Chapter 17

The Two Priestesses!

Kagome felt a cold clothe being dabbed on her forehead. She stirred and heard a faintly recognizable voice. “These wounds are serious, it's a good thing you called me here Inuyasha.” A cold voice stated. “Yeah, thanks a lot for coming Kikyou.” `Kikyou!' Kagome woke up and jumped into the rafters in the shrine. “My Lady! Be careful you shouldn't be moving, your too injured.” Master Mushi yelled. “Keh, I'd be in worse condition if she tried to heal me.” Kagome shouted back. She growled. `Why is Kikyou here? Wait! She cant kill me in front of the others!' Kagome thought wearily. “So, Kikyou, why are you here? Come to kill me when I am wounded?” Kagome asked seriously. “I have no idea what your talking about. Inuyasha came and got me to come and heal you.” She told her coldly. “BULLSHIT!” Kagome yelled back. This was enough to awake a sleeping Katera. “Wha….What's happening?” Then she caught sight of Kikyou. “Ahh, Master Mushi.” A crying Katera cried as she hid behind the old man. “Katera what's wrong?” Said the old master as he tried to comfort her. “You stay away from me! I mean it!” Katera cried again. “What ever do you mean?” Kikyou asked. “Don't play dumb Kikyou, you know what you did. You stay away from Katera, I am personally warning you.” Kagome said with a growl. “Well what ever you're talking about I ask you to come down here so I can heal your wounds.” Kikyou told her calmly. “There is no way in hell I am coming down there, your probably try to kill me when I have my back turned.” Kagome spat back. “Well, either way, if you don't come down here, you can't protect Katera.” Kikyou said back. `Damn she has a point; she can pull anything on Katera while I am up here.' Reluctantly, Kagome jumped down, right in front of Kikyou. “Very clever, but I am not gonna be fooled that easily. You try anything and your dead.” Kagome told her before going to sit down by Master Mushi's side to comfort a bawling Katera. Kikyou went back to sit by Inuyasha. Miroku decided to start a conversation to break the silence. “So, how exactly do you two know each other?” He asked. Kagome answered since Kikyou had no intention to. “Well, let's start with that she was an accomplice with the people that killed my family. That and she has tried to kill me to finish my family line.” Then she felt a tug on her sleeve. “Oh and yes. To top it all off, she shot Katera with a sacred arrow and almost purified her when she was five years old. I think that pretty much explains the way I am acting.” Kagome told them coldly. Everyone sat there in silence trying to comprehend what the angel just said. “Either way Kikyou I don't want you here. I don't need your healing expertise and I sure as hell don't need your stupid soul stealers to be stealing the souls of the women that die in my lands. Now since I am the ruler of the Southern Lands at this point of time, I am ordering you to get the hell off my lands.” Kagome said sternly. “Well, this might be your lands, but this is not your temple, so you do not own this land. Therefore you do not have the authority to kick me out.” Kikyou said in triumph. “No, but I do. I do suggest you get off my land. Because I am the owner of this temple and I do have the authority to kick you out.” Mushi interrupted. Kikyou steamed for a second then left while saying. “This is not over.” And then was picked up by her Soul Stealers than left. “And Good Riddance!” Kagome said silently. “My' Lady, you really should get your wounds treated. They are very bad.” Speaking of that,” She turned to Inuyasha. “What of all things would posess you to use the Wind Scar on me?!?” Kagome screamed at him. “You told me to hit you with my best shot!!” Inuyasha screamed back. “YEAH BUT I MENT A HEAD ON ATTACK STUPID!!! IF WE WERE GOING TO USE FIGHTING ATTACKS I WOULD HAVE USED MY HOLY DETRIMENT ON YOU!!!” She yelled. He stood there speechless. “You know what forget it. I should've known you haven't changed, maybe that what Sesshomaru wanted.” She told him as she walked out. “Well, that went well.” Shippo said as he tried to lighten the mood. It didn't succeed. “Katera….” Inuyasha's voice softly asked. “Huh?” Katera asked back. “Is it true, what your aunt said, about Kikyou doing that stuff to you and her?” He asked quietly. “Yes Uncle Yasha it's completely true. Why did you bring Kikyou here? We could've gotten someone from the village. It would've been better for auntie; I'm not sure how she is gonna handle this.” “What do you mean, `handle this'?” Sango asked. The sound of a tree falling echoed inside the temple. “She's obviously taking it out on the trees I better go check on her.” Katera said while standing up. Inuyasha stood up as well. “I am coming too. Its my fault shes like this.” Everyone else stood up as well. “I bet shes going to need all the help she can get at the moment.” Miroku told them. They all made their way outside to hear the sound of someone crying. They peered around the corner to see Kagome sobbing rather loudly, with her head in her knees. Katera started to step forward. The others followed but she put her hand up and told them to stop. Then went forward and hugged her Aunt. “Auntie please stop crying, you know I don't like it when you cry.” Kagome lifted her head up to show a tear streaked face. “I know but, Katera, it's like its happening all over again. I guess your dad was right, huh? I really can't handle being around him.” “Aw, Auntie. You'll get through this, you're the strongest person I know, and I don't want you down. Come on. Smile. Smile, Smile, SMILE.” This got a giggle form Kagome. “Oh, so that trick you taught me works on you too.” “Yeah, I guess it does.” Kagome answered back. “Well, I am going to get all this blood washed off.” She stood up and walked away to the hot springs. They all went to where they were sleeping for the night. Tomorrow, they departed for their journeys.
