"Come, stay with me, Inuyasha, you want to be with me, don't you?"
Kikyou's voice, soft, and as caressing as the hand that touched Inuyasha's cheek. His eyelids drooped, concealing the amber eyes, which had become clouded over.
"Kikyou, I've thought of you every day since it happened.." he murmerd against her caresses.
"Be with me in hell, Inuyasha, where we can stay together." Inuyasha nodded, his eyes still closed. A large sound was heard, and the ground around the two began to crack, and a dark hot light swelled from the tears in the earth.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome screamed. He couldn't hear her. See her. She was invisible to him. "Inuyasha! Snap out of it!"
She struggled against Kikyou's soul collecters, that had pulled her to the tree, pinning her there, rendering her helpless.
"Be with me, Inuyasha.."
-
"Inuyasha, No!" Kagome sat up, breathing heavily, staring in the darkness of her room.
A light sheen of presperation line her forhead, and she clutched her blankets, breathing raggidly. Tears streamed down her face, as her breathing slowed, and she whiped franticley at them, as sobs racked her body, her efforts to stop the tears futile.
She looked over at her window, where a bright full moon shone through a thin ring of clouds.
The tears eventually slowed, than stopped, and she closed her eyes, falling back onto her bed. "I wish I could just pretend this never happened.."

The next morning, as sunlight filtered in through her bedroom window, Kagome was awoken by a loud banging on her door. "What?!" she snapped, awake instantly. She sat up, and rubbed her eyes, with her palm. Her young brother, Sota, stepped in grinning like mad. "Mom says time to get up."
"I'm coming than," she said, throwing a pillow at the door. "Now get out of my room!" Sota's eyes widened, and he did, just before the pillow flew into the spot where he'd been standing moments earlier. Grumbling, the sleepy girl pulled herself out of the bed, and stretched. She stopped when an aching in her ribs began to smart curtly. "How'd that happen?" she shrugged it off however, and put on her school fuku. Running a brush through her hair, she pulled on her socks, and yanked open her door, and jogged down the stairs. "Good morning, everyone!" she said, cheerfully, despite her mood, as she sat down at the table.
"Good morning, Kagome." her mother said, kindly, as she placed a bowl of oatmeal down infront of her. "Eat up. You have a big day!" Kagome nodded as she ate her breakfast. But she couldn't help feeling that something wasn't right. She said farewell to her mother, and pulled on her shoes, and headed towards school, her backpack strapped to her shoulders.
"Kagome!" Kagome stopped, and turned around. She was about half way to school when her friend Yuki, who was waving to her, and running towards her at the same time, caught up. "Kagome, Oh..I'm so glad I caught up with you," she breathed."Did you study for that science test we have this morning?"
Kagome blinked, and smiled. "Actually, I have." Yuki blinked. "At least someone did, than." she clasped her hands together and bowed low, in respect. "Kagome, can I please borrow your notes? I've been busy all night, and haven't had a chance to study." Kagome nodded, and pulled her backpack off of her shoulders. Unzipping the bag, she pulled out her notes. A necklace fell from her hands, and she looked down at her feet. It was tinted pink, and only half of it was there, and it hung on a delicate chain. The Shikon No Tama a thought pushed into her conciousness. Bending down, Kagome picked it up, and inspected it. "What is that?" Yuki asked, as they continued walking. Kagome's brows furrowed, and she shook her head. "I'm not sure." she replied, before stuffing it into her bag once more, leaving it to beforgotten until the end of the day. "Anyways, lets go!" With that, the girls broke into a run towards the school.
-
For the rest of the afternoon, Kagome couldnt help but feel that something wasn't right. Drifting into her thoughts, she looked out the classroom window. There was something there she had to remember..she knew it was there, but she couldnt grasp it. "Kagome." Kagome's head snapped to the front as the teacher addressed her. "Stand and read on. Page fourty five, paragraph six."
Kagome stood, and opening her book, she found what she was supposed to be reading.
"Tokugawa Ieyasu was the most powerful man in Japan after Hideyoshi had died in 1598. Against his promises he did not respect Hideyoshi's successor Hideyori because he wanted to become the absolute ruler of Japan.
In the battle of Sekigahara in 1600, Ieyasu defeated the Hideyori loyalists and other Western rivals. Hence, he achieved almost unlimited power and wealth. In 1603, Ieyasu was appointed Shogun and established his government in Edo, which is now Tokyo. The Tokugawa shoguns continued to rule Japan for over a remarkable 250 years."
"Thank you, Kagome. You may be seated." Kagome sat down, obediantley, and stared at the words infront of her.
The battle of Sekigahara was violent, she thought, returning her gaze to the window. Why do I feel as if someone needs me? -"Kagome!" Kagome's body jerked, and her eyelids, although extremley heavy, rose, and she looked blearily through her lashes. Inuyasha was there. Thats right, she thought. Inuyasha needs me. A consistant tugging on her arms and legs, which were begining to get painful, made Kagome more aware of the fact that she was being held by a Youkai.
"She's not dead!" Sango said, pulling her katana from the sheath. Kagome groaned, and lifted her head. Inuyasha was close, his eyes blazing as he glared at the demon behind her, which held her captive. Sango was on the other side, attempting to sneak up, and Miroku was further back, preparing to use his windtunnel if anything drastic were to occur. Where was kirara? And Shippo? "Let go of me!" Kagome hissed, regaining some of her strength. "Stupid wench," the demon snarled, a repulsive odour leaked from it's lips. "Let go of me!" Kagome screamed this time. The Shikon No Tama lit up, from under her fuku blouse, and Kagome felt a cool light wash over her. The demon screamed and writhed in pain, withdrawing it's tentacles that had furled themselves around Kagomes body.
"Wind Tunnel!" Miroku yelled, pulling the prayer beads from his hand. Kagome dropped to the ground, and Inuyasha leapt beside her, grabbing her by the waist, just as a powerful wind brushed against them. Landing safely behind Miroku, Inuyasha set Kagome down. "What the hell were you thinking?" Inuyasha snapped. Kagome touched her temple, and looked up at Inuyasha wearily. "What?" Inuyasha's gaze softened and he looked back as Miroku pulled the prayer beads over his hand, closing the tunnel. "Miroku said you were going home." "I was," she said, blearily. "What happened?""I thought something was wrong, so I followed you."Kagome blinked. "And what happened?" "You were by the well, and this demon had wrapped itself around you...I.." He paused, as if unsure what to say. "You what?" she snapped, bitterly. What a bizarre dream she'd had. "I thought...it said you were dead." "That was an illusion youkai," Miroku said, running a hand through his hair. "It has the power to transfer illusions to the unconciousse mind." "That would explain it," Kagome said, rubbing her back. "Explain what?" "What I wished, had come true."
