A/N: Wow I got more reviews!!! Yeah!! *does happy dance!* I know that I am making Inuyasha out to a little weak in the fic but there is a reason for that. Inuyasha has a lot to deal with. He was used to having to protect Kagome and everyone else and all of sudden Kagome is a force to be reckoned with. Don't worry Inuyasha is going to get really strong soon too. Also to answer one of my reviewers Kikyo will NOT be in this fic. I really REALLY dislike her!!! *looks at her voodoo Kikyo doll covered in pins* Also about the spelling and grammar Linzee is working really hard on fixing up my errors. Some of the chapters I have posted before she has had a chance to edit them. My bad but I get in such a hurry to post.

A/N: Also "~~~~" means a flashback. With that here is chapter twelve!! Please keep reviewing. Reviews make me want to write more!!!

Chapter Twelve

The Village of the Kitsune

Inuyasha sat fidgeting in front of Sango and Miroku. Sango was glaring daggers at Inuyasha and Inuyasha growled annoyed at Sango. Inuyasha wanted to go after Kagome but after the row that he had had with Sango he wasn't looking forward to another fight. What the hell is up with women and their attitude! They look all cute and innocent until you piss them off and then they make Naraku look like a cute little butterfly. But Sango had a good point even if he didn't agree with it.

Inuyasha walked back into the clearing with Miroku. His arms were full of fire wood and he was still thinking about the kiss that Kagome had given him. He was looking forward to getting another kiss from her when they got back. Inuyasha's eyes fell upon Sango, Shippo and Rin all sitting together. Rin was looking at all the things from Kagome's time and asking Sango a million questions about everything.

Inuyasha dropped his fire wood and stretched. He sniffed the air and couldn't smell Kagome around. "Sango where is Kagome?"

Sango looked up at Inuyasha as she was arranging the fire wood to start a fire. "Kagome-chan will be back in a little while Inuyasha. She wants us to eat and by the time we are done she will be back."

"Nothing is wrong is it Sango?" asked Miroku as he looked through Kagome's things for the "lighter" that they now used to start to fires with.

"No Houshi-sama nothing is wrong. Kagome-chan just had something that she wanted to take care of before we left on the journey."

Inuyasha looked around and noticed that Kagome's things were there but her bag was not. Then it hit Inuyasha. She went back to her time! Inuyasha made to run into the forest behind Sango but she was up and in his way before he had even taken four steps.

"Inuyasha Kagome-chan says that she would like you to stay here. She will be back in a little while. She needs to do this and it wouldn't help if you were there trying to drag her back."

"How could she go back to her own time and not even tell anyone! Why should I wait here!"

"First off Inuyasha do I look like no one! I was here when Kagome-chan made the decision to go home! Secondly she needed to go home. She wanted to get more supplies and to talk with her family!"

"Keh!" Inuyasha folded his arms across his chest, "Move Sango or I will move you myself."

"You can just try and move me Inuyasha!" Inuyasha flatted his ears against his skull. She was yelling now. "Inuyasha how can you be such an insensitive jerk all the time! This may very well be Kagome-chan's last time to see her family. What if something happened to her and she didn't get a chance to say good-bye to mother and brother and grandfather?! So you just leave her alone and let her do this!"

"Nothing is going to happen to her! I will protect Kagome! I will always be there for her so she doesn't need to `say good-bye' to her family!"

"Inuyasha you baka! Do you honestly believe that you can protect her all the time? She knows that you will always be there for her and she is very grateful but we are now entering into a war and anything can happen. She is doing this for herself. She wants her family to know how much she loves them. So you can just sit down and eat some lunch with the rest of us and wait for Kagome-chan to come back." With that said Sango sat down and started to make the little food that Kagome had left.

Inuyasha let everything sink in. He was not going to loss Kagome. But Sango did have a point. Kagome did need her family. Inuyasha growled impatiently and sat down across from Sango and watched her make the ramen.

