Chap ter 4 – Broken Well, Broken Dreams
Riding in absolute comfort upon Inuyasha’s back, Kagome allowed her weary mind to wander over all possible futures her life was about to embark on. She decided against enrolling in college, poor Inuyasha has already had to put up with plenty of “tests” and whatnot. She decided, she’d definitely make the feudal era her true home, using the jewel to visit her family from time to time, and to collect certain modern necessities she’d rather not do without. She wondered, wondered if their children would also be able to travel through the well. She’d rather give birth in a modern hospital, with modern medical science at her fingertips, should complications arise. Wait! What was she thinking? Their children would be one-quarter demon! She couldn’t risk having them in her time, what if they were born with dog ears…. Wait. Where’d all these thoughts of children come from in the first place? She sighed a smile, and snuggled herself against Inuyasha’s back, just finding possibly the most comfortable position ever, before he abruptly proclaimed that they had arrived, practically tossing her on her butt when he hadn’t realized she was nearly asleep.
“Oi, Kagome!”
“I’m fine!” she laughed, stumbling a bit.
“What took you guys so long?” asked Sango, Miroku then adding “Yes, I thought for sure you would have arrived before us.”
“Ran into a little wolf trouble.” Inuyasha grumpily explained.
“I see” they said in unison.
“Ye were successful!” Kaede happily proclaimed upon exiting her hut to discover the group of friends had returned.
“Keh, of course we were.”
“Yes, Lady Kaede, thanks to you, and your rosary.”
“It allowed ye the final blow then?”
“Actually,” Kagome informed the old miko “It was Kagura who struck the final blow.”
“Indeed?”
By this time, Kaede had noticed the youth who stood unusually close to Sango, clinching her hands.
“Is this your brother, child?”
“Yes Kaede. Kohaku, meet Kaede.”
Kohaku nervously bowed, afraid the miko would judge him for his crimes. Miroku went on to explain how Sesshomaru had revived Kohaku after Naraku snatched the shard from his back.
“I see, it seems the winds are changing then.”
“Keh, if you mean Sesshomaru ain’t the same bastard he used to be, you’re wrong.”
“I’m not so sure, Inuyasha.” Agreed Kagome “It did seem rather generous of him.”
“Keh, he’s all about nobility, must have realized that Kohaku saved him when he smashed that brat’s mirror, so he felt it his duty to return the deed.”
They all nodded in agreement that Inuyasha was probably right, that Sesshomaru’s acts were purely for himself, and not a gesture to the others in any way, but nevertheless, Sango still had her brother back, and that was all that mattered.
The conversation shifted to more joyous matters. When Miroku’s and Sango’s wedding would be, where they’d live, etc. Sango decided, there was nothing left for her in her old village. It would become a shrine to her family, but she and Miroku would build their hut within Kaede’s village. Everyone’s eyes then shifted to Inuyasha and Kagome, who Keh’d and blushed respectively.
“Inuyasha.” Miroku finally asked, “Will you honor Kagome with a human wedding?”
“Keh, already thought of that monk, we’ll do it in her time, for her family and….stuff.” he chocked out, not able to discuss his love for the girl without blushing uncontrollably.
Shippo was happy that Kagome had settled on making his time her home, he wasn’t sure if he’d have been able to stand loosing another mother. Everyone retired for the evening, utterly exhausted from the battle. Miroku slept with Sango in his arms, and amazingly, he was able to cease from groping her. After all, Kohaku was also present, so he didn’t want to appear to be dishonoring his sister. There was something descent within the monk after all, Shippo thought to himself, chuckling. He snuggled up against Kirara, allowing Kagome some privacy with Inuyasha, who took her outside to sleep within his embrace up in a nearby tree.
~~~~~~~~~~~
This will not do, thought Kikyo, as she observed the young couple.“Inuyasha” she muttered to herself, he not meant to hear “You will keep your promise to me, you will join me in hell.” As she walked away, to put her plan into action.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Inuyasha was ecstatically happy, he actually had Kagome. She was his, she would be his mate, and bare his children, and live with him for all her life. He was momentarily saddened at the realization that he would outlive her, by a few centuries, but no matter, he would cross that bridge when he came to it, and kill himself if need be, to rejoin his mate in the afterlife. But for right now, they had many, many years awaiting them in the world of the living. How stubborn he had been, how could it have taken him so long?
