Chapter 7 - Escapes

"Inuyasha keep a tight hold on Kagome." Ume warned.

"What can we do? We can't fight something we can't see," questioned Inuyasha.

"Who said you can't see it? I just said it doesn't physically attack."

"Woman you are not making sense." Sesshoumaru sneered.

"Don't you dare `woman' me, I've already proven I can still kick your ass, Sesshou-chan, so don't push me."

"Don't call me that!" He growled.

"You call me woman, I'll call you whatever I please. Now can we get back to the business at hand?"

"You can see this thing right?" Inuyasha asked trying to stop the fight before it truly began.

"Right."

"Then why can't we fight it?" Kagome asked.

"We just can't, it doesn't have a solid physical form."

"So what are we suppose to do?" asked Sesshoumaru annoyed.

By this time, Kagome was starting to feel the effects of the presence and Ume was shaking so bad that she could not stand. Inuyasha could not understand why his brother was not helping her. He picked up Kagome bridal style and started to approach Ume to help her also.

Sesshoumaru stared at the woman in front of him unable to move. All he could think about was the day she died all those years before. He saw the hanyou approach out of the corner of his eye and started to growl threateningly unaware he was even doing it.

"Listen, Sesshoumaru, either you help her or I'm going whether you like it or not."

That was enough to snap Sesshoumaru out of his daze. "Do whatever you wish; the filthy creature is no concern of mine."

Ume turned her face up to him with hurt in her eyes, "You don't really mean that, you can't."

"I certainly can and do mean it. You made me weak. This Sesshoumaru is not weak. I will not allow you to once again make me weak."

"Sesshoumaru we can talk about this later. Right now we need to figure out how to get out of here." Ume said as forcefully as she could.

"How do you suggest we do that?"

"I would bet my life that your father built a fail safe in. The problem is trying to figure out how to activate it. Anyone want to hazard a guess?"

"How about crossing the swords?" This from Kagome.

"That just might work. Gentlemen shall we try it?"

"Why should I do anything two ningen females suggest?" Sesshoumaru glared.

"I wonder if it will still work." Ume looked at the lord speculatively.

Sesshoumaru growled, "You wouldn't dare, wench."

"Oh, wouldn't I? Sesshou-chan down."

Said taiyoukai found himself unceremoniously planted on his ass unable to stand up again. "Let me up now, bitch."

"Only if you swear on your honor as a taiyoukai that you will help us get out of here and try anything we suggest."

"Fine, I swear on my honor. Now…"

"Give it up, boy, you cannot intimidate me and you know better to even try. But I did promise so, move."

"Let's get this farce over with."

"Dou you ever just shut up. They may be right." Inuyasha glared.

"That remains to be seen, brother dearest."

"Both of you grow up would you. Inuyasha, hold on to Kagome. Ready?"

The three crossed swords and a light engulfed them. As the light faded, they found themselves in a room the like of the brothers had never seen before. Kagome was the first to speak.

"Riona, where are we?"

"My suite at the Palace Hotel in Tokyo. Looks like the old lord has plans yet. Everyone get comfy, I need a quick shower."

"Woman you have yet to explain what is happening. You are not going anywhere until you do."

"Whatever. I was never submissive in that life, what makes you think that I would be now. Like I said I am going to take a shower, if you want to follow, be my guest, I'm not shy about my body; it doesn't pay in my line of work."

"What do you mean by that?" Sesshoumaru growled. Inuyasha looked confused and Kagome tried to stifle a giggle but was only half successful.

Riona, on the other hand, was fuming. "It means I don't always have a lot of clothes on in all the scenes I do. What do you care? You've obviously given up any claim you ever had on me, so back your possessive ass off!"

She turned, walked through a doorway then through another slamming that door after her. The brothers stood there with their jaws dropped. Kagome though went after her. Sesshoumaru snapped out of it after she got by him and into the room Ume had entered. He started after them only to be stopped by Inuyasha. "Don't you think you've done enough already. Leave her be for a while. Kagome will take care of her."