Inuyasha was now getting a little more then pissed. He had been waiting for what felt like forever and still Kagome hadn't come back. They had finished eating and Sango and Miroku had even starting packing what they could in the pack that Kaeda had lent them. Inuyasha closed his eyes willing himself to calm down. Suddenly a familiar scent crossed his nose and his eyes flew open. I didn't even notice that Sesshoumaru was gone!

Inuyasha opened his eyes and jumped up. He was about to jump into the woods when Sesshoumaru's blur came crashing through the trees closely followed by Kirara. Sango screamed and Miroku placed his hand over his heart breathing heavily.

"Sesshoumaru what gives! You scared us half to de…" Sango never finished her sentenced as she watched as Sesshoumaru eased Kagome on the ground. She looked pale and looked like she was about to be sick. Sango jumped up but was beaten to Kagome by Inuyasha.

Inuyasha took one look at Kagome and ran to her side. She looked like she was sick. Inuyasha reached Kagome and pulled her into his chest. "Kagome are you alright? Are you hurt? What happened?"

Kagome reached around Inuyasha and pulled him close. Inuyasha could smell her fear and that she had recently been sick. Inuyasha held her close to him as she shook slightly. Sango knelt down beside them and placed her hand on Kagome's forehead.

"Kagome-chan you feel all clammy. What is wrong?"

Inuyasha felt Kagome stir and saw that she was looking at Sango. "I am alright but we have to leave and we have to leave now!" Inuyasha could hear the panic in her voice and a wave of fear came off of her.

"Kagome-sama what is wrong? What happened to you in your world?" Miroku was standing just behind Inuyasha and looking down upon her. Shippo and Rin were standing just behind Sango and both of them looked close to tears.

"It wasn't in my world Miroku-sama. A great darkness has been unleashed. I can sense it. It is coming right for us. We have to leave and now."

"A great darkness? Are youkai coming this way?" Sango asked as she brushed a few hairs out of Kagome's face.

"They are not youkai." Everyone jumped slightly at hearing Sesshoumaru speak.

"Then what the hell is making Kagome this way?!" Inuyasha was getting angry again. Everything was happening so fast and he had no clue what was going on. And the worst of it was that he couldn't help Kagome to feel better or protect her. It was as if her very soul was under attack and it all happened because of that clearing and something that happened in the past.

"They are known as the Tsunio. They are beings of shadows. They have no physical form and thus can not be harmed by any blade or weapon of this world. They are not youkai either. These creatures were used by Ryuzaburo in his war. They only ones that stood a chance against them were mikos and priests."

"Why is that Sesshoumaru?" Miroku asked as he glanced at Kagome. Inuyasha felt Kagome nuzzle closer into him at his mention of these creatures.

"These creatures are the souls of fallen youkai in battle. Ryuzaburo would steal from there dead bodies with all their hatred, anger and lust for power and with his power he changed them into creatures of shadows. They now do his bidding and only the purifying powers of mikos and priests can stop them. During the war Ryuzaburo used them to get past our defenses and kill all the humans, youkais and hanyous that lived within the Western Lands.

`Hitomi and Sorano used to travel from village to village destroying these creatures. And now it seems that Naraku has found a way to unleash them from the realm of darkness and they are headed this way. My only guess is that Naraku is going to try and get rid of the Sacred Miko so that she can not unseal Sorano."

"Sesshoumaru how long before they get here?" Inuyasha asked. He was surprisingly calm even to himself. I have to stay calm. I need the facts before we move out. I need to protect my Kagome. I will not let Naraku kill her!

"They travel through shadows. They can not move very fast during the day but once night falls they were move as fast as I can. That is way we need to leave now. I have already tied the packs that the miko had with her to this neko youkai. The miko will travel with me and the rest of you can travel on the neko youkai and Aun. They will be able to kept up with me or at least smell where I am."

