InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A New Sibling ❯ Ayumu's Argument ( Chapter 13 )
I got bored (like usual) and decided to start on this chapter…This entire fanfic is based entirely on my boredom! I just got bored one day and decided "Hey, I'm going to write a fanfic!"
Quote of the chapter:
"I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior." - Hippolyte Tain.
Movie quote, movie quote is:
"My mouth was open and everything!" - Donkey from "Shrek".
On with the story!

*Naraku's castle*
"Find them and bring her back here. Kill those who get in your way."
"Hai, Naraku."
"Kanna, assist Kagura and keep me informed if the puppet is destroyed."
The small demon just gave him her usual blank look and a small affirmative nod.
In another second Kagura and Kanna were in the air, closely followed by one of Naraku's demon puppets.
*Ayumu's bed chamber*
<Stupid jerk, thinks he can just order me around…this is as much my castle as it is his…I don't care if he is taiyoukai or not!>
Ayumu stopped her pacing when she heard a light knock on her door. She smelt Kuzume's scent intrude into her room along with the nervousness accompanying it.
"What do you want, Kuzume?"
Kuzume slid the door open and stepped inside, closing it behind her. She walked over to the bed, standing opposite Ayumu.
"I-I," Kuzume was indeed nervous, and Ayumu's glare, looking down her nose at her, was not helping in the slightest, "I wanted to apologize." She looked down at her feet, hoping beyond hope that she would not anger the youkai that stood mere feet from her.
"For what exactly, are you apologizing to me for?"
"For causing trouble for you…I didn't mean to make Sesshoumaru come in here and yell at you on my behalf."
Ayumu grunted at her skittishness and turned around, opening the doors to her balcony. <Sure, she didn't…I'm sure she went directly to Sesshoumaru about it…>
Kuzume took the sound as a type of dismissal and left.

*Sesshoumaru's study*
`…She will never learn…'
Sesshoumaru slowly raised his head from the scroll he was reading. Kuzume was standing outside the door, and it didn't look like she was about to move anytime soon. He stood up and walked to the door, hoping that Ayumu had not injured her again.
Opening the door, he saw Kuzume standing there looking at the ground. After a moment she noticed that he was in the door way and looked up at him.
"Ayumu…?"
She slowly nodded her head at him and he stepped past her, stopping when he felt a tug on his sleeve.
Sesshoumaru looked back at Kuzume and she said, "Do not yell at her. She isn't purposefully being as she is. I'm sure of it."
He gave her one last look and took off toward Ayumu's room once more. He may have had access to her thoughts the last few days, but he still couldn't figure out why Ayumu was hesitant to accept Kuzume. She had done nothing to provoke this behavior.
~*~
*Guess where…*
<I wonder how long his nice attitude will last in here…*evil mental grin*>
"Tell me, sister. Why do you not accept Kuzume?"
"I have my reasons."
"Yes, I would imagine so, but would you be so kind as to clue me in? I have no earthly idea what you're thinking."
Sesshoumaru was getting agitated. He was trying his hardest to control his temper, listening to what Kuzume had said, but it was easier said than done.
<Oh, yes…He's already raising his voice…I probably shouldn't push him, but he has made this a game for me a long time ago…*rolls eyes*>
"Kyu kunach chya nia! Kyu tuchun tusht bi?"
Sesshoumaru growled lowly at her remark. "Ayumu, naki tam kyu doku?"
"Friyaku, sua…?" Ayumu said warily, not trusting Sesshoumaru's kind tone of voice.
Sesshoumaru smirked and lunged at her, pulling her now-healed arm behind her back before she even had time to take two steps toward the door. He only held one arm and was struggling to restrain the second when she reached back, grabbing the back of his neck and tossing him across the room.
Ayumu jumped over the bed, landing in front of Sesshoumaru, and hastily leapt over him and ran out the door as he recovered from his being tossed. She ran down the hallway toward the courtyard for more open space, closely followed by Sesshoumaru.
As she ran, she quickly used her powers inherited from her mother to pass through the bedroom walls, accidentally passing through InuYasha's chambers as he prepared for bed. Sesshoumaru, who had inherited his father's powers, quickly ran through the familiar corridors.
<Right, okay…I need to get to an open area where we can both move freely…I don't want a second "Naraku's castle" incident on my hands…That break hurt!>
Just as she finished the thought, Ayumu burst through the last wall and into the courtyard, right before Sesshoumaru.
Ayumu jumped into the air, but Sesshoumaru had sensed the move coming and was just above her. He plummeted toward her, and shouldered the small of her back, grounding her into the dirt. (A/N: KuKuKu…that's gotta hurt… ^. ^*)
As he stood, Sesshoumaru looked beneath him. Ayumu had not gotten up yet.
She was face down, still motionless. He flipped her over and, as he'd expected, though, the impact had caused a rip in her skin. There was a bloody gash about four and a half inches long across the side of her stomach. What he wasn't expecting was the large cut on her forehead. Blood was slowly staining her garments from the two open wounds.
Sesshoumaru lifted her into her arms and carried her bridal-style to her room, setting her down and bandaging her himself.

*Somewhere in the North*
"Oi, Suzuka! How are you?"
"Not now, Ayumu. I'm trying to sleep."
Ayumu leapt from the tree she was perched in and landed a few feet in front of the younger woman.
Suzuka now held herself tall, wearing clothes to show her modest figure. She was unnaturally tall, with a neck and legs that were much longer than they should be.
Suzuka was the current taiyoukai of the North, taking over after her father died, and bore the mark of the Northern Lands: three dark red stripes down the center of her forehead, matching the three stripes that traced her high cheeks bones that proved she was within the great Inu-youkai family.
"Yeah, Yeah, I know!" Ayumu held her hands up in a motion to show understanding.
"What did he do this time?"
"Oh, we were just having another fight. Anyway-"
"Another?! You two seriously need to learn how to get along better!"
She opened her eyes and turned to fully face Ayumu. Ayumu stared into the deep depths of her cousin's eyes. Then, her eyes traveled farther down to take in the rest of her body.
"When," Ayumu put her hand over her mouth, trying not to laugh. "did those show up?"
Suzuka rolled her eyes and traced the three stripes on either side of her stomach and down her chest.
"They started to become visible a couple of years after Father died. Now, did you want something or are you here to torture me further?"
"Oh, right! I wanted to know if you were to busy to come…'visit'…us?!"
"Fine, but you so owe me one, Ayumu!"
"No problem…"
And with that, Ayumu faded from the recesses of her cousin's mind, back to her own body.
Suzuka woke up shortly after, greeting the dawn light with a yawn and a stretch. She lifted herself from her bed and made her way to her own stables to take a dragon to the Western Lands. She was done with patrolling her lands for awhile. Besides, she could do with a good reunion with her cousins. It had been years since the last time they had jumped Sesshoumaru in the halls of the citadel.

I'd pay to see that! Okay, once again, Thanks, RFP, for the suggestions!
I'll get the next chapter out as soon as I can!
