Chapter 11
Good News and Bad News
The Morning After…
Kagome to a hesitant sun peeking through the shades, uncertain if it wanted to wake the newly peaceful couple or not. A new dawn spread it's pink fingers across the sky and into the taiyoukai and his new mate's room. Kagome wiggled and found herself in the silken embrace of an angel. Her breath released as a kiss embedded into her hair.
"Good morning, beloved," a voice purred into her ear. Kagome nuzzled closer to the naked chest as the thoughts of last night returned. `Guess this makes us married…' She thought with a blush.
"Good morning to you as well, love. Sleep well?" She kissed his collar bone affectionately as a purr emitted from his chest, his arms pulling her close to his body.
"With you in my arms, I've not slept that well since I was a child in my mother's lap," he murmured and licked her neck. The wound still stung, but the coolness of his tongue made her wiggle.
"Can I ask you something, Sesshoumaru?" She asked.
"Of course, anything…" he nipped softly at her neck, causing a small moan to escape her lips.
"When was it you knew it was love?" her voice was soft, hesitant, but her mind questioned and searched for this answer in herself.
Sesshoumaru stopped kissing, and nuzzled into her neck, the flashback playing over his eyes.
"I remember it as if it happened last night," she blushed lightly at this. "But it was a while ago…when you wore that one red kimono with the white dragons on it. You lost all smell, feel, and memory of being human. You were just, Kagome." His eyes were blessed with a smile from his beloved as their arms around each other tightened. Her head rested on his bare chest as she cuddled close to him.
Three Days Later…
Kagome smiled as she saw Sesshoumaru give in to her wish. Rin yelled a happy note and Shippo loved the happiness gleaming out of his mother's eye. The two children ran around as Ah and Un (this right?) came out to receive the happy family and fly off towards Kaede's village so Kagome could visit her family. She cuddled close to Sesshoumaru, who held her tightly as the cold air swept around them. Rin and Shippo snuggled between their parents arms as Kagome suddenly thought of how she was going to tell everyone…especially Inuyasha. The thought of his name made her blood boil. That damned Hanyou. She didn't care what he thought. He was off fucking that dumb dead bitch.
Sesshoumaru glanced down at his mate, her sudden aura red with anger. An elegant eyebrow rose as he lowered his head and gently lapped his tongue across her neck and a fang softly over her earlobe. She shivered, the anger being replaced with somewhat of an arousal as she smiled at her mate.
"Eww, get a room," Shippo said, using one of Kagome's famous saying that she always used to say to Sango and Miroku. Kagome chuckled as Sesshoumaru had a slight confused look in his eyes. She lightly kissed his cheek then placed her head on his shoulder, nose nuzzled into the nape of his neck. His hand lightly rubbed her arm as Ah and Un descended towards the village.
In the village…
"Kagome!" Sango's voice rang out as Kagome, Sesshoumaru, Rin, and Shippo walked on the path towards the village. Ah and Un had landed in the field away from the villagers, so as not to cause chaos.
Kagome and Sango shared a tight hug as Miroku soon arrived, having come from the hut, unlike Sango, who was out collecting herbs. Sesshoumaru's growl warned the monk early on as his hand slowly descended down Kagome's back. An innocent look crossed his face as he scratched at his head.
"We're so glad you're back! Inuyasha's been so miserable, he hasn't left the dark corner of the hut!" Sango said before she realized what she had said. Her hand fluttered to her mouth in silent apology, but Kagome's facade didn't change. She smiled.
"Well, then lets send these little monsters in to wake him up!" Kagome knelt down and whispered to her two adoptive children, who grinned evilly and took off towards Kaede's hut. Kagome stood just as a loud, frustrated yell came from the hut. Children laughing drifted from the hut as the four drew closer.
"You're WHAT?!" Sango couldn't help her shock as she looked between Kagome and Sesshoumaru. Kagome blushed.
"Yes…We're mates," Kagome said, the thought of something coming to her mind, but she pushed it back until later.
Suddenly, Kagome was pulled away, Sesshoumaru's angry growl meeting the ears of everyone as he moved to unhook the hanyou's hand from Kagome's arm.
Inuyasha growled deep and looked like he was about to pour death into Sesshoumaru, but Kagome growled.
"SIT!"
Inuyasha's cursing came from a hole in the ground.
"Will you be good? Or do I have to break your back?" Kagome asked sweetly as she was bent over at the waist and talking to him like a child. Sesshoumaru studied her backside, masking his sudden arousal from the sexual position she had unknowingly put herself in.
"Mmmeh…" came Inuyasha's agreement and was finally let up. Inuyasha, brushing the dirt from his face, noticed the change of smell on Kagome. Anger flooded through his eyes again.
"HOW COULD YOU MATE WITH THIS ASSHOLE?!" He roared.
"Sit."
Whump. Inuyasha was face first in the dirt. Sango and Miroku were shaking their heads.
"So you here for the Wedding?!" Sango exclaimed, changing the subject.
"Of course!"
Before the wedding…
"Oh Sango! You look beautiful!" Kagome breathed, amazed at her friend's transformation into her white, silk wedding kimono. Sango blushed, embarrassed at all the attention. Shippo went into cooing over her flowers as Kaede folded the last part of the kimono onto Kagome's waist. Sango smiled widely at Kagome.