"Kagome will be traveling with me Sesshoumaru!" Inuyasha growled as he held Kagome even closer to him.

Sesshoumaru glared at Inuyasha. "We do not have time to argue Inuyasha. I am the fasted on land here. If you want to protect the miko them she will need to travel with me. Once we get to the village the powers of the priests there will keep the Tsunio at bay. And by traveling at my speed we could reach the village just after night fall."

Inuyasha looked at Kagome who was holding onto him tightly. She was still shaking and fear still heavily laced her otherwise sweet scent. He wanted to protect Kagome with everything within him. And Sesshoumaru was the faster of the two of them when they were on land. Inuyasha slowly stood up, bringing Kagome with him, and walked over to Sesshoumaru.

Inuyasha spoke only loud enough for Sesshoumaru to hear him, "Alright Sesshoumaru Kagome will travel with you. If anything happens to her I will personally rip you apart with my claws. And if you touch her I will make your death a slow and painful one." Inuyasha stared into Sesshoumaru's cold eyes. Sesshoumaru inclined his head slightly at Inuyasha's words.

"Kagome," Kagome slowly lifted her head and looked at Inuyasha; "You will be traveling with Sesshoumaru. I will be right behind you. This is the only way to make it to the village by the end of today."

Kagome nodded slowly and hugged Inuyasha tightly. Inuyasha held her close to him and breathed in her scent. "We have to leave now. Rin, Jaken you two will be riding on Aun. Houshi, Exterminator, Kitsune you will riding on the neko youkai." Inuyasha felt Sesshoumaru's eyes on him but he kept his eyes focused on the crown of Kagome's head. "You can ride on Aun. He is the faster of the two youkai. He will be able to keep up with me better then the neko youkai." Inuyasha nodded and released Kagome.

Kagome looked into Inuyasha's eyes and smiled slightly. She was still pale and Inuyasha could tell that she was very weak. Inuyasha ran his thumb gently across her cheek and leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips. Kagome returned the kiss and Inuyasha let her go.

Sesshoumaru placed his hand on Kagome's shoulder and she slowly turned around. "Miko grab around my neck." Kagome reached up and wrapped her arms around Sesshoumaru's neck. Inuyasha's eyes twitched as he watched Kagome "embrace" his brother. Sesshoumaru wrapped his arm around Kagome and held her firmly to him.

Sesshoumaru looked up at the others. "We leave now." With that said Sesshoumaru took off. He was through the clearing and into the woods within a few seconds. Inuyasha heard Kagome squeak out of surprise and Inuyasha felt anger rise in him as Kagome wrapped her legs around him to keep a better grip on him.

Inuyasha turned and ran towards the others. "Let's move out!" Inuyasha picked up Rin and cradled her in his arm and grabbed Jaken by the back of his kimono. Inuyasha ran to Aun and through Jaken on his back and jumped up behind him, still holding Rin securely in his arm he grabbed the rains and gabbed his ankles into Aun's sides. "Let's go!"

Aun shot after Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha was momentarily surprised by the dragon's speed. Just ahead of them he could make out flashes and blurs of white. Inuyasha knew that Sesshoumaru and Kagome were just ahead of them but he couldn't make either of them out clearly. Hang on Kagome we'll be there soon!

Kagome had closed her eyes as the blurs from the country side were making her dizzy. She held onto Sesshoumaru firmly but not too firmly as to constrict his movement as he ran. They had been moving swiftly for about an hour and yet Sesshoumaru hadn't slowed a bit. Kagome couldn't believe how fast Sesshoumaru was moving and that he had the stamina to keep going at this speed.

"Sesshoumaru something has been bothering me since we left." Kagome didn't open her eyes as she spoke.

"And what is that miko?" replied Sesshoumaru in his usually emotionless voice.

"Well first off the name is Kagome. Not miko or Sacred miko. I give you the common courtesy of calling you by your name the least you can do is call me by mine. And secondly since the Tsunio are now after us does that mean that Ryuzaburo is now unsealed?"

