Chapter 18

On Our Way!

The Inu-gang was up early to do the chores for the day. They knew the `angel' wasn't completely healed yet, so decided to take over her tasks. But the funny thing was, when they went into the kitchen to wash the dishes, and clean the floor. Katera and the `angel' were drying the last of the dishes. The angel was dressed in nothing but bandages, but it was suitable because they covered her whole chest and her left arm. “Oh, glad to see you guys are up, breakfast is on then table, if you're hungry, that is.” She said while putting up the last dish. “Have you already eaten, my lady?” Miroku questioned. “Well no, but I'll manage. We will be leaving in a matter of hours. And Master Mushi doesn't have the strength to be messing with the shrine right now so Hachi, and Katera, and I cleaned the shrine this morning.” She replied. “Are you really well enough to be doing things like that, I mean cleaning and all?” Sango asked. “Well, if I don't do it, no one else will. Plus, it's not like I mind.” She said with a smile. “Well, Katera, go get your stuff. We need to be leaving.” “And where are you going exactly?” Inuyasha questioned, startling everyone. “To go get a jewel shard to test my training!” Katera piped. “You're after the jewel shards?” Inuyasha asked again. “Well,” She said while pulling out a very large fragment of the jewel. Three fifths of it at least. “WHERE DID YOU GET THAT!?!?” They all yelled at once. “A lot of collecting over the years, a lot of demons with jewel shards seeking to be my mate.” She answered half-heartedly. “Anyway, we are on our way for a jewel shard rumor apparently there is a spider youkai attacking a village near my palace so they called upon my efforts to slay it.” She said calmly. “Well how about we fight for it, whoever defeats the demon gets the shards.” Inuyasha said with determination. “Why would you need any? You already have 12 shards, don't you?” She asked. “H-H-How did you know that?” He managed to stutter out. “It's easy; I see them in Miroku's robes.” Once Kagome said this she knew she said wrong. Because they all asked. “How can you see them!?!?” “Look, Kikyou can see them too. She trained me to see them before she betrayed me.” Kagome said lying through clenched teeth. But she passed it off. “Oh, well like I was saying, just because we have shards doesn't mean we don't want more!” Inuyasha yelled. “Fine, you have yourself a deal. But we travel together so we can start at the same time.” She told him sternly. “Fine.” He said back. “Well better get moving, I am saying goodbye to Master Mushi and then I am leaving.” She said then left the room. They all packed up their stuff and headed along the road. It wasn't long before Kagome identified the village they were to slay the demon at. Since the demon only attacked at night they were welcomed by the village elder to stay at his house. They said yes, but when Miroku asked for women…..Kagome sternly told the elder. “If you don't want all these women impregnated you would keep your women away from that monk.” He laughed. “Of course my lady.” Then left them alone. “I don't know about you but I am going to go and say hello to everyone. Katera I am sure you want to go flirt with the village boys so if you are going to go and flirt be back in an hour.” Katera was blushing. “Auntie!” “I am just kiddin'!” Kagome said back while walking out the door. Miroku said that he would like to look around the village before they had to slay the demon. Of course, Sango wouldn't let that happen so she went with them. Then somehow Inuyasha and Shippo got thrown in the batch too. They saw many children running around, screaming and laughing, from what looked like a HUGE pure black dog demon. Before Inuyasha could even draw his blade the demon had the back of one kid's shirt between her teeth. “Hey, leggo!!!” The little kid yelled with laughter. Then all the other kids rushed while screaming. “ATTACK!!!” Before the group could stop the kids they all ran into the demon and knocked her over and started scratching her and tickling her. Katera was among the bunch. “How could these children's parents let them try to get attacked by this demon??” Sango asked. All the adults were chuckling rather loud about what was happening. Then a familiar voice broke the clearing. “Ok ok I give, I GIVE…” The demon was gone but the kids were still ganging up on something. “Say Mercy, say Mercy!!” The yelled back. “MERCY, MERCY!!!!!!!!!” She screamed. They all got off whatever they were attacking to show a laughing angel gasping for air. With Katera still tickling her. “KATERA GET OFF A ME!!!” She yelled. Katera got up only to be tackled by the angel and get her guts tickled out of her. “WHAT NOW WHAT NOW?!?!? NOW YOU SAY MERCY!!!!” Kagome laughed as she tickled her. She still didn't notice Inuyasha and the others. Katera finally yelled. “GET HER!!!” And once again she was tackled to the ground. “Ok, look you guys if you let me go, I'll sing a song for you.” All the kids got up at once and started screaming “YAY!!” The angel walked away and picked a something from her from her bag, it was to tiny for anyone in the group to identify it. Then she waved her hand over it and a strange looking instrument popped into her hand. “Gotta love magic, okay time to play my favorite instrument, Guitar!!” She exclaimed. She went over to a fence and sat down on it. She strung the strings a couple times and started to hum. Still unnoticed by the group. She started to sing in her angelic voice.

Standing still my mind in a blur thinking now or never.

You're walking by watching my every move; is this some test?

I turn around and hope you don't notice I'm just a great pretender.

Screw'n off till next thing you know it's another minute passed.

I wish I could figure out what's really important.

*So I'm taking one more step holding my breath like it's the last time I'll ever breath; inside I'm screaming.

But reality keeps playing me like I'm not even close.

She ended her song. Everyone clapped. Including the adults. Then the angel waved her hand over her guitar again. Then threw it mini size in the air and it disappeared. The she threw three sutras against three trees. A large barrier papered over the village. She stepped out of it. “Everyone stay back the demons coming and it's brought friends.” She told everyone in the village. She turned to Inuyasha. “Well, I hope you are ready to begin the battle, dude. Its gonna be a tuff one.” Then all of a sudden he yelled “LOOK OUT!!!” But before she had time to see what was coming, she was bit by a giant spider and thrown into the air.

She was about to be eaten when a blur caught her and dropped her to the ground. Two men stood there, both standing in front of the angel. They both jumped into the air with blades drawn. They crossed their swords horizontally and shouted. “Lightning Strike!!” All of the demons were gone in an instant. One of them picked up the shard and brought it over to the angel. She didn't accept it though she stood up and yelled. “SHABOYKA YOU LOSER I AM PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF TAKING CARE OF MYSELF!!” “Careful lil sis, you might break a nail.” “Yeah! Good one bro!” They said as they give each other some skin. “Urgggg!!! I SWEAR YOU TWO IF YOU DON'T GET OUTTA HERE RIGHT NOW!!!” “Oh yeah sis, what are you gonna do about it!?! No matter what you'll still be weaker than us.” Kagome gave a large growl. “OH YEAH WELL YOU CAN TAKE THAT SHITY COMEBACK AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR….” She fell to her knees. The mood changed imedeatily. “Hey sis you ok.” She revealed blood seeping through the spaces between her fingers. “Sis, we gotta get you to a healer.” Shaboyka said softly. “I don't need anything from you two. Just because I am the only girl in the family does not mean I will be embarrassed. I have protected these lands by myself for years and I REALLY DON'T NEED YOUR HELP NOW!!! Now Get!!” They left in a flash with the jewel shard. “Come on Katera we are leaving. You guys can come too if you want.” She said turning to the group. She held up her hand flicked her wrist and just like that the barrier was gone. They started to walk off with the group trailing behind. Unaware of the eyes following them.