"You look like you're going to get married yourself, Kagome… What about you and Sesshoumaru? You are mates now, so what about a wedding?" It was Kagome's turn to blush.
"Ano…I don't think he'd go for it…though I would love to have a ceremony with my mother, Souta and Grandpa there…" Kagome sniffed softly then smiled. "Come on! There's a wedding to go through…" Kagome choked softly. Her hand flew to her mouth.
"Kagome?!" Sango looked at her worriedly. Suddenly, Kagome ran from the hut and threw up behind it in the trees. Kaede stopped Sango from running after her as a silver streak raced by the hut.
By Kagome…
She fell back onto her butt as tears rolled down her cheeks. A warm embrace quickly pulled her into warmth, her noticing how cold she had been. A loving voice purred in her ear as a soft hand gently wiped her tears away.
"My love…what's the matter?" He inhaled sharply then hugged her tighter.
"I feel so sick, Sesshou…" Kagome trembled in his arms. He softly kissed her cheek and rocked her slowly until she became still.
"Maybe you ate something…" Sesshoumaru said softly, though silently knowing that wasn't the case. She was with his pup…er…pups, but he decided to tell her after the ceremony. Silently masking her change of scent, he hoped she wouldn't get too far away from him so the mask would fade and the kitsune or his bastard of a half-brother would smell. He knew Kagome didn't need any more pain from that hanyou.
"I'm okay…I'll be okay, Arigato, Sesshou," Kagome moved to stand, but went with Sesshoumaru as he stood, holding her in his arms.
"Kagome…I know this marriage thing is big for you, so I will remain civil towards that bas…towards Inuyasha…and if you do not know by now…for youkai, marriage is the mating ritual…" Sesshoumaru softly whispered in her ear as her cheeks flushed. `So we are married..' She thought silently, then quickly turned in her love's arms and embraced him. He purred softly and wrapped his tail around the two of them.
"You should probably get back…the bride is worried…" He reluctantly let go of his mate, licking her neck softly once before helping her back to the front of the hut. She pulled him down and kissed him softly before retreating inside the hut.
After the wedding…
The wedding went off without a hitch. Sesshoumaru was good to his word and stood near the back of the group, keeping a wary eye on his mate, the maid of honor. Inuyasha made some comments in the beginning, insulting the taiyoukai, but was `sat' by Kagome. When Miroku and Sango shared their first kiss as husband and wife, Sesshoumaru chuckled as Inuyasha let out a happy bark, then quickly looked embarrassed. Kagome noticed, but only the smile gave way that she knew.
Sango was sitting next to Miroku by the fire of Kaede's hut. Tomorrow would begin their honeymoon in what would later be known as Sakura, Japan, where there was a little village and resort with hot springs. Soon after their return to Kaede's village, Miroku and some local men would begin the construction of their new home.
Kagome and Sesshoumaru were on the opposite side of the newlyweds, while Inuyasha sat next to Shippo and Rin, both who had looked so adorable during the wedding, and were now dirty since they had run off to go play once it was over. Miroku and Sango were talking quietly between themselves, then excused themselves and walked off towards the hot springs. We all grinned. We knew what they were going to be doing.
Inuyasha scoffed, then stood and went inside Kaede's hut, leaving the sleeping children leaning against Kagome and Sesshoumaru.
Sesshoumaru sniffed softly, confirming yet again that Kagome truly was with his brats. Sighing, he decided to tell her.
"Kagome…" He started softly, glancing down at her. Her eyes opened and looked up at him.
"Hai?"
"There is something I need to tell you…"
The next morning…
Miroku and Sango waved goodbye from the back of Kirara as they took off into the sky to the hot spring resort. Sesshoumaru had stopped masking the scent of Kagome that morning, when she had told him to. (hmm…whipcrack…lol) Inuyasha was upwind of the mated couple, so he didn't get the whiff of her change until he had hopped down and was eating breakfast with them. He had just stuffed food into his mouth when all of a sudden, he sniffed in and choked. Sesshoumaru looked up, amused.
"You're supposed to chew, then swallow. I thought you were old enough to know that," Sesshoumaru muttered and Kagome stifled a giggle.
"KAGOME!" Inuyasha growled, his eyes glowing red for a moment. Sesshoumaru growled in warning.
"You WHORE!" Inuyasha cried. Pain flashed through Kagome's eyes as she dropped her bowl of breakfast noodles. Sesshoumaru disappeared from her side and was suddenly choking Inuyasha.
"Don't you dare insult Kagome, you filthy pile of regurgitated horse shit! She's never done anything but care for you and love you even when you pushed her away! Just because she is my mate and carrying my pups does not mean you have the right to insult her or my pups! Do you understand me?" His voice was slow, deep, and angry, a deep growl emitting from his throat at each word. Inuyasha stared in shock then anger at the man who held him aloft by his neck.
"Let me go you bastard!" Inuyasha yelled.
"Don't ever insult Kagome again," Sesshoumaru's voice was cold, soft, and deadly. Inuyasha gave the faintest nod, then was dropped onto his ass.
Sesshoumaru walked over to Kagome and offered his hand to her.
"Shall we return home then?" He asked softly. She nodded and took his hand. Rin and Shippo were all ready as the couple departed on Ah and Un.
Inuyasha stared after him, black hatred eating at his soul. `How could she do this to me?'
