A/N: Hey guys!!! Back with another instalment of… A Modern Fairytale!!! Yes, yes, I know, lame, but I get really bored really easily, and wow, I'm telling you my life story… heheheheh don't mind me…
Well here's the story…:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Ed…” Kaya growled under her breath. `This kid is so annoying!' She thought. `Well Kaya,' her Youkai reasoned `how could he have known?' `Well, if he took the trouble to look me up, couldn't he have taken the trouble to find out what people called me? I mean, how did he find me in the first place?' `Probably through the Higurashis. I mean, if you haven't noticed, they ARE being sorta secretive these days…'
Kaya was snapped out of her trance by the sound of Ed talking. He was telling her class.
“…Despite what you think, your classmate, Kaya, or Syren as you know her, isn't what she seems.” He was saying, “Kaya is not human. At all. She's about…8 different races, right Kay?”
She glared at him, and said, “Okay, guys, I know you're probably gonna want to go and tell all your friends about this, but if you do, and they tell other people, I cannot be held responsible for what will happen to you. As you see each race that I am, Ed will tell you a bit about each one. But first I think that I should tell you about my parents. You actually know quite a lot about them. They aren't the Higurashis, and Kagome isn't my sister. My parents are Syren and Takeo Taisho.”
Everyone gasped at her confession. One girl put up her hand, and Kaya recognized her as Kikyo, a miko who was trying in vain to hide her powerful aura. When she nodded at her, Kikyo asked “So, Kaya-sama, how old are you? Because your parents, if alive today, would be at least 500 years old, right?”
“Yes, Kikyo. I am much older than all of you, but by Youkai standards, I am quite young. I am only about 50 years old. Now, if you all don't mind waiting until after we show you what I am to ask questions, we'll start.”
Ed took a deep breath, realizing he would be spilling the best kept secrets the world has ever had to a class of 17 year olds, that he hadn't even met before. He glanced at Kaya for reasurrance, then started speaking. “Kaya is part Kitsune Youkai, Elemental Youkai, Elf, Miko, Alchemist, Vampire, and Tenshi. She is very well trained, so she will not hurt any of you in her different forms. In fact, she is almost her regular self, except for appearance, though her appearance in her Miko and Alchemist forms, except for clothing.”
Here Kaya called upon her Kitsune energy, and let her true Kitsune form show. She emitted a light so bright that everyone had to close their eyes. They heard a beautiful voice chanting, and when they opened their eyes, they saw a beautiful woman, who was chanting a spell in Ancient Japanese. She was wearing a tight, sleeveless white shirt, a black and silver fur pelt was wrapped around her waist, along with a leather sword belt (A/N: sorry, forgot what it's called) that held a beautiful sword. Her long silver hair was up in pigtails, and you could see her pointed ears.
When she opened her eyes, and opened her mouth to lick her chapped lips, everyone gasped. They realized that she had long, sharp-looking fangs, and black painted claws. They also gasped because of the color of her eyes. They were a bright bright green, almost lime green, that were absolutely beautiful. They could immediately tell that she was a hime.
“This is Kaya's Kitsune form. Kitsunes are tricksters, and are known for being playful and almost always cheerful, even in the worst situations. But also, like most Youkai, they have a temper, so don't get on their bad sides.” Ed informed the class, as soon as they stopped talking among each other.
Next Kaya reined back her Kitsune blood, and let her Elemental Youkai free. Like before, there was a bright flash of light, and everyone heard the voice chanting in Ancient Japanese. This time when they looked up, they saw a tall, thin, mint green haired Youkai standing there. She had piercing green eyes, and green painted claws. She was very toned and tan, and was wearing clothes that showed off her figure.
She was wearing a chocolate brown corset, a knee length forest green skirt with slits up the sides. She also had the same sword belt as last time, but this time, she also had a quiver on her back. Her sword had an emerald studded hilt, and the blade seemed to shimmer with different shades of green. Her bow was a long bow, which had been deemed nearly impossible to shoot with deadly accuracy, but obviously she could, or else she wouldn't have it.
“Elemental Youkai are pretty much Elves, just they are more deadly, and have a much worse temper. They can call upon all of the elements, and use them as they please, but to some extent.” Ed said, but obviously in awe himself. He had only seen Kaya like this a few times. And that was when they were kids. She'd grown.
She the called in her Youki, and became an Elf. Her hair visibly lengthened and darkened until it reached the floor and was a rich forest green. Her eyes also darkened, and became a dark green. She grew to almost 6', and her features became more angular. Her nails shortened, and her fangs disappeared.
