[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha or it's characters

A/N- Alright, after a very looooong hiatus from this fic, which mainly due to major writers block and plot problems, have decided to revamp and edit everything. Which means I have to do some major self ass kicking If I want to get this ship of a story off to sea. So please be patient with me as this is going to be a long tedious process for me (i.e. Queen of Procrastination)
And as always please review!( It really does help me a lot *wink*)

WARNING! MAJOR SPOILER FOR MANGA CHAPTER 460+! I highly suggest that you read the chapter called Light( I think it's # 465) from here :

Prologue: A Nightmare Reality

She was dying and it was all her fault.

She watched as Kikyo said her last words to him, before finally being set free into the dark night. Inuyasha solemnly watched as the dead stolen souls floated across the black blanket of sky, with tears continuing to freely flow in rivers on his face. One soul however swirled around them, surrounding the bystanders with its ghostly warmth. It circled around them once more before heading to its destination.

The impact from the previously lost portion of her soul colliding into her trembling body sent Kagome reeling to her knees. The preceding warmth of her soul reclaimed from Kikyo was soon replaced by extreme anguish, and her chest heaved as she mourned the loss of Kikyo.

`Oh Kikyo, I'm so sorry! I tried to save you, but… it wasn't enough!'

And it was indeed true. She had tried. But her arrow hadn't been enough. In the end her efforts hadn’t been enough to save her previous incarnation. Kagome's body began to shake with noiseless sobs as she succumbed to unexpected grief.

Just a little ways away, Miroku and Sango both were equally solemn. Recently both had come to harness respect for the newly departed miko and both of their hearts ached to se her go. Even Shippo and Kirara were unusually reserved.

Kagome's voiceless sobs soon turned mournful cries.

`Why?! Why couldn't I save her?' She held on to her knees as her sobs increased.

A masculine voice laced with bitterness spoke, stilling her cries.

“Shut up,” Kagome gasped, her body shaking with hiccups.

“Huh?” She questioned, looking up to see the back of the owner of the voice standing in front of her.

“You killed her.”

“W-what?!” She choked out. She suddenly felt a stir in power radiating from his location.

You killed her!” He whirled around, leaving Kagome face to face with a transformed Inuyasha.

Kagome cowered to the grass as he began to approach her.

“I-Inuyasha.” She whimpered, her voice wavering in apprehension.
He took no heed of the pleading look in her eyes and came closer until he towered over her quivering form.
They stayed that way for what seemed like an eternity to Kagome. Out of the corner of her eyes she saw him flex his claws.

“Please…” she pleaded with her entire being.

Kagome looked up into Inuyasha’s scarlet and turquoise eyes to find nothing but pure hatred. The corners of his mouth slowly turned up into a mirthful grin.

In less than a blink of an eye he struck.

Kagome watched in horror as she saw and felt something warm flowing from her side.

The last thing she recalled was seeing the redness of her own blood before her world faded to black.
