Chapter 23

Time To Catch Up

“Yes, Kagome, why don't you tell them that we are the cutest engaged couple they will ever see?” Nobuya told as he hugged her from behind. The group just kinda stood there, all of their eyes twitching. “Guys, he's kidding, Nobuya is my bestest bestest friend.” Kagome said as she pulled away from him. “He has been there for me forever; I have known him since I was 5 years old.” Kagome said as she got a Dr. Pepper out of the bucket on the table. “Now if you want me to explain what been going on with me for the last ten years then you better sit down cause this is going to be a long story.” Everyone took a seat, and Inuyasha out of all of them was the farthest away from Kagome. “And if FLUFFY, KAT, AND KIASMA would come in here I could start.” Sesshomaru walked into the room followed by the also known Katera and another small child that the group assumed to Kiasma. “Sorry Auntie, I woke up late for training and...yeah.” Katera told her Aunt while taking a seat. Now Inuyasha wasn't thrilled when Sesshomaru walked through the room, he actually started growling softly. It looked like he hurt Kagome a lot yesterday and it was all because she didn't want him dead. Sesshomaru basically had the same reaction, a low growl, his brother had killed Kagome once, and whether the western lord would admit it or not, Kagome was like a daughter to him and he did not want her getting hurt again by this….half breed. Then the person both brothers were thinking about interrupted the contest. “Oh lord and I am supposed to be younger than both of yall. Stop fighting, Sessh, you promised.” Kagome said while giving a look that could kill to Sesshomaru. “And as for you Inuyasha.” Kagome said while looking his way. “Whether you like it or not Sessh is basically going to be wherever I am, so you guys need to put aside your differences and let me have a say in this.” Kagome closed. Inuyasha huffed and stopped growling, Sesshomaru took a seat by Rin who held his hand to comfort him. “Now as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted,” Kagome continued while giving both the brothers a look. “I am going to start off where I went home after Sesshomaru found me.” She cleared her throat. “I went through the well like always to get home but when I stepped inside my house I was shocked to see my step father standing beside my mom.” Kagomes eyes turned a darker blue. “He was an abusive alcoholic, someone who drinks too much sake and loses their mind for a while. Anyway, he left when I was 12 so I was kinda shocked to see him standing in the doorway 3 years later.” Her eyes got even a darker blue. “That bastard, tried to kill me and my little brother on more than one occasion, my mom accepted him back in the family though. He was doing pretty well for a while but I knew it couldn't last. He got my mom turned on to alcohol so she started abusing us too.” She took a shallow breath. Everyone in the Inu-Group could tell that these were memories that cause Kagome pain, but they needed to know what happened. “Then came one day when Souta got hit with a knife so I decided to get him out of the house for the night. We stayed at a hotel and when we were on our way home smoke was coming up from the shrine. When I got there my parents and my grandfather were fighting for their lives against Kikyou, Naraku, And Spellman.” Kagome's aura was radiating in waves of sadness. “Kikyou starting attacking me and Souta while my family was still fighting Naraku and Spellman. The arrows came flying; I was able to stop almost all of them when I shielded Souta. I tell ya, I had at least 7 arrows sticking outta my back.” She gave and fake snort. “One hit Souta in the arm but he said he would be okay. I took him behind the shrine and told him to stay there. He grabbed my arm to stop me.” Kagome sniffled. “He gave his necklace.” Kagome told them while pulling out a golden chain with a cross on it. “He told me it would bring me luck. I-I gave him my bracelet, it wasn't anything more than a piece of string with beads woven into it, but it was my favorite. I told him that it would protect him. That was the last time I saw him, alive.” Tears were escaping Kagomes eyes. “Kikyou, Naraku, And Spellman all launched an attack at me after my family was out of the way. That nearly killed me.” Nobuya reached over and touched Kagomes shoulder softly. “Anyway, I was released from the hospital two weeks later for the funeral. That's the day I started living with Sesshomaru at the western castle. He trained me to handle my priestess powers and taught me how to use a sword, should I ever come in contact with those three again. I had a few encounters with Kikyou but she always ended up running away at the last moment. Life was pretty normal I passed through the well to go to school but right before I went to collage of my 20th birthday I turned into a third demon. Third Human, Third Wolf-Dog,” Inuyasha looked at her strangely. “And Third Witch. Anyway, that's when my advisor, kinda like Miyoga for you Inuyasha, Kosiai came to tell me what was happening.” “What kinda of demon is Kosiai?” Sango asked. “She's a dragon demon, a smaller dragon demon. Anyway I inherited my father's lands. It turns out why Spellman was after me was because he wanted revenge on my father. But once again I went to collage and life was pretty normal. Until about a year and a half ago…” Kagome paused. She really wasn't ready to tell anybody what exactly happened, that man had hurt her so much. “I-I-I was raped.” Gasps were heard but Inuyasha just let out a growl. “I got pregnant and I had my daughter Kia, now I don't care how she was brought into this world she is nothing like her father, I used my magic to get rid of all his genes in her blood stream. And that basically sums up what's been happening.” Kagome finished and had tears pouring down her face. A small pure black fox jumped on her shoulder and rubbed against her cheek. “Oh, this is midnight, he's like my Kirara.”

Everyone was in a state of shock. “So, basically, you're different?” Inuyasha asked bluntly. “No, not really, just more mature and has got a lil demon blood in her.” Kagome said while smiling. “So, does that basically catch us up for now? Because I got to train.” Kagome told them before a gust of wind illuminated the room. There Kagara stood fan in hand, but before any of the group could had time to react Kagome had ran over to Kagara and pulled her into a bone crushing hug. Inuyasha was shocked. The girls were laughing their heads off about something Kagara said. Rin was over there as well and Sesshomaru was acting like there was no danger. “Will someone explain what's going on here?!” Inuyasha shouted. “Dude, its Legally Blonde Japanese Style.” Nobuya told them. The giggling suddenly stopped. “Well, well, if it isn't Inuyasha?” Kagara said. “Kagara, errr, I'm gonna kill you.” “Inuyasha SIT BOY!” Kagome shouted before a loud crash was heard. “Inuyasha, Kagara doesn't work for Naraku anymore, she's been set free, by me.” Kagome told him slowly.