***Flashback***
“Inuyasha, may I speak with you?” asked Miroku as he approached the hanyou, who was pouting by the river.
“Keh, what do you want, monk?”
“It is about Kagome.”
“What about her?”
Though she was currently back in her time taking more tests, Inuyasha would never admit he missed her.
“She will be coming of age by her custom in two days.”
“Keh.”
“Do you intend to tell her how you feel?”
“Keh, like I’d have those types of feelings, you hentai!”
Suddenly, Miroku bashed Inuyasha on the head with his staff, hard….
“Oi, what was THAT for?”
“Trying to knock some sense into you, baka!”
“Nani?”
“Inuyasha, when we defeat Naraku and complete the jewel, Kagome’s quest in our time will be over. If you do not give her an alternative reason to remain here, what makes you think she will of her own device? Though Sango and I would miss her dearly, it is by far you, my hanyou friend, that would miss her the most.”
“Feh”
“Ignore your feelings all you want, but you feel them nonetheless. I was once as stubborn as you. It took me nearly two years to confess my love to Sango, though our love for each other was more than apparent to the rest of the world.”
“Feh”
“Just as you and Kagome laughed behind our backs wondering when on earth we would get our acts together and admit our feelings to each other, so do I and Sango towards the notion of you and Kagome finally becoming a couple.”
“Feh!”
“It is beyond apparent that she’s in love with you, and you with her, but because of your promise to die with Kikyo, Kagome has confided in Sango, repeatedly, that she’s convinced she’s going to loose you, that you love Kikyo and not her!”
“Feh!”
“It is possible this is a misjudgment. Perhaps you were aware she is not yet of age in her time, and did not wish to displease her parents. If this is the case, Inuyasha, then I apologize, and commend you on your nobility. However, you’d better not let this golden opportunity slip through your fingers. Kagome loves you, as a hanyou, remember that. She doesn’t wish to change you. She wishes for your happiness, enough to sacrifice you to hell, if that’s what you truly want. Is that what you truly want?”
Without waiting for a reply, which he was sure wouldn’t be more than “Feh” anyway, Miroku turned on his heals and headed back to the village, where Sango was sewing her birthday present for Kagome.
***End Flashback***
Awaking from the memories, Inuyasha rejoiced when he realized he held Kagome in his arms.
The monk was right, they were all right. He did love her, and he would have missed her dearly, how could he have been so stupid? Snuggling closer to the sleeping Kagome, he wrapped his arms around her tighter, he wouldn’t loose her now.
Somewhere in the midnight forest, a dead girl prepared her revenge. A spell of destruction, meant not to kill. To her, she was being merciful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning brought with it the promise of new lives, as everyone began the mundane activities of preparing for the day, with a glimmer of joy in their eyes. Miroku and Sango had picked out the location where their hut would be built, and had already begun to acquire the necessarily materials. Of course, Kohaku would be staying with them, so it would be a larger than normal hut, with an extra room for her brother to sleep in alone. After all, she had promised to bare his children, can’t very well prepare to do that with one’s younger brother sharing the same room at night. Inuyasha also agreed that Shippo could stay with them in their hut, to which Kagome was forever grateful. She was like a mother to the kit, after all, and had grown quite attached to him. Inuyasha even agreed to train him when he was older, taking on a more fatherly role, as apposed to the annoying older brother role he’d previously had engaged in with the young fox.
By midday the village was busting with activities. The villagers were preparing a celebration in the gang’s honor, over the defeat of Naraku. Kagome was gathering herbs with Kaede, soaking up as much knowledge as she could from the elder miko, who had put Kagome on a daily training schedule in order to heighten her powers. Kohaku ran playfully with Shippo in the fields, completely transformed from the sad boy he was only yesterday. He was still haunted with the memories of all he had done, but was in truth, not responsible for his actions while his mind and body were being controlled like a puppet, so he figured, if his sister could forgive him, then he could also forgive himself. He had decided, in an attempt to make penance for the blood on his hands, he would learn from the local healer, and become a doctor. Kagome had agreed to teach him medicines and techniques that didn’t exist in his time, making him the greatest doctor the feudal era would ever see. That morning, she’d already taught him the art of CPR, and explained about blood pressure and showed him how to check for a pulse. How to use a mirror to check for shallow breathing, and how many infections can be prevented by sterilizing the wound right away, or in his day, cauterizing the wound. She could not emphasize enough the need for sterilization, explaining that everything the local doctor would teach him about stitching up and setting wounds was excellent knowledge to have, but just threw in to make sure he’d first boiled his equipment.