Though Kagome couldn't see Sesshoumaru's face she knew that he was deep in thought. "If Ryuzaburo was unsealed more then just his Tsunio would be after us."

"Then how is that they are unleashed and coming after us if he is still sealed?"

"My only conclusion is that Naraku had unleashed them. But how I am not sure. Naraku is not there master and they only ever listened to Ryuzaburo. Even the youkai that followed Ryuzaburo could not control them."

"Naraku must have used a Shikon Shard to unleash them."

"No that would not have worked. Hitomi sealed Ryuzaburo away and if something as easy as a shard from the Shikon no Tama could unseal them then they would have been unsealed long ago. Sorano is now the one that maintains the seal on Ryuzaburo and her powers are far stronger then a Shikon Shard."

Kagome bit her lip and then slowly continued thinking very hard how to word her next statement. "What if Ryuzaburo set them loose? What is Naraku found a way to get Ryuzaburo to speak. Would that have set them loose?"

"What are you talking Kagome?"

Kagome smiled when she heard Sesshoumaru finally use her name. "Well in my world I heard a strange voice inside my head. I had never heard that voice before and I can only think that the voice had belonged to Ryuzaburo. It recited a strange saying. Almost as if he was giving a clue on how to unseal him. Could that have freed the Tsunio?"

Sesshoumaru was quiet for a while and Kagome could only guess that he was deep in thought yet again. After a few minutes of silence Kagome was getting anxious to know what it is that he thought about what she told him. "Sesshoumaru?"

"Do you remember what it is that the voice said?"

"No not really. It was painful and my head hurt and then when it stopped I was sick. It was saying something about a person whose life was not theirs and that there heart would love even the coldest of hearts and something about the purest soul."

"Did the voice happen to say `Purity of Soul, Love of Heart, Blood of Life, United together, Within Forever'?"

Kagome froze. She had heard that before. "Yes! The voice said that to me and then the stuff about souls, hearts, and lives. What does that mean?"

"That saying Kagome is engraved upon your katana."

"What?!"

"That saying is a very ancient miko spell. When the purity of soul and the love of heart is united with blood of life it creates forever. This spell is used in only times of great need. You used it against me when we fought. Since you did not know what you were doing it did not do as much damage as it could have."

Kagome remembered back to her fight with Sesshoumaru. When he had her trapped she cut herself and let her blood run down the blade. Then the blood was absorbed into the jewel and the engravings and then threw Sesshoumaru back. "So why would Ryuzaburo be saying that?"

Again Sesshoumaru was silent. Kagome was getting impatient. But she knew that Sesshoumaru was thinking and she was just grateful that he was even keeping up a conversation with her.

"That spell must be needed to unseal him. That is why the Tsunio are after you. They need you to do that spell to unseal Ryuzaburo."

"So then they don't wish to…" Kagome suddenly opened her eyes. It was getting dark and she sensed something coming. It was coming fast and seemed to be on both sides of them.

"Kagome what is it?" Kagome could feel Sesshoumaru tense up slightly.

"They are here! They are on both sides of us!"

Kagome gasped as she felt Sesshoumaru put in another burst of speed. Kagome was surprised that Sesshoumaru still had enough strength to run this fast after traveling for such a long time.

"Sesshoumaru what about the others?!"

"They are not after the others. They are after you. They will leave the others alone since they were only ordered to come and get you."

"How far are we from the village?"

"It is just past the next ridge. If we can get to it the Kitsune will help us."

"Kitsune? In the village there are Kitsune!"

"Yes it is a village of Kitsune. Yuki-chan was part Kitsune so Hitomi decided that it was best to seal her within a village of her own kind. The Kitsune of the village will remember me and come to our aid."

"How are they going to help us?! Kitsune can't use purifying power?!"

"No but they can use Kitsune-bi which sends off a lot of light and the Tsunio can not move around since there are not any shadows to travel through."

