“I'm sorry Kaede I'm taking Kagome and I'm leaving I refuse to be anywhere near this spiteful bitch do what you must with her” he stated angrily before leaving with Kagome in his arms slamming the door behind him.

“Kaede help me” Kikyo pleaded with her sister.

“I'm afraid I cannot Kikyo ye are not of this world ye don't belong here” she answered sadly as she gazed into the eyes of the woman she had once admired.

“But you helped Kagome, she too doesn't belong here, yet you helped her, why? Why would you help her?” Kikyo questioned the hatred she had for Kagome clearly radiating in her ever word.

“Kagome is a sweet child, she is pure and untainted she is truly kind hearted and even if she does not belong in our time she is one of the living and she does deserve to live. She was brought here by fate I believe her true destiny is to be with Inuyasha she has calmed his soul, he loves her and he trusts her, he isn't alone anymore, he has her and he has friends” Kaede explained to her elder sister.

“I see, she truly has changed him, that would explain why his eyes are so full of warmth when I look at him, the loneliness that I always saw whenever I looked into his eyes, it hasn't been there since he met her” she spoke sadly.

“Kagome has a powerful effect on people, her kind heart allows her to succeed where most would fail, her will is strong and her love for Inuyasha makes her stronger. Unlike ye Kikyo her powers grow from love and friendship whereas yours grew from loneliness and solitude. When ye fell in love with Inuyasha ye spiritual powers were weakened. When Naraku attacked ye in Inuyasha's form ye powers returned to their full strength because ye hated Inuyasha, ye didn't believe in him, whereas I believe that if the same thing had happened to Kagome, she would have believed in him, because that is who she is, she sees the light in the darkness, she finds a way when no one else can and she believes in the people she loves” Kaede replied.

“I know now, where I went wrong in life, and I ask that you will forgive me Kaede, I never wished for things to end up this way but they have and I cant change them. I shall leave this clay body and return to the afterlife, maybe it's not too late for me, maybe I can still be saved, maybe my soul will find true peace” she whispered softly.

“Kikyo…” Kaede called out as her sisters eyes began to close and her clay body disintegrated leaving only the red light of her tainted soul.

A tear rolled down Kaede's cheek as she watched her sisters soul dissolve away until she was completely alone in her hut her fire lighting up the darkness.