By mid afternoon, Sango and Kagome had retired to the hot springs, while Miroku and Inuyasha still worked on their respective dwellings, but paused in their work a few moments to talk about how happy each one was, and a certain amount of thanks was exchanged on the part of the hanyou.
That night’s celebration went off without a hitch. Kohaku had aided the hunters in gathering meat for the feast, and Shippo provided much of the antics, using his powers of illusions to entertain a crowed of onlookers, almost like a comedic magic show, Kagome mused to herself. Miroku’s personality had grown tenfold, as he had always been in somewhat of a depression over his pending fate, though no one would have known it to look at him now. He and Sango were laughing and dancing to the music. He’d lost his heavy monk robes, and was dressed in a light and easy moving haori and hakama, similar in style to Inuyasha’s, but was mostly black with dark blue accents. Kagome made her token presence among the villagers, and then rejoined Inuyasha in Kaede’s empty hut. He wasn’t much for crowed parties, as she was already aware. The celebration went on into the night, and for several hours, the lone couple had a celebration of their own, as they made their union official.
They were both rather nervous, at first. Sitting down on the futon, Inuyasha gazed up at Kagome, signaling her to join him. Fidgeting with the two necklaces she wore, one being his present, the other the Shikon no Tama, she slowly sat down besides him, on the bed.
Her heart was beating a hundred miles a minute, and it sounded out to Inuyasha’s sensitive ears. They twitched when he heard her sigh, but upon seeing them twitch, Kagome was suddenly shed of her nervousness. Of course she thought, and reached up, again beginning to rub Inuyasha’s sensitive ears. That’ll break the ice. He closed his eyes and indulged in her massaging touch. Slowly, but surely, she could see his body react, as his breathing became heavy, and his face began to sweat. Why’d she never notice it had this effect on him before? Because he’d never let her touch his ears for more than a couple of seconds, before, and now, why made perfect sense.
“Ka…..Kagome!” he finally managed to utter, right before diving forward knocking her over onto her back, as he planted his lips passionately against her own.
This was much more than the simple and sweet kiss they’d shared back in her room, as their tongues explored one another, and he gently grazed her cheeks and chin with his fangs. This act, in turn, began to increase Kagome’s arousal, and he could smell it. Traveling down the side of her neck, he licked and suckled at the junction where her shoulder met her throat, where he would mark her, his mate. Feeling braver now, Inuyasha permitted his hands to explore, something he soon found that Kagome permitted as well, as he placed his hand upon her breast, first on top of her clothing, then underneath it. She didn’t object when he popped off the buttons of her blouse, I can sew them back on she thought, but she stopped him before he sliced off her bra as well, sitting up and reaching behind herself, she unhooked it, and then lied back down. Smiling down at the topless Kagome he saw laying before him, Inuyasha followed suit, removing his haori and under haori, but didn’t stop there, as Kagome soon realized, when she saw him undo the knot, and remove, his hakama. She’d seen him naked before, but only for a fleeting second, and it was an accident. She didn’t know what to do now, part of her was screaming at her to look away, while another part of her was screaming at her to stare. The latter voice won, after all, he was her soon-to-be husband. They’d just have to not let it slip in her time, she thought, that they failed to wait until the wedding night. Keeping his impatience in check, Inuyasha managed to resist the temptation to just slice off her skirt and panties, while he instead, gently slid them down. Inuyasha then found, he too, could not resist the urge to simply stare, stare at his Kagome, his Kagome. She was beautiful, breathtaking, and his. Having discarded Tetsusaiga along with his clothing, his youkai side was free to boil within him, slightly. He would not transform, after all, his life was not in danger, but he did notice his lustier side felt more free, and Kagome noticed too, as he bit down into her neck, proclaiming “Mine.” Looking down into her eyes, Inuyasha was afraid for a moment, when he realized what he’d done, Kagome’s blood dripping from his lips. But she simply smiled up at him, and sticking out her tongue, licked her blood from his exposed fangs. She doesn’t fear me, he thought, more realized, as she looked at him with love, and whispered “Yours.”