Kagome looked to her right and then left. The sun was setting fast and she couldn't make out anything that was on either of them. Suddenly Kagome screamed out as she felt something grab onto her ankle. Sesshoumaru was thrown off balance and they crashed hard into the ground.

Sesshoumaru threw Kagome up into the air as not to crush her body into the ground as he fell. Kagome tried to kick her ankle free before she hit the ground but couldn't. From the speed that they were traveling and the fact that something was holding onto her ankle Kagome hit the ground hard and rolled about six feet unto her back rammed into the trunk of a tree.

Kagome yelled out in pain as her back hit full force into the tree trunk. Kagome saw little lights dancing in front of eyes as she tried to blink them away. Kagome rolled onto her side and tried to focus on the forest around her. All she could see were shadows. Kagome looked up and saw the last of the sun's ray vanish as the night swept across the sky.

Kagome looked down at her ankle and saw that a ribbon of shadows was wrapped tightly around her left ankle. It was so tight that Kagome was losing feeling in her foot. Just as Kagome was about to reach down and try and pry it off she felt it pull her away from the tree and threw her through the air. Kagome screamed out as she skimmed over the ground and was thrust into another trunk of a tree.

Kagome's stomach hit the tree and from the force Kagome coughed up blood. She slid down the tree and landed in a heap on the roots of the trees. Kagome tried to move but was shaking too much out of the pain. Kagome closed her eyes and tried not to throw up again.

"KAGOME!" Kagome opened her eyes slightly and saw Inuyasha gliding through the air and came to land beside her.

"Inuyasha…" Inuyasha knelt down and pulled her into his chest.

"Kagome what happened?!" Inuyasha held onto Kagome tightly. Kagome yelped and Inuyasha pulled away from her. "Kagome?"

"I think I broke or bruised some ribs. My ankle Inuyasha. Something is holding onto my ankle."

Kagome sat up slightly and pointed to her ankle. Kagome watched as Inuyasha looked down her legs and his eyes came to rest on the strange ribbon of shadows that were wrapped around her ankle. "What the hell?! Why didn't Sesshoumaru protect you!"

"Sesshoumaru! Oh my goodness! Where is Sesshoumaru?!" Kagome sat up a little more and ignored the pain in her chest and back.

"Kagome-chan! Kagome-sama!" Kagome looked up and saw Miroku and Sango, riding on Kirara, coming down upon them. Then the idea hit her! Kirara can be of some help!

"Sango-chan I need Kirara!" Kagome watched as Sango and Miroku both jumped off of Kirara and come running towards her. Kagome ignored the fact the shadow was now wrapping itself further up her leg.

"Kagome-chan what is that on your leg?!"

Kagome looked down and saw that the shadow had wrapped itself up to her knee. She couldn't feel her leg at all. "I have no idea what is on my leg but I need Kirara to change into her little neko form and she needs to be as close to me as possible."

"Kagome-chan if she does that you could end up being burned," Sango looked at Kagome with concern in her eyes.

"Don't worry Sango-chan I will be fine. It is the only way to make the shadow let go."

Sango nodded and called Kirara over to her. Kagome looked at Inuyasha and he nodded. He slowly let her go and backed away. Kagome could feel the shadow slowly starting to pull on her leg. "Hurry Kirara!"

Kirara roared and burst into flames. Kagome heard the shadow hiss and quickly let go of her. Before the shadow had even fully let go of her Inuyasha was pulling her up and away from the tree. Sango reached down and grabbed onto Kirara and pulled her away. Kagome clung onto Inuyasha for support. Sango was in her armor and Miroku was standing with his staff held out before him.

Inuyasha held onto Kagome with his left arm as he used his right hand to draw out Tessaiga. Tessaiga flashed and changed into the powerful fang. Kagome could still not fully feel her left leg. Every time she put a little weight on it it would sting as if pins and needles were running through her leg.

