Chapter Ten
Sesshomaru stopped suddenly. He could now catch Kagome's scent, and blood. He frowned even more when Naraku's scent was mingled with hers. Another minute passed, when he finally spotted them. He growled when he saw Kagome unconcious and Naraku walking slowly towards her.
"Naraku! Leave. Now, or I will kill you." Sesshomaru growled out.
"I'm afraid I cannot do that. I need the shikon jewel."
"You will not have it."
"Oh, what do you suppose? You surely cannot have a use for it....and I'm sure that a human wouldn't need it." Naraku said.
"Just leave."
"I think not!" Naraku shouted, tenticles coming from his body. One snaked its way towards Sesshomaru, but he easily dodged it. Several more followed and Sesshomaru unsheathed Tokijin. He sliced the tenticles, but hundreds more followed, and he could only dodge and hack some off, not able to get any closer to Naraku.
Kagome moaned. Her head hurt like hell. She set up slowly, rubbing her head. Then her eyes focused more clearly and she saw that Naraku was fighting Sesshomaru. The REAL Sesshomaru. She watched as hundreds of tenticle things attacked him.
Kagome heard a small whimper and looked down nest to her side. There was Shippo. There was a gash on his head and she glared. *Why did he do that to Shippo?* Then she remembered Shippo coming to her rescue. She gently ruffled his hair and stood up. He was in a good spot where he wouldn't get hurt. Kagome concentrated on her brief dream. It had told her to do something.
DREAM
Choose. You must choose. Do you want to become a Shiroi Miko? You have a choice." A light voice spoke.
"Yes. I do want to." Kagome decided.
"Very well. When you awake, contrate on your energy. You will see a small glowing orb light. Grasp it."
"That's all?" Kagome questioned.
"From there, your powers will awaken and you will transform."
END DREAM
Kagome began concentrating on her energy. Like the voice had said, a glowing orb appeared. Kagome reached out to grasp it and when her fingers closed around her, a burst of warmth flowed through her. She knew she was beginning to change.
Sesshomaru shielded his eyes, and so did Naraku. A bright light had eropted from somewhere and both had ceased their attacks. Once the light faded, he looked over to see Kagome floating in the air. Her midnight black hair swirled around her, but now swirls of silver were streaked through it. He could see a silver six pointed star in the middle of her forehead and one sliver stripe under each eye. A pair of silver wings appeared on her back, and they flapped to keep her in the air.
When she opened her eyes, they were glowing blue, no irises or anything. She raised her arms up slowly and he could SEE her powers flowing around her. They swirled around her, licking at her body like bluish purple flames. To Sesshomaru, she looked like a goddess. But he knew that she had somehow transformed into her real form and was now almost as deadly as he.
"Naraku." She said, voice filled with many emotions. "Leave now, and never bother me again."
"I'm not leaving until you hand over the shikon!" Naraku yelled.
"You will not leave?" Kagome asked.
"No." Naraku said.
"Very well. You leave me no choice but to kill you, even though I'd rather not." Kagome said. Naraku looked surprised along with Sesshomaru. Kagome flew at Naraku, faster than either two youkai could enticipate. As soon as she was in front of Naraku, her naginata appeared in her hand magically and Kagome slashed at Naraku. Being surprised, Naraku was hit in the gut, hard. Blood rushed down his stomach and Kagome continued attacking, leaving Sesshomaru stunned. Kagome slashed at Naraku, he barely dodging.
Kagome hit him in the shoulder, knocking him down, back several feet. Kagome walked slowly towards Naraku. But he only smiled. "I have no wish to die today. I will be seeing you again, miko." He said, opening a portal and jumping in it, disappearing before Kagome. Sesshomaru walked over to Kagome. Just as he stood next to her, she turned to face him, smiled, and colasped in his arms, her wings disappearing. Other than that, she still had silver streaks in her hair and the silver star on her head and markings. He lifted her into his arms and carried her back to his castle.
