"Kagome!" Sango screamed, as she threw her Hiraikotsu, the giant boomerang flipping through the air towards the giant demon that had caught hold of Kagome.
The demon was swift however, and evaded the attack. "Give me the jewel shards, Miko!" it snarled, it's rough hands wrapping around her waist.
"Or I shall squeeze the air right from your fragile lungs!"
Kagome whimpered, and tryed to pry it's tightening hands off of her small waist, tears brimmin in her eyes. "Let go of me!" she yelled, franticley, scrabbling at it's fingers. The hands of the demon had constricted tightly around her waist, and she was gasping for air.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha yelled, as he darted out of the trees. Shit, he thought, as he saw her current predicament. I'll have to kill it with my bare hands, or I'll hurt Kagome. "Inuyash-" Kagome wheezed, as the demons gripped tightened even further. An emmense pain seared up Kagomes side, and she felt a rib break.
"Let go of her you bastard!" He snarled as Sango jumped from Kirara's back, and withdrew her katana. Miroku was having troubles of his own, trying to fend off a spider demon that had surprised him with a large attack of venom. Sango dashed towards Miroku, and began to hack away at the cocoon like silk wrapped around his frame. Meanwhile, Inuyasha was slashing away at the demon, who had long ago dropped Kagomes small frame, and backed away.
"Time to die, demon." Inuyasha smirked, pulling his Tetsusaiga from it's sheath. Raising it above his head, the large fang began to grow a vibrant yellow, before he slammed it into the earth. "Windscar!" he screamed. Violent torrents of light pulsed from the fang, rushing towards the wounded demon, tearing up the earth, enveloping the screaming youkai, before all was silent.
"Kagome," Inuyasha said, sheathing his weapon and turning, kneeling down beside her. Kagome groaned, and pulled herself into an unstable seated position.
"..My head," she mumbled, holding her head in one hand. "Are the jewel shards alright?" he asked quietly. Anger flared in Kagome, and her cheeks turned pink. "Of course there alright!" she snapped, pulling herself to her feet, refusing to show the pain physicley and emotionally, that she felt at that moment.
"Is that all you care about?" she yelled, once on her feet.
"No-it's just that-"
"Jeez!" Kagome fumed, turning around. "You stupid, self-centred--" she gripped her side, stopping for a moment, to regain her breath. "--half demon!"
Marching weakly over to Sango who had, with Miroku's assistance, destroyed the spider youkai, and freed the monk. "..Sango, ...is it alright if I-" she winced, and kneeled down. "Whats wrong Kagome? You're hurt, sit down." Sango wrapped her arms around her friends shoulders, as Miroku sat back pulling off remnants of the spider web from his kimono.
"Kagome," Inuyasha said, standing up. "Sit." She said, frowning. Inuyasha's contact with the earth almost instantly after the command, was painful, due to the amount of emotion in her voice. "...Urgh.." he groaned, about to pull himself up. "Sit." Inuyasha slammed into the earth once more, his face buried in the ground.
"I'm going home," she snapped, standing up slowly. "And don't come back to get me either!" she tuurned to Sango. "Can I borrw Kirara?" Sango blinked. "Of course, Kagome." Kirara mewed, and turned, so that it was easier for Kagome to climb onto the feline's back. "Ka-gome." Inuyasha moaned, pulling himself to his knees, than, slowly, to his feet. "What the hell?" he yelled, stepping towards her. His hand reached out, as if to grab her and pull her off the youkai.
"SIT!" She yelled. Inuyasha slammed into the earth, one more time, and this time, renderd him unconiousse. "I'll come back when I'm ready," she told Sango and Miroku. "And whenever Shippo comes around, please tell him that too." Sango nodded, as Miroku looked over at Inuyasha, begrudgingly, with sympathy.
With that, Kirara jumped, and soared into the air, headed towards the Bone-Eaters well.

That evening, Kagome sat in her bedroom, in her own time, staring at a arithmatic book, which made absolutely no sense to her.Running a hand over her bruised rib, she winced and lyed down. Earlier her mother had taken her to a doctor, and found that her rib wasn't broken, just badly bruised, thankfully.
Staring up at the ceiling, she crossed her feet at the ankles, and sniffed. "Inuyasha, you dumb hanyou," she whimpered, her hands tracing the patterns on the embroidery in her quilt. "I don't know if it's Kikyou's love continuing through me..but.." she turned, and sat up again, pulling her legs off the side of the bed. "..I love him. Why can't he see that?" He's still inlove with Kikyou. A thought filtered through her mind, and she looked down. Touching the Shikon No Tama around her neck, she looked out th window. The sun was setting, creating a deep orange and dark maroon color across the darkening sky, and she stared out at the changing color's and bit her lip. "I just want him to love me back," she said, looking down.