"We're surrounded!" gasped Kagome.

Inuyasha felt Kagome shutter against his side. Inuyasha glanced sideways at Kagome and saw that her eyes were filled with fear. Her scent was once again heavily laced with fear. She was looking all around them. Inuyasha's eyes were darting around the area continuously. Every little movement was drawing his attention. Inuyasha turned his head and made sure that Miroku and Sango were alright. Kirara had transformed into her full neko youkai form once again and her hackles were raised. Sango had her Hiraikotsu out before her and Miroku was holding his staff and had a purifying scroll in his other hand.

"It's as if they are watching us," whispered Kagome, "What are they waiting for?"

"Kagome can you sense how many there are?" asked Inuyasha as he tightened his hold on Kagome.

Kagome shook her head, "No I can't Inuyasha. It's as if they are constantly merging and shifting. I can't pin point if there are one or a hundred."

Inuyasha screwed up his face as an intense shrieking and hissing filled the clearing. It started out sounding like a strong wind but now Inuyasha knew it was the Tsunio making that god awful noise. Inuyasha felt Kagome start to slide down his side.

"Kagome?! What's wrong?" Inuyasha couldn't get a good enough grip on Kagome and hold onto Tessaiga at the same time. Inuyasha thrust Tessaiga into the ground and helped Kagome to the ground. She had her eyes screwed shut and had her hands over her ears. She was shaking uncontrollably. "Please Kagome! Talk to me!"

"Inuyasha… make it… them… stop…" Tears were slowly forming at the corners of her eyes.

"Kagome… Miko… come… to us… Kagome… to us… Miko…" Kagome screamed out in pain and pulled away from Inuyasha and fell on the other side of the half sticking out of the ground Tessaiga.

Inuyasha growled and turned to Miroku, "Miroku you're a Houshi can't you do something!?"

Miroku handed Sango his staff and held the purifying scroll behind him. Miroku closed his eyes and started to chant something under his breath. The scroll ignited into light blue flames. Miroku opened his eyes and threw it into the shadows. The shadows recoiled and pulled away from the scroll. They were hissing and shrieking even more now but Kagome wasn't shaking as much as before.

"Great work Houshi-sama! We might… AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!" Sango never finished her sentence as a shadow had snuck up behind her and grab her around her upper thigh and pulled her away. Kirara roared and tried to slash at the shadow. The only thing that happened was her claws going straight through the shadow but not freely Sango.

Sango fought at the shadow as it dragged her across the ground. Sango had lost her grip on Hiraikotsu and her katana was bent back and she couldn't reach it. "Sango!!" Miroku ran after Sango as she was dragged towards to heart of the shadows. Miroku reached into his robes and pulled out another purifying scroll. Just as he was starting to chant a stream of shadows shot at Miroku. They wrapped themselves around his wrist, waist, right ankle and his throat.

Miroku gasped and with his free hand he tried to free himself. "Miroku-sama! Sango-chan!" Kagome tried to stand up but was too weak and fell back to the ground. Inuyasha was tore between Kagome and running after the others. Inuyasha looked at Miroku and Sango just as their last efforts were defeated and they were dragged into the heart of the shadows.

"NNNOOOO!!!!" screamed Kagome and Kirara roared out in anger and charged at the shadows. "No Kirara come back! You can't help them!" Kirara just ignored Kagome and charged into the shadows and vanished.

Inuyasha sniffed around and could no longer smell there friends. But he couldn't smell blood either. Inuyasha turned back to Kagome and saw that she was rocking back and forth on the ground. Inuyasha knelt down and placed his hands on her shoulders and stopped her from rocking.

"Kagome it wasn't were fault we will get them back. I promise you that!"

"It is my fault Inuyasha they were after me! I should have just let them have me and then none of this would have happened!"

Inuyasha cupped her chin and pulled her head up to look at him. "It was not your fault Kagome! I will never let them have you. I will not let them kill you!"

