Chapter 11

The New Life

Beep Beep Beep Bee…Thwack.. The alarm clock shut off. A beautiful girl around the age of 25 got up and looked at the clock. “8:25!!! Oh my god…I am gonna be late!!” She rushed into the bathroom. She grabbed a hair band and through her ebony locks up. Two little triangle shot up at the top of her head. She washed her face and clawed hands, brushed her fang like teeth, and went back into her room. “How can I be late I set my alarm clock to 7:25…Oh Damnit daylight savings time!! How could I forget?” She put on her blue uniform and rushed out the door. She ran as fast as she could to Carl's Diner. “Kagome, you're late.” Carl said as she ran in. “I know, I know, Carl but I forgot about that stupid day lights saving thing.” “Well you better not be late again.” “I won't.” Se said a she went to her first table. “Hello boys…” she said while pouring some coffee. “What will it be today?” Kagome asked. “I'll have the usual Kags. I am not so sure about what Sauku wants though.” “Shut up Roku!!” It was the same every morning. These three had been friends for as long as she could remember. They came in here every morning, had breakfast then they met at Tokyo University. “Let's see if I can guess Sauku….A Double yolk omelet with a side of hash and bacon?” “Kags, you know me too well.” “I know its one of my talents.” She walked off and came back with their orders. Then said “See you guys at school.” As they walked out. She had 4 more tables to wait. And only 15 more minutes till class started!!! She begged Carl to let her go. He said “Okay but your making' it up later.” She ran to school and almost like magic changed her outfit while she ran. She ran into the university and barely got into the room before the professor locked the door. “Well Miss Higarashi, Glad to see you join us today.” He said sarcastically. “But that will be 4 demerits for being late.” “Aw man.” Kagome whispered as she wrote the assignments up. All of her classes went by in a flash. As she walked home she stopped at the daycare like she usually did. “Hi Ting-Ting I have come to pick up Kia.” She told a woman of about 60. “Well seeing as you didn't drop her of this morning I don't have her.” Ting Ting said. “WHAT!?!?! You mean you don't have her I have to go get her.” “Kagome, Kagome relax, your daughter is fine I went and picked her up when you left for work this morning, you seemed like in a rush.” She said as she held up a baby that looked about 6 months old. “Oh my gosh, Ki, honey I am so sorry. I guess I made the right decision when I gave you a spare key to the shrine huh?” “Yes child now run along.” She thanked Ting-Ting for taking care of her and left for her house. She grabbed a yellow backpack that looked like it was about to fall apart any minute and a baby bag. Then she locked the door and went towards the old well house. She opened the doors and jumped in.

(Meanwhile)

“Where is Kags? She promised she'd bring Kia for us to see today.” A 22 year old Rin said as she paced back and forth. “Welax, Mamma, I ture Antwie Gome will be hewre swany smintues.” Kiasma said cutely. Rin smiled at the way here daughter was talking. For only 2 years old she spoke pretty well. “Kiasma well seriously need to work on your grammar.” Sesshomaru told his daughter. “Fluffy, (he he sry I had to) how could you be worrying about our daughters grammar when Kags is late?” Rin yelled while she continued pacing. “Shes probably in trouble, oh, I knew I should've gone with her. Lord knows that if I did she'd…” “I'd what Rin?” Kagome asked her friend suspiciously as she walked into the western lord castle. “Oh nothing Kags.” Rin laughed nervously. “Mhmmm hmm. Sure.” Kagome said not believing it at all. “Cause you know it quite a ways from the well to here.” She said icily. “Well…….I didn't think about that…..” While Rin was sputtering to find an answer Kagome preoccupied herself with something else. “Hey Sessho, ready to meet your niece?” Kagome asked. “WHAT?!?!? Kags are you just going to leave me out??” Rin said with a hurt look on her face. “No, but considering you were just talking about me I am gonna let Sessho see her first, that, and the fact that he's the elder here so he deserves to see her first.” “Feh and what makes you think I want to see her?” Sessho said in a cold tone. Kagome was shocked. He hadn't talked in that tone, since before he mated with Rin. “Well…..you're the one that said you wanted to see her after she was born….” Kagome whispered. “I mean it's been a year since I have seen either of you Sessho, didn't you miss me at all?” Kagome said with a hurt look on her face. He gave no reply so she turned around to Rin. “Well Rin I guess you will get to see her first after all.” Kagome never saw it coming. Rin started giggling and before Kagome could figure out why….she had been drenched with freezing cold water by Sesshomaru. “Exactly you have been gone a year and I haven't got a chance to get back at you from the Christmas party.” He stated playfully. Luckily Kia didn't get wet at all and started laughing at her mother's appearance. She exclaimed in inu-youkai <Mother-Female wet, but pup not, Mother female funny> She growled back <Pup bad, don't laugh at Mother female> Of coarse Sessho understood every word so he scruffed Kagome in the back of her neck. Her head went down instantly. “Your still a pup to me Kagome, don't punish her for laughing at something that was funny.” Sessho said, and then added in inu-youkai <Pup knows place pup good for submitting so quickly> Kagome didn't like being called a pup so she replied. <Why leader male punish pup then?> <Because pup punish other pup for no reason.> “Fair enough.” Kagome nuzzled the whimpering Kia, she was continuously saying. <Pup sorry, Pup sorry>. She nuzzled her hair more and said <Forgiven> “Good now that we all have forgiven each other I would like to see my niece.” Sessho said with enthusiasm. `Its funny, ever since he mated Rin he has shown a lot more emotion.' Kagome thought as she passed Kia to Sesshomaru. He looked at her intently. “She looks just like you Kagome….I am honored to have such a beautiful niece.” He said softly. Kia started playing with Sesshomaru's tail he growled playfully and pushed it away from her grasp. “Yeah, she might be beautiful…..but she's still a third-demon like me Sessho….imagine how she will be treated.” Kagome said as she flattened her ears. “She will be treated with the upmost respect Kagome…after all she is the new princess of the Southern Lands.” Sesshmaru promised firmly.
