a winged demon many centuries ago, their joining led to the first bat demon. He was a blood demon that practiced blood magic.”
“What exactly is blood magic?”
“It’s a type of magic that focuses on using the blood on the ground and outside of the skin as a weapon against your enemy.”
“An interesting idea,” the priestess murmured as she started thinking about that. Being able to use blood as a weapon would be an interesting idea, but the fundamentals would be needed to enhance the theory. “How does it work?”
The bat demon looked at her in surprise before smiling at her obvious thirst for knowledge. “I’m not well versed in the techniques since I was found unable to handle it, but the theory is to use your own energy to warp it and bend it to your will.”
“Do you have any scrolls on it?”
“Not with me, but I do own a few that hold information on it, as well as other spells.”
“What kinds of other spells?” she was really interested now as this might be able to help their group in their battles.
“I can gather them for you if you like; it’d take me a few days, but I can leave now.”
“Would you?”
“Of course, I do owe you,” he said with a chuckle.

It had been six months since the group set out
and they were weary and tired as they made their way back to
Kaede’s village. Kagome would take Sango home with her and
the two of them would retrieve needed supplies before they would
once again set out. It would only take them a few hours to get
everything, and Sango would return with her daughter to leave in
Kaede’s care.
And they did return four hours later. Kagome had a few extra books with her, but she still had the necessary supplies while Sango carried her daughter to Miroku. Kagome stared at them with sad eyes, wishing that she could be with her own children and Hiei. He hadn’t mated her yet, but she was hoping that he would soon.
They started out then, loading everything onto the three animals that took their larger forms so that they could. After it was all ready, they left the village and headed toward the east. Kagome pulled out a book and started reading as she walked; using her reiki to make sure she didn’t trip on anything. Her book was about magic, and a few of the chapters focused on blood magic. It was an older book, and so contained more knowledge than most books.
As she read through, she made sure to file all the information away in hopes for using it later. It would take a while for her to read all the books she had brought with her, but she was determined to do so. In the long run she hoped that this knowledge would help in upcoming battles.

It would be some time before the final battle
came, and it would be on the day of the tournament in her time that
the battle would take place. Many months had come and gone before
the cowardly Naraku would meet them head on. For the group it had
been years of travel that brought them to the moment, with them
were Sesshoumaru, Kouga, Ayame, Jaken, and Rin. Wolf demon warriors
followed each of the wolves and were ready for the coming battle.
Kuroune had his chain scythes ready and was prepared to take the
coming low levels on.