Her clothes stayed the same, but the sword disappeared. If possible, she stood taller, with even more pride, and even if you had never seen her before, you would know she was royal, and not human.
“If you have read Eldest and Eragon, then you don't need me to tell you about Elves. The only difference is that real Elves do eat meat and kill other animals, but only for food. They also don't ride around on magically bred horses. They do, however sing their homes out of trees.” Ed said, and seeing a hand go up, he said, “Yes, InuYasha? Yes, I know who you are, my father was good friends with your father before I was born. What do you want to know?”
InuYasha, still shocked that Ed knew who he was, stammered, “W-w-ell, Syr-Kaya c-can't s-sing all th-that well, so h-how would sh-she sing her h-house out of a t-tree?”
Ed chuckled. “ If you don't believe that she has an amazing voice, listen to her sing. She can pick the song, if she wants. Kaya? Will you sing for the lad?” Ed asked her, not knowing of the previous relationship between the two.
Kaya nodded, and started singing her favorite song. It almost always made her cry, but today, for some reason, it didn't. Facing InuYasha mostly, she started to sing.
You held me up when I was down
Said everything without a sound,
Yah, you're beautiful.
Now you fill me up like a ghost,
When you're far away you're always close.
Our chain is unbreakable.
Whatever happens, wherever I go,
I want you to know
That I'm driving blind
And I'm half alive
Spinning around
When you're not here my feet don't touch the ground
Day and Night
What's left is not right
I'm upside down
Losing you is turning me inside, turning me inside out
And all the words I might have said
Got twisted up instead and I
I wish you were here tonight
It feels so cold inside this place
So alone, surrounded by your space
I'm empty now
Whatever happens, wherever I go,
I want you to know
That I'm driving blind
And I'm half alive
Spinning around
When you're not here my feet don't touch the ground
Day and Night
What's left is not right
I'm upside down
Losing you is turning me inside, turning me inside out
If you could see me now, would you save me
Before I crash to the ground
Can you hear me?
And I'm driving blind
Cause I'm half alive
Spinning around
When you're not here
Day and Night
What's left's not right
I'm upside down,
Losing you is turning me inside, turning me inside out
Turning me inside, Turning me inside out
Turning me inside out.
Everyone had gone silent as the first note had slipped out of her mouth, and they all stared in awe as she rose about an inch off the floor, and kept on singing in her sweet soprano voice.
By the end of the first chorus, they had all closed their eyes, all but one. InuYasha. His golden eyes were locked on Kaya's dark green ones. He flinched as he realized that she was singing the song to him, and as the last notes faded sweetly, she watched as tears threatened to spill over.
“Oh my god, that was wonderful Syren! Wait, sorry Kaya-sama.” Everyone said at once. They had never heard a more beautiful, rich sound.
Kaya blushed and just said in a singsong voice, “Let's get on to the next race…” And called out the Miko energy inside her.
Her hair shortened to her shoulders and turned blonde, her eyes became a lighter, more smoky shade, and her teeth got braces on them.
Her clothes changed into traditional robes, but in green and white, not red and white. Her bow and arrows appeared, along with her quiver. As well, a beautiful mint green obi (A/N: Think Sesshomaru) appeared around her waist.
“I don't think I really need to tell you about Mikos because many of you are Mikos, and if you need an explanation, just ask any one of them. The only difference though, is that Kaya is Midoriko-sama's reincarnation. She is meant to lead everyone to peace. That is primarily why I am here.”
Kaya rolled her eyes, and changed into her Alchemist form. Her hair remained the same, but was in a braid down her back. She was wearing a tight black tube top, Tight, sexy black jeans with 10 chains, all different lengths, a XXL black hoodie, with a Hagane on the back, and black chucks. She had a glove on her left arm, and you could see that her arm, or hand at least, had turned to metal.
Ed turned and smiled at this version of his friend. She was damn sexy. “Kaya's alchemist form is pretty much her human form, but her whole left arm is made of metal. My right arm and leg are made of metal as well, but if you want to know why, you'll have to ask her. I don't think it's my right to tell you. If any of you were wondering, Alchemists aren't born with metal bodies. It's something that me, Kaya and my little brother, Alphonse did that made us like this. My little brother was worse though. He killed himself. He was all metal.”
Kaya looked up in shock at this. `Alphonse…dead… Why? The only person I considered a true brother… not even me and Ed are that close…'
Noticing people looking at her, and also realizing that if she started crying, her makeup would smudge, she decided to forget about it for the moment.