Inuyasha stopped suddenly when everything in the clearing went silent. Inuyasha couldn't even hear Kagome's breathing anymore. Inuyasha looked at Kagome and saw her mouth something but no sound came out. Inuyasha felt chills running up and down his spine.

"Miko… we have come for you… you will come with us without resistance or your friends will die…" Kagome and Inuyasha both looked over to where Sango and Miroku and Kirara had vanished. Suddenly they appeared. They were wrapped in ribbons of shadows and they were all unconscious. Inuyasha's eyes widened as Sesshoumaru also appeared wrapped in ribbons of shadows as well.

"Now Miko come will us… they will live if you come with us now…"

Inuyasha felt Kagome start to stand up. Inuyasha pulled her to him and glared at her. Inuyasha stared into Kagome's eyes and could see that she was pleading with him to let her go. I'm sorry Kagome but you are more important to me. I know we can find a way to help them without you having to go with them. I know we can!

Kagome was beyond scared now. How on earth was she going to convince Inuyasha to let her go. If she could just go the Tsunio would release her friends. Kagome turned her head and glanced at Sango, Miroku, Kirara, and Sesshoumaru. They all looked pale and Kagome knew that they were hurt.

"Kagome?"

Kagome jumped at the sound of the familiar emotionless voice. He was talking to her through his thoughts. "Sesshoumaru?"

"You must use the ancient spell that we talked about earlier. It is the only way to stop the shadows."

"If I try to use it they will know. I will have to draw out my katana and they were attack you. I can't do that to you!"

"You must find a way Kagome…"

"Sesshoumaru? Sesshoumaru!"

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru and saw his head tilt to one side. The shadows must have known that he was trying to talk to her. Kagome bit her lip. What am I going to do? I need to do that spell but if I draw out my katana them they will attack. I have to at least try. I have to believe in Sesshoumaru. He wouldn't tell me to do something if he wasn't sure that it would work.

Kagome looked at Inuyasha and saw that he had concern in his eyes. Kagome slowly reached her hand up and place it on her necklace. Kagome felt the familiar power and warmth as her armor appeared. Inuyasha's eyes widened in shock and Kagome tried to show on her face that it was alright.

The shadows moved nervously but didn't hurt her friends. So far so good. Kagome reached down and grabbed onto Inuyasha's hand. She slowly pulled his hand to the hilt of Tessaiga. Inuyasha raised his eyebrow at Kagome's movement. Kagome gave Inuyasha a determined look and he grasped onto Tessaiga. Kagome took her right and grasped onto Tessaiga's hilt as well. Kagome pushed her fingers under Inuyasha's palm and she rest her palm over his fingers.

Kagome shifted her weight so that she was kneeling right in front of Tessaiga and Kagome smiled when Inuyasha did the same thing across from her, their hands never breaking their grasp on the sword. If Sesshoumaru can speak to me through his thoughts I wonder if I can reach Inuyasha through his thoughts.

"Inuyasha," Kagome concentrated on speaking to Inuyasha through her thoughts. Kagome smiled when she saw Inuyasha flinch slightly.

"Kagome?"

"Yes Inuyasha I am talking to you through our thoughts. I need you to unleash your youki. Like that day at the river when I became weak. I need you to concentrate on letting your youki out. Go on your instincts. Let them guild you."

"Kagome I don't want to hurt you."

"You won't hurt me. I promise. I need you to do that if we are going to help our friends."

"Okay Kagome."

"Good now close your eyes and concentrate."

Kagome closed her eyes and so did Inuyasha. Kagome slowed her breathing and concentrated on her miko powers. She needed to unleash them. She had to let them all out. Her armor would make sure that Inuyasha's youki didn't hurt her. Kagome started to feel warm as she slowly started to glow fuchsia.