“Welcome fans to the new Makai Tournament,
I’m Koto and I’ll be your host for this special day.
Now I’ll tell you all the reason behind choosing this date
for the tournament. It was on this day some few hundred years ago
that a tremendous battle shook the world and almost destroyed
everything, so in hopes for…” the announcer trailed off
as all the demons looked to the back of the ‘stadium’
where a glowing barrier had appeared.
“Hiei, do you know what’s goin on?” asked Yusuke as he jogged to his side. A few minutes later and several others joined them, including Kuwabara. The sight in front of them soon turned amazing, for a battle appeared to be going on.
Inside the barrier was where the group was fighting the dark hanyou and his minions. Kagome stood toward the back with her bow ready, while her animals all surrounded her. Tsuki and Hikari were both more powerful looking as each had four tails. Kirara had six and they were all fighting diligently. This would be the final battle and it would have to go well if they hoped to survive. All of them were there to rid the world of this evil and save the future, and none of them knew that their battle would be watched by many.
Sesshoumaru fought with his new sword, Bakusaiga, as he attacked the coming army without mercy. Rin was near Jaken, defending herself with arrows as she had been taught by Kagome. Said woman looked more mature and her muscles were taught as she stood in not a fighting kimono, but miko garb. Instead of the traditional red, she wore black hakama with a silver hoari; a gift from Kuronue. Her eyes were the most different thing about her, instead of her normal blue they were a dark almost black color, but they were weird in that they sparkled with golden specks almost like a night sky.
Inuyasha was different as well since he stood near to his brother with less arrogance and more determination. Miroku was there as well, but he had wards all over his hand. Sango seemed hardened as well as there was a scar down her neck that led toward the front of her catsuit. It was a surprise to see that at her side was a young man cloaked in the same outfit but with different color armor. This was her younger brother Kohaku, and he had been rescued from within Naraku’s control.
The battle was a long one and many comrades from both sides had fallen. Rin was injured but refused to go down and Kagome was just plain missing. She had been injured earlier on and had taken several hits since. Even Sesshoumaru had taken a few strikes and Naraku had yet to even show his face. Things did not appear to be looking good at the moment.
Those outside the barrier that were watching were shocked at the side, and a few were actually afraid. Hiei was one of them as it was his mate-to-be that was fighting and had disappeared. It was at the moment that Inuyasha fell that they all saw as an evil demon appeared. This demon’s power pulsed and covered the entire area, even seeping outside of the barrier and reaching them. The aura gave even Yomi and Mukuro chills. Koenma reached them at that moment.
“What’s going on?”
Koenma looked at Yusuke before sighing, “this is the battle of the Shikon no Tama and it was fought five hundred years ago in this very spot.” Many of the surrounding demons began listening in at that, and Koto appeared with her mike so that they could all hear them. “A rumor in Reikai was that the group who fought against the evil demon were connected to this timeline and that this battle decides the fate of the world. A prophecy was made that the battle would be visible within five hundred years.”
Back in the barrier, Naraku was finally making his move, just as his tentacles were about to pierce through the fallen hanyou’s heart a shining silver barrier surrounded his body and stopped the assault. Another barrier dropped and from behind it stood the missing priestess, Kagome. Her eyes were a darker black, completely changed from their previous color as the gold within was now swirling wildly as her powers rose to the surface. When she spoke her voice was soft, yet it held a hidden power deep within: “it is time for your demise.”
“Even Kikyo could not defeat me, and you think you, her much weaker incarnation and copy can do what she could not.”
“No, I don’t think, I know. I know because I am not Kikyo and I am nothing like her. My name is Kagome, and I am no one’s copy.” Her voice was firm as she stared him down and her face was set. The words she spoke seemed to echo through the clearing as her eyes then turned pure black as she smiled a soft smile. Energy began rising from her form in waves, so much energy that it was almost unbelievable as she stood there. Pure energy flooded the clearing, quickly followed by spirit energy, and soon demonic energy began leaving her form.
The evil demon’s eyes were impossibly wide as he took in the energy she was giving off. “You’re a mere human, how do you possess demonic energy.”
Kagome’s bangs shadowed her eyes before she looked up, and all those outside of the barrier gasped at what was clearly visible. It was the mark of the mazoku and it was plain as day on her face. “Many demons have seen fit to welcome me into their homes and their families. I have been adopted by Raizen of the Central, Sesshoumaru of the West, Kouga of the Southern Wolf Tribes, Ayame of the Northern Tribes, and Shippo of the red kitsune.” Her closed eyes opened then and red began swirling in with the gold.
“It doesn’t matter as you’ve already lost a lot of blood and are merely human, and none of your other comrades can help you now.”
A smile touched her lips then as she looked directly at the injured bat demon that stood not far from her, “blood… So much blood is on the ground, and yet, you know nothing.” Different tattoos began covering her body then as the blood which covered the field so completely began to move across the field. It all began to swirl around her as she held her hand out and created a weapon of blood. “Blood is now my ally, Naraku, and all of my allies despise you.” The girl raced forward, prepared to attack as he met her head on. “For to long you have tortured innocents, and for to long you have tried corrupting the world;” a voice over lapped her own as her blade met his. “For too long you have held our tainted souls, but no longer. Through our priestess, through our power, we will unite to destroy you.”
A scream echoed as the jewel ripped itself from within his body and slammed into Kagome’s chest, turning white as it did so. Her entire body glowed as it lit up the field and when the light finally dissipated, she was there, hovering in the sky as her appearance was changed. The mark of the jewel appeared on her brow as purple sakura petals appeared within. Dark black hair fell to her knees and surrounded her like a halo as the wind tossed it to and fro. Two crescent moons appeared below her eyes, one red and one purple. The mark of the Mazoku also took shape on one cheek as her eyes slowly began to open. They burned a bright pink before settling beck to the dark black as the jewel was fully absorbed into her body.
“Now if you desire the jewel, you must take my soul.”
An evil smirk was on his face as he glared at her, “fair enough.”
A smile also crossed Kagome’s lips as she looked at her nemesis, no, at the world’s nemesis. All that crossed her mind was that it was time for him to die, and the jewel wished for that as well. Blade’s crossed as they battled on and their battle was one that would go down in history for being so magnificent. Her power was an even match for his and she was not even reaching her full extent, but the surprise was when his sword pierced through her stomach. She coughed up blood as he smirked, but then a smile touched her lips as her hands covered the wound.
“You were sloppy Naraku, you forgot one very important detail.”
“And what would that be?”
“That my power of purification lies… within my very blood.” His eyes widened as the blood leaking from her wound suddenly covered him and he began to scream in pain as her purification took effect. “For the lives of my family and friends, I would gratefully give my own.”
“Hiei, do you know what’s goin on?” asked Yusuke as he jogged to his side. A few minutes later and several others joined them, including Kuwabara. The sight in front of them soon turned amazing, for a battle appeared to be going on.

Those in the crowd were shocked at the outcome as
well as the confession, but it was at the moment her words finished
that the barrier shattered and the group appeared and yet vanished
at the same time. The bat demon remained with two of the three
animals, but all the rest disappeared. The miko fell forward and a
wave of energy escaped her form.

Here is the next to last chapter of this story. I
hope you all enjoy and I should also be posting the next chapter in
just a bit as the story is completely finished.