They made love for hours, and it felt like an eternity. Though they knew it would eventually have to come to an end, it was an end neither wanted any time soon. Eventually, it was an increasingly stronger desire to not be caught by anyone else who may return, that encouraged the couple to end their first coupling.
As the activities outside began to die down, others did eventually return to the now empty hut, to retire for the night. Kagome had left with Inuyasha, to sleep at the base of the God Tree. She wasn’t cold, clad in fuzzy pajamas, as well as being all wrapped up in his haori, like a blanket, cuddled in his embrace. As she leaned against him, supported in his arms, sitting on the ground leaned up against the tree where they’d first met, she caught Inuyasha’s half-conscious whisper of “mine” as they both drifted off to quiet slumber.
The next morning, our couple rejoined their friends, and after Kagome got dressed back in her school uniform (new blouse of course), they all prepared for a relaxing breakfast. Everyone seemed to lollygag around the village, until the afternoon was pierced with the sound of light arguing echoing through the woods. The sound had made its way to Shippo’s sensitive ears, and he promptly went to see what the commotion was about. A certain ex-monk and demon slayer saw the kitsune run off and followed after him as well.
“But I have to take my finals! If I don’t pass, they can make me retake the entire year!”
“Feh, don’t see why you need to bother with that school stuff any more, now that you’re gonna be living here!”
“I can’t just disappear from the school system, people would wonder what happened to me!”
“Just tell ‘em the truth, that you’ve got a mate, and don’t need those tests any more!”
“Humans don’t take mates, they get married! And we haven’t had my wedding yet!”
“Keh, well then let’s get that over with wench!”
“After I graduate from school!”
“Feh!”
“Why are you guys always fighting?” whined Shippo. Kagome looked down at him, where’d he come from? Looking further behind him, she also saw their other two friends on the approach. She sighed, then laughed, then turned, hugging Inuyasha.
“Oi wench, you lost your mind? I ain’t done fightin’ yet!”
Kagome laughed again, and proclaimed he won (even though she’d still be returning home for her final exams, she didn’t have to leave just yet, and she didn’t want Shippo to see them fighting), as she took him by the hand and walked away from the well, joining up with Miroku and Sango.
“Inuyasha,” Sango started “If it’s important to Kagome, you should support her.”
He just Keh’d, then suddenly sniffed the air frantically, as a new scent had just made its appearance.
“What is it?” asked Kagome.
“Kikyo.” He said plainly, as she and her soul catchers appeared through the trees.
He knew this conversation wouldn’t be avoidable forever, he’d have to tell Kikyo straight to her face, he wasn’t going with her, he’d chosen Kagome.
“Inuyasha.” She said as she approached. Inuyasha requested that Miroku and Sango excuse them for a moment, but quickly gripping Kagome’s hand, he whispered to her “You stay.” Before he returned Kikyo’s acknowledgment. The sheer fact that Inuyasha wasn’t interested in having a private conversation with Kikyo, just the two of them, made her heart jump with happiness. She was his mate now, things were different now.
“Inuyasha, it is time.” She said with a stoic expression.
“Keh, it ain’t time for nothin’, except for you to rest now that Naraku is dead.”
“I will rest, Inuyasha, and you will join me.”
“No, I’m sorry, but I won’t. I’m sorry Kikyo, but I’ve chosen Kagome.”
“Then I shall eliminate your choice!” she cried. Then suddenly, in a show of strength no one would have thought Kikyo possessed, she lunged forward, ripping the Shikon no Tama from its chain around Kagome’s neck, shoving her backwards down the well, and tossing a vial of something in after her.
“Kagome!” Inuyasha cried after her. Cursing Kikyo, he accused her of having lost her mind, then proceeded to claim that she wasn’t the same woman he once loved, acknowledging that she had died 50 years ago. The Kikyo he knew then would have never turned on Kagome as she’d done just now. He managed to snatch the jewel from her hand, and then proceeded to leap into the well after Kagome, only to find that the blue light of time never engulfed him, as he landed on the bottom of the Bone Eater’s Well, surrounded by demonic remains that instantly let him know he was still in his time. Clearly from over the mouth of the well, he heard Kikyo’s voice laughing triumphantly, declaring that the well will not work, nor ever work again, as she’s broken it in Kagome’s time.
“You what!”
“Fear not, Inuyasha, for Kagome is safe, and is that not truly what matters most?” Her lips were dripping with sarcasm.
