A/N: this is my first fic so please review...

Summary: It was only a visit so she thought. Naraku had killed them all when she
thought she had killed him, but she thought wrong. Hiei was the only one left and
now he had joined her. the only thing she was happy about was Shippo and Kilala
were still alive.

A new Journey, A new Friend, A new Mate

Chapter 1: So it begins.

There was a path to the south and a path to the west.

Kagome stood there at the fork in the road trying to
think of which one to take. She watched both roads
and then heard Sango and Miroku coming. They
looked at her curious to what she was doing.

Then she headed down the south path and waved to
her friends as they went west. The reason they left
each other was because Kagome needed to find herself.
Shippo came with her because she couldn't leave her son
behind. Kagome and Shippo had grown close and were
like family. Since Inuyasha's death she hadn't talked
much as before.

She missed him so much but now she had to move on. She
decided to head south because she had been in the west and
didnt want to remember where Inuyasha once lived and is
burried at.

A lone tear fell and she quickly brushed it away and kept walking
along the path. Shippo had smelt the scent of salt and looked over
at his mother. She looked over at him and gave him a fake smile. He
smiled back but was still worried about her.

"Mama, where are we headed," Shippo asked.

"Hmmm, I dont know Shippo, probally the southern castle or near
there," Kagome said.

"Why are we going there?"

"Well Shippo, were going there to visit one of my friends who lives
there," Kagome answered.

"Okay," Shippo said happily because his mother was in a happier mood.
