[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

Hey guys. My life has pretty much been spinning out of control recently, and as a warning to you guys, things might get a little weird. As I've told some of you, it might get a little dark, but I'll try to keep from doing that. So, here we are with the chapter.

Blaire wiped the mixture of blood and sweat out of her eyes, and threw her dagger into the heart of the demon before her. She sighed, and turned and walked home.

Her older sister Dessie hugged her when she walked in the door and screamed when she collapsed on the tile floor.

When Blaire woke up, the first thing she saw was her twin's worried face. “Faren…” she moaned, “What happened…?”

Faren relaxed in the chair next to her bed, and started speaking really quickly. “Well you came home after a hunt, and then Dessie hugged you, then you fainted, then we were all worried, and we didn't know what to do, `cause we couldn't take you to the hospital, `cause we're demons, and we didn't want…” she trailed off, as she thought of their dead parents.

`She didn't want it to happen again…' Blaire thought. Faren had been the most attached to their mother, and when she died, she took it the hardest. She had locked herself in her room for a year, not even coming out for food, and she wouldn't let anyone come in. `Damn this job…' she thought.

She looked at Faren, and hugged her. “Don't worry Rennie. I won't let anything happen to me, I promise.” She said, reassuringly to her sister.

“Well ,I'm glad you're alive and well, now I've got to get going. My shift starts in a few minutes, and I'm gonna be late. I hope you're happy…” Faren said jokingly. “Try not to kill yourself while I'm gone.”

She got up and walked out of the room, leaving Blaire to her memories.

Blaire thought back to the day she and Faren first found out that they were demons.

~Flashback~

She and Faren were swimming in the heated pond, when they saw a strange woman stumbling up the driveway. They yelled for Dessie, and ran to help the lady.

She was beautiful, with teal eyes, ground length golden red hair, and a long flowing green kimono with swords tucked into the obi. She had a huge hole in her stomach, and they were surprised that she could still walk. When they reached her, they realized that she wasn't human. She had claws and fangs, and pointed ears. They were a tiny bit scared, but she was in pain, so they went to help her.

When Dessie finally came running out of the house, she saw her two sisters helping the woman up the driveway. “Mom!!!” she yelled, horrified.

Blaire and Faren looked at each other, confused. They looked back at the woman they were holding up, and then gasped. It WAS their mother!

“Mommy… why aren't you human?” Faren had asked.

~End Flashback~

Blaire sat on her bed with tears streaming down her cheeks. She had learned the best and worst news of her life on that day.

The good news was that she was a demon, and related to the most important demons in all of Japan, but the bad news made the good news pale in comparison.

Her mother was going to die.

She had been out protecting her cousin, Kaya, and they had gotten attacked by a very powerful demon, named Naraku. Her mother hadn't been able to defeat him, but she did succeed in saving Kaya.

Sadly, in pursuit of revenge, both her Aunt Syren and her Uncle Takeo had been killed. Luckily, hey had died with Naraku, so he wouldn't bother anyone ever again.

From that day forward, Blaire had made it her mission in life to serve her cousins Kaya and Lylie. When she first went to pledge her services to the girls, she learned that Kaya had fled in a fit of rage, and nobody had heard of her whereabouts, and nobody could find her, not even the best detectives in the country.

Blaire saw how vulnerable Lylie was without any family members left, so she started training as an assassin, and after 10 years, she was ready to protect and serve Lylie, not that she need a bodyguard, but whatever.

That day, the castle had been attacked by one of Naraku's offspring, who had sought out revenge, so Blaire had to fight at her best. She had taken a lot of hard blows, but she had gotten through it, and killed the demoness. She couldn't really remember nything past Lylie looking down at her, lying on the ground and instantly teleporting her to the miko's tent to be healed. She had been healed perfectly, but she had used up almost all of her energy, and could barely stay conscious, and that was why she had blacked out as soon as she got home.

Faren walked to work, thinking about her sister's dangerous job. Faren had followed in her twin's footsteps, and dedicated her services to Lylie, but she wasn't a guard or anything, she just searched really hard for Kaya.

She remembered the first time Blaire had told her and Dessie about her new job. Dessie had been inconsolable for months, and she wouldn't talk to Blaire for a really long time afterwards. She still wasn't that happy with her, but she would talk to her at least.

Faren's biggest worries were for her sister's wellbeing. Blaire had the same job that their mother had when she was killed. She had calmed down a bit when Blaire turned out to be an excellent assassin, and was in the top ranks, but now she was just more nervous. Lylie had called her to tell her that Blaire was fighting Kagura, one of Naraku's spawn, and Faren had immediately remembered who had killed her mother.

She was really relieved that Blaire was okay, and happy that she had killed the demoness, but she was definalty worried about what was to come.

That day, she was just looking through a bunch of names of girls who went to schools in an around Tokyo. She had gone over them a while ago, but hadn't found anyone named Kaya, so she had put them away and forgotten about them, however, she had a sudden thought on the way to work. Maybe she was using another name! So she went through the lists again, looking for any name that Kaya might use as a disguise. Suddenly, a name popped off the page at her. `That's it! Syren!' She thought to herself, elated. She called in Lylie and showed her.

“Higurashi? That's the name of the family that owns a shrine here!” Lylie had said, “but maybe we should try her at school, because I don't want to have to wait another 5 hours to find out if this is her.” So, she called in Ed, Kaya's childhood friend, who would know her anywhere.

“Ed,” Lylie started, “I think we may have found Kaya, so I was wondering if you could maybe go and see if it's really her…” she asked.

“Uh, okay.” He said, slightly surprised. “So if it's her, I'll just tell you?” He asked.

“Sure. Wait, how? Pager, or what?” Lylie asked.

“Uh, I'll just text you, okay?” He said, and then, not even waiting for a response, walked out of the room and to the school.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lylie jumped like a rocket out of her chair when she finally received the text message. “It's her! It's her!” she yelled, obviously really excited.
She grabbed Faren's hands and swung her in a circle. Faren just laughed at her mistresses antics. “Well then, why are we still here? Lets get going!” She laughed.
They ran outside to the waiting helicopter. Lylie was quiet all the way to the school, thinking about how it was going to be nice, finally getting to meet her older sister.