“You bitch!” he screamed, loud enough to get the attention of Shippo, who went and told Miroku and Sango, who also decided they’d better go check it out, suddenly regretting leaving their companions' sides.
```````````
Kagome arrived violently on her side of time, having been tossed into the well unprepared, and landing rather ungracefully. She had every intention of climbing out of the well just enough to jump right back in again, until she realized that Kikyo had stolen the jewel. But surely, she thought, Inuyasha would come for her any moment. That thought changed to generic panic upon spotting the glowing vial of liquid which sat on the ground near her feet, it had a tainted aura which was growing rapidly, the spell of a dark priestess. Scurrying to climb up out of the well, the vial suddenly exploded, taking the well with it, and launching Kagome the rest of the way up, hurling her across the well house, nearly out the door.

Her heart was beating a hundred miles a minute, and it sounded out to Inuyasha’s sensitive ears. They twitched when he heard her sigh, but upon seeing them twitch, Kagome was suddenly shed of her nervousness. Of course she thought, and reached up, again beginning to rub Inuyasha’s sensitive ears. That’ll break the ice. He closed his eyes and indulged in her massaging touch. Slowly, but surely, she could see his body react, as his breathing became heavy, and his face began to sweat. Why’d she never notice it had this effect on him before? Because he’d never let her touch his ears for more than a couple of seconds, before, and now, why made perfect sense.
“Ka…..Kagome!” he finally managed to utter, right before diving forward knocking her over onto her back, as he planted his lips passionately against her own.
This was much more than the simple and sweet kiss they’d shared back in her room, as their tongues explored one another, and he gently grazed her cheeks and chin with his fangs. This act, in turn, began to increase Kagome’s arousal, and he could smell it. Traveling down the side of her neck, he licked and suckled at the junction where her shoulder met her throat, where he would mark her, his mate. Feeling braver now, Inuyasha permitted his hands to explore, something he soon found that Kagome permitted as well, as he placed his hand upon her breast, first on top of her clothing, then underneath it. She didn’t object when he popped off the buttons of her blouse, I can sew them back on she thought, but she stopped him before he sliced off her bra as well, sitting up and reaching behind herself, she unhooked it, and then lied back down. Smiling down at the topless Kagome he saw laying before him, Inuyasha followed suit, removing his haori and under haori, but didn’t stop there, as Kagome soon realized, when she saw him undo the knot, and remove, his hakama. She’d seen him naked before, but only for a fleeting second, and it was an accident. She didn’t know what to do now, part of her was screaming at her to look away, while another part of her was screaming at her to stare. The latter voice won, after all, he was her soon-to-be husband. They’d just have to not let it slip in her time, she thought, that they failed to wait until the wedding night. Keeping his impatience in check, Inuyasha managed to resist the temptation to just slice off her skirt and panties, while he instead, gently slid them down. Inuyasha then found, he too, could not resist the urge to simply stare, stare at his Kagome, his Kagome. She was beautiful, breathtaking, and his. Having discarded Tetsusaiga along with his clothing, his youkai side was free to boil within him, slightly. He would not transform, after all, his life was not in danger, but he did notice his lustier side felt more free, and Kagome noticed too, as he bit down into her neck, proclaiming “Mine.” Looking down into her eyes, Inuyasha was afraid for a moment, when he realized what he’d done, Kagome’s blood dripping from his lips. But she simply smiled up at him, and sticking out her tongue, licked her blood from his exposed fangs. She doesn’t fear me, he thought, more realized, as she looked at him with love, and whispered “Yours.”
They made love for hours, and it felt like an eternity. Though they knew it would eventually have to come to an end, it was an end neither wanted any time soon. Eventually, it was an increasingly stronger desire to not be caught by anyone else who may return, that encouraged the couple to end their first coupling.
As the activities outside began to die down, others did eventually return to the now empty hut, to retire for the night. Kagome had left with Inuyasha, to sleep at the base of the God Tree. She wasn’t cold, clad in fuzzy pajamas, as well as being all wrapped up in his haori, like a blanket, cuddled in his embrace. As she leaned against him, supported in his arms, sitting on the ground leaned up against the tree where they’d first met, she caught Inuyasha’s half-conscious whisper of “mine” as they both drifted off to quiet slumber.