Kagome started to glow an even more intense fuchsia. I was wafering off of her in wisps'. Inuyasha was starting to glow an intense red. His youki was coming off of him in waves. Kagome and Inuyasha both pulsated and caused the ground to shake. The shadows backed away slightly at the wave of power that came off of them.

Kagome's power was flowing upwards off of her like fire and so were Inuyasha's powers. Every once and awhile their power would touch and a spark of white light would appear and vanish. The more power that Kagome and Inuyasha gave off the more it would touch and spark with a bright white light. Kagome felt as if she was watching the whole thing off outside of her body.

Suddenly Kagome's eyes shot open and they were glowing an intense fuchsia. Inuyasha's eyes shot open as well and they were glowing an intense red. With Kagome's left hand she grasped onto the blade of Tessaiga and felt it slice through her skin. Inuyasha grasped on Tessaiga's blade as well and it to sliced through his skin. Blood from both Inuyasha and Kagome started to flow down the edge of Tessaiga.

"Purity of Soul!" Kagome's blood snaked across the broad part of the blade in a curve. Inuyasha's blood did the same thing. "Love of Heart!" Inuyasha's and Kagome's blood met in the center of the blade and started to weave together down the blade. Their blood was creating an incarnate design down the blade. "Blood of Life!" as Kagome shouted this out the two trails of blood met together and Tessaiga exploded with white light.

The white light shot into the ground. All was silent and then suddenly the ground started to shake and streaks of white light ran across the ground. Soon Inuyasha and Kagome were kneeling in the center of a magic circle. White sparks were shooting every once and awhile from the circle. Kagome ignored the increased hissing and shrieking of the shadows around them as the magic circle started to draw them in.

The magic circle was acting like a kazana. The shadows tried to pull away but to no avail. Tessaiga pulsated as the magic circle became stronger. Sango, Miroku, Kirara and Sesshoumaru fell hard to ground as the shadows that bond them were sucked towards the magic circle that Inuyasha and Kagome had created.

The Tsunio were spinning around Kagome and Inuyasha like a tornado. Every once and awhile one would try to grab at either Kagome or Inuyasha but as it get close to them the power that the two of them were giving off would burn the shadow and a renewed hiss or shriek would soon follow.

Kagome released her left hand from the blade of Tessaiga and held it above the hilt of Tessaiga. Inuyasha did the same thing. Both their hands were instantly healed and they grasped onto each other's hand and laced they fingers together. Kagome closed her eyes and tilted her head back, her hair flying into the air as her power intensified. Inuyasha closed his eyes and the same thing happened to him.

"United Together!" yelled out Kagome.

"Until Forever!" yelled out Inuyasha.

The earth gave an almighty tremor as Kagome's fuchsia power and Inuyasha's red power were drawn into Tessaiga and then thrust through the blade and into the earth. The shadow's shrieks and hissing sounded like a thousand youkai being tortured to death. The magic circle shot streams of white light into the Tsunio. Everywhere the white light touched the shadow was instantly purified. Stream upon stream of light entered into the shadows until it was only a tornado of white light that swirled around Inuyasha and Kagome.

The white light and the magic circle suddenly streaked into Tessaiga and all the area was covered in darkness once again. Suddenly the earth started to shake and Tessaiga started to pulsate. Tessaiga instantly glowed an intense white light and in a wave it shot off of Tessaiga. The wave blow Kagome and Inuyasha apart and the force caused them to roll about three feet away from each other.

Tessaiga stood in the clearing with vapors of smoke rising off of it. A small hand gently touched Kagome's cheek and her eyes fluttered open. Kagome looked into a pair of big bright orange eyes before everything faded into darkness.

A/N: Oh my goodness that was a long chapter. I was going to stop a few times but I kept getting reviews so I thought that I would make this chapter a little bit longer then planned because of the reviews that I was receiving. I know I'm a bitch for having another cliffy. Sorry about them everyone but this chapter is really long as it is and I didn't want to get into the next scene as of yet.