She smirked. This one would scare them for sure. (A/N: Can you guess?)
Her clothes changed into a tight, blood red and black corset dress and strappy stilettos. She grew long fangs, her skin paled to near-white, her eyes turned blood red, and her hair shortened to a chin length bob, and turned black. Her nails lengthened to almost the length of claws and turned a blood red.
Everyone gasped, and people started talking in hushed whispers. She looked at them, and said, “If you wanna see something really cool, watch.” And she tapped the insides of her wrists twice, while chanting under her breath. She felt the blades slipping out of her arms, and smiled. Well, it looked like a smirk, but it's all the same, right?
Everyone gasped, and watched as the blood red blades slid out of her arms.
“These are called Hell's Blood Wings, and can any of you tell me what I am?” She drawled in a superior sounding voice.
Several people put up their hands, and Kaya called on Sesshomaru, InuYasha's half brother. He said “You are a vampire, Kaya-sama, and I am proud to have known you.”
She smiled at that, and said, “I'm proud to have known you too, Sesshomaru-san.”
“Anyways, lets get on with the intro!” Ed said, jelous that Sesshomaru was getting all of lovely Kaya's attention. “ Vampires are very violent creatures, and you never want to be on the bad side of one of them. Contrary to popular belief, they do not kill their victims, unless they have been threatened. Kaya comes from a royal bloodline, and is well connected in each one of her forms. She is a Hime in every race-“ Kaya cut him off.
“ Actually, Ed, I have one more form that hasn't shown until a while back. I am also a Tenshi. Would you all like to see it, then all my forms combined?” She asked everyone, getting a very enthusiastic, yes from her classmates.
She smiled, and let the wings that had been aching for a while to come out, and felt the clothing that she had been wearing disentigrate and instantaneously be replaced by new ones. She felt her hair lengthen, and felt her fangs retract. She looked down and smiled at the outfit that she had picked for this form of hers.
She was wearing a sleeveless black mini-dress with a low cut, string up back, black fishnets and knee high sexy black boots.
All the boys wolf-whistled, and all the girls stared in envy at Kaya as she spread her wide black wings, stretching the tired muscles.
Ed stood in awe, and said, “Well, if she sees fit, Kaya will tell you about this form…” and trailed off, as she winked at him.
“Nah, I don't thinks that's necessary. I'll just show you what I look like aall together, and not just in little broken pieces.”
She let all her energy loose, and closed her eyes as she felt the changes happening, and chanted. When the light that had suddenly flared up disappeared, everyone just sat there, openmouthed.
In front of them stood a beautiful young woman with waist-length forest green hair, with silver streaks brilliant green eyes with silver flecks, pale skin, black green and silver painted claws, long, sharp fangs, and huge black angel wings, that had about a 20 foot wingspan. She was about 6 feet tall, and very muscular in a pretty sort of way. (A/N: Think Sesshomaru, muscular and damn strong, but not too muscular)
She was wearing a tightly bound forest green corset, that had long, flowy, mint green sleeves attached, but no shoulders. (A/N: If any of you guys get what I mean, can you please try to draw a pic of this for me? I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.)
She was wearing a knee length skirt with slits up the sides, and all her weapons hooked onto her belt, and her bow and arrows on her back.
She was barefoot, and her long forest green, silver and black obi just barely brushed the floor.
Just as people started to talk, InuYasha stumbled forwards, with tears shining in his eyes. “You- you knew the whole time? And you never told me? You just let me go… I thought you cared…?” He said, as the first drops slipped down his face.
Kaya smiled sadly. “ I knew you wouldn't understand. I mean, I was good friends with your father. You and me were meant to be married when you came of age, because of this friendship. I am sorry for your loss. And if I understand properly, Sesshomaru-san is now the Tai-Youkai of the West, right?”
InuYasha, surprised, glanced back at his half brother. You- you are?” he asked, surprised. Then his face fell. “Wait, you and me are meant to be mated? But…”
Kaya chuckled. “We aren't anymore. When your father died, the agreement was over. Unless, of course, your brother wants to fufill the agreement…” she left the end hanging.
“HALF brother,” Sesshomaru corrected, “and, no, I do not wish to fufil that particular agreement.”
“So it's settled then. I did love you InuYasha, but you obviously didn't love me enough to trust me, and know that I would love you no matter what. So it really is over then… Goodbye.” Kaya said, just as a helicopter landed outside.