The next morning, our couple rejoined their friends, and after Kagome got dressed back in her school uniform (new blouse of course), they all prepared for a relaxing breakfast. Everyone seemed to lollygag around the village, until the afternoon was pierced with the sound of light arguing echoing through the woods. The sound had made its way to Shippo’s sensitive ears, and he promptly went to see what the commotion was about. A certain ex-monk and demon slayer saw the kitsune run off and followed after him as well.
“But I have to take my finals! If I don’t pass, they can make me retake the entire year!”
“Feh, don’t see why you need to bother with that school stuff any more, now that you’re gonna be living here!”
“I can’t just disappear from the school system, people would wonder what happened to me!”
“Just tell ‘em the truth, that you’ve got a mate, and don’t need those tests any more!”
“Humans don’t take mates, they get married! And we haven’t had my wedding yet!”
“Keh, well then let’s get that over with wench!”
“After I graduate from school!”
“Feh!”
“Why are you guys always fighting?” whined Shippo. Kagome looked down at him, where’d he come from? Looking further behind him, she also saw their other two friends on the approach. She sighed, then laughed, then turned, hugging Inuyasha.
“Oi wench, you lost your mind? I ain’t done fightin’ yet!”
Kagome laughed again, and proclaimed he won (even though she’d still be returning home for her final exams, she didn’t have to leave just yet, and she didn’t want Shippo to see them fighting), as she took him by the hand and walked away from the well, joining up with Miroku and Sango.
“Inuyasha,” Sango started “If it’s important to Kagome, you should support her.”
He just Keh’d, then suddenly sniffed the air frantically, as a new scent had just made its appearance.
“What is it?” asked Kagome.
“Kikyo.” He said plainly, as she and her soul catchers appeared through the trees.
He knew this conversation wouldn’t be avoidable forever, he’d have to tell Kikyo straight to her face, he wasn’t going with her, he’d chosen Kagome.
“Inuyasha.” She said as she approached. Inuyasha requested that Miroku and Sango excuse them for a moment, but quickly gripping Kagome’s hand, he whispered to her “You stay.” Before he returned Kikyo’s acknowledgment. The sheer fact that Inuyasha wasn’t interested in having a private conversation with Kikyo, just the two of them, made her heart jump with happiness. She was his mate now, things were different now.
“Inuyasha, it is time.” She said with a stoic expression.
“Keh, it ain’t time for nothin’, except for you to rest now that Naraku is dead.”
“I will rest, Inuyasha, and you will join me.”
“No, I’m sorry, but I won’t. I’m sorry Kikyo, but I’ve chosen Kagome.”
“Then I shall eliminate your choice!” she cried. Then suddenly, in a show of strength no one would have thought Kikyo possessed, she lunged forward, ripping the Shikon no Tama from its chain around Kagome’s neck, shoving her backwards down the well, and tossing a vial of something in after her.
“Kagome!” Inuyasha cried after her. Cursing Kikyo, he accused her of having lost her mind, then proceeded to claim that she wasn’t the same woman he once loved, acknowledging that she had died 50 years ago. The Kikyo he knew then would have never turned on Kagome as she’d done just now. He managed to snatch the jewel from her hand, and then proceeded to leap into the well after Kagome, only to find that the blue light of time never engulfed him, as he landed on the bottom of the Bone Eater’s Well, surrounded by demonic remains that instantly let him know he was still in his time. Clearly from over the mouth of the well, he heard Kikyo’s voice laughing triumphantly, declaring that the well will not work, nor ever work again, as she’s broken it in Kagome’s time.
“You what!”
“Fear not, Inuyasha, for Kagome is safe, and is that not truly what matters most?” Her lips were dripping with sarcasm.
“You bitch!” he screamed, loud enough to get the attention of Shippo, who went and told Miroku and Sango, who also decided they’d better go check it out, suddenly regretting leaving their companions' sides.
```````````
Kagome arrived violently on her side of time, having been tossed into the well unprepared, and landing rather ungracefully. She had every intention of climbing out of the well just enough to jump right back in again, until she realized that Kikyo had stolen the jewel. But surely, she thought, Inuyasha would come for her any moment. That thought changed to generic panic upon spotting the glowing vial of liquid which sat on the ground near her feet, it had a tainted aura which was growing rapidly, the spell of a dark priestess. Scurrying to climb up out of the well, the vial suddenly exploded, taking the well with it, and launching Kagome the rest of the way up, hurling her across the well house, nearly out the door.
