Chapter 6: Inuyasha's Reasons
In the last chapter…..
“Please Sesshoumaru; I need to talk to you”
Sesshoumaru stood, anger in his eyes. “Why should I talk to you, Inuyasha?” Sesshoumaru asked angrily. “Sesshoumaru, please, I understand you hate me, and trust me, I don't like you either, but seeing you like this is too much to handle. I need to speak with you” Inuyasha answered. Sesshoumaru snarled but then said. “Fine”
Inuyasha then led Sesshoumaru farther from Kagome and Sango. “Ok now, I have to tell you the reason I am here.” Inuyasha stated and Sesshoumaru just glared. “You know that I was taken away by Naraku. He had erased my memory against my will. He then told me I was his son; I believed him since my memory was lost and he was like a father to me. But when Kagome—your master—had arrived, my memory has returned.” Inuyasha then pointed to Kagome, who was still talking to Sango. “Naraku is up to something; he's even marrying a girl WAY younger then him. He is a sick man Sesshoumaru, I need your help. Naraku is up to something; I don't know what yet but I want to find out.” Sesshoumaru looked to the ground, taking all of this new information in. “I see…” he said, a growl caught in his throat. The growl wasn't for Inuyasha this time thought, no, it was for Naraku.
Sesshoumaru looked up to Inuyasha, who looked back at him pleadingly. “This Sesshoumaru can't do much…but…fine” he said as his answer. He looked to see Kagome laughing; he didn't notice himself smiling.
Inuyasha noticed though and turned to look at Kagome. `Hmmm, this is weird' he thought then shrugged. He turned back to his half brother. “Thank you Sesshoumaru, I will talk to you once I find out his plan.” With that, Inuyasha left Sesshoumaru.
Sesshoumaru walked back to Kagome when she called him. Sango had left to the library and Kagome wanted to go too, so Sesshoumaru and Kagome left the garden to the library. They didn't expect to see Naraku there.
“Sweet heart, there you are!” Naraku said and hugged Kagome. She grimaced. “I was wondering if you would like your family to be at our wedding.” He said. “Emperor Naraku, it is a long time before our marriage.” Kagome answered calmly. “Yes my sweet dove, but planning ahead of time is a smart thing to do” Naraku said then walked out. “Grrrrrr, sweet dove my ass” Kagome whispered thinking no one could hear her. Of course, she was wrong because Sesshoumaru did hear her with his extremely good sense of hearing. He smirked.
“Sango, I think he's planning on something…” Kagome said and Sango nodded. Sesshoumaru then interrupted their thinking. “If I may be of any help milady, I would believe that he is planning on marrying you early.” He said softly then sat on the ground.
Kagome looked at him stunned; first because of what he said, and second, because he had actually spoken on free will. She realized that his voice was actually quite soothing. It was silent for a few moments as Kagome kept staring at Sesshoumaru surprised. Sango was the one to break the silence.
“Do you really think he would do that, Sesshoumaru?” Sango asked. He nodded. “ But, I am but a slave; you shouldn't listen always to what I say.” He said casually. Sango and Kagome stared at him for a few moments, and then decided to believe him.
“Oh god, what are we going to do Sango?” Kagome asked frantically. “I have no idea, but we need to do something.” Sango answered then started thinking. “Maybe Sesshoumaru can give advice” she whispered to Kagome, thinking that Sesshoumaru couldn't hear. Wrong, he could.
“I Sesshoumaru do not give advice.” He said. “Please, Sesshoumaru!” Sango pleaded, a pout on her face. “I don't have any” he answered, turning away from them. Kagome stood up and kneeled in front of Sesshoumaru. “You must have some idea, after all, you did know what he was planning without him telling you.” She said.
Sesshoumaru sighed, he wasn't going to get out of this, and he had to obey his master. “Fine, I do know one thing you could do…” Sesshoumaru said, closing his eyes. “Yes?” Kagome asked, not realizing she put her hand on top of his hand.
Sesshoumaru looked down when he felt her soft touch, then said “If you mind taking advice from a slave, you could run away.” He shook her hand off. Kagome gasped when she realized what she did then looked to the ground. “Run away…” she whispered then looked at Sango.
Sango stared back then yelled “THAT'S IT!!!” Sesshoumaru covered her ears. Sango jumped up from her seat and ran to Kagome. “That's exactly what you should do, run away” She said happily. “I should?” Kagome asked, turning to Sango. “Yes, then you could be completely free, hell, I'll go with you.”
“I-I guess it wouldn't be so bad… and maybe Miroku will go…” Kagome said then turned to Sesshoumaru. “What about you, will you go?”
Sesshoumaru thought for a few moments. “I don't really have a choice milady.” He said. “Alright, it's settled, I'll go tell Miroku then we will leave ton-MPH” Sango was cut of by—surprisingly—Sesshoumaru who cupped his hand over her mouth. “Shhhh” he whispered.
Sesshoumaru had a good reason; he smelt Naraku's putrid scent, and the slave trainer had told him to protect his master, so he was going to.
When Naraku was extremely close to the library Sesshoumaru let go of her. Naraku then walked in. “Sweet dove of mine, I would like it if you joined me for dinner.” Kagome hesitantly nodded then left with Naraku, Sesshoumaru following.
Kagome turned to look at Sango then mouthed. `Tonight'
Sango nodded then ran out to tell Miroku about the plan.

Preview: The escape
Sesshoumaru helped Kagome off of the balcony; he realized that not all of his youkai powers were gone, he could still run fast and his strength was a little better than a normal man.
When Kagome had gotten down, he asked “Milady, couldn't you have used the stairs?” There were stairs on the side of the balcony. “No, it would be too loud.” She replied.
