Kagome looked up to Inuyasha in surprise at his last action.
She smiled slightly at the feeling that had swept through her.
She knew that she loved him, and was sure he loved her.
But she also knew his "duty" to Kikyo.
She had long ago decided to give him time to sort out his
feelings. She had the patience of a saint when she need
to have them. She knew in her hearts of hearts that one day
he would be able to say those words to her.
At least she hope that was so and if not then her heart would
break. With the thought of him not choosing her it made her
face fall and tears to flow freely.
Inuyasha was still realing from his last action only notice once
he smelt the tears that were now streaming down her face freely.
"Kagome what's wrong? Please don't cry.... What did I do?"
"Nothing. I'm just afraid..."
"Of what?"
"You leaving me here alone." She said while pressing her face to his
chest.
"Kagome...." He started to say but was interrupted by a cold voice.
"Well of course he'll leave you. After all he chosen me. Didn't he?"
Kikyo said coming out from behind the other side of the tree.
"How long have you been here?" Kagome said pulling back from Inuyasha.
She glared at the elder women with a hatred from deep within. She had
given Kikyo at thousands chance to show that she was after all good.
But all she could see her as was nothing but a bitter women and
one who wanted nothing but revenge.
"Umm. Does that really matter? I just came to find you...
To tell you the truth, the truth that no one else will say.
The fact is that you're nothing but substitute for me you know?
I mean now that your having MY child your really are nothing but
my substitute. You'll never be anything more than that.
And you'll never be anything to him." Kikyo spitted out her venom.
The words struck Kagome hard, but didn't let it show on her face.
Her face remained as lifeless as stone as her tongue worked sharply.
"Fuck you. Damn it all! Fuck you! I'm not your replacement!!
I'm more than you could ever fucking be!! This MY child, "it"
chose me to bare it. I love this child more than you could have
ever even conceived. I've come to realize that!! So just fuck off.
As for what I am to HIM, I don't see what it is to you! So what if I'm
nothing to him!! At least I never tried to change him.. I love him just the
way he was always!!! ALWAYS!!!! So why the hell are you telling me what I
am to him? You wouldn't know cause you don't know him!"
She spat as at Kikyo through her teeth and then turn to Inuyasha.
"Look, I have to go home. Stay with her or come with me! Whatever you choose,
I understand! Just don't expect me to forgive you! OK?" She said not and left without
even giving him a chance to say anything to her.
Inuyasha watched after her, he at the moment was seething with anger.
A new found hatred for the bitch behind had surfaces as he had listen to her
words. Everything she had said was a lie and she knew it. Kagome was so much
more than she had ever been.
"Inuyasha... Do you really want to be with that girl? I mean I thought
you wanted nothing more than to be with me and protect me?
Or is that you feel some sort of obligation towards her?"
"No... You're the one who's an obligation... Just to let you
know everything Kagome says is true.... You never knew me,
and maybe you never loved me for myself. But she does...
She truly does....."
Inuyasha turned around startled when he heard Kikyo laugh.
"What the hell are you laughing at?" He growled lowly.
"Your are so pathetic Inuyasha. Do you really think that girl loves you?
She's just looking for someone to help her with the child.
No one could ever truly love you cause your nothing more than
a worthless half-breed. You’re my puppet-on-string after all...
You'll always come back to me. Then I'll drag you to hell with me."
She said as her soul stealers lifted her off the ground and disappeared into
the sky.
"DAMN YOU" He yelled out at her.
After she had gone reality sat in. He really was her puppet.
For instead of going after Kagome like he should of, he had
let her get to him again. He had fucked up this time, badly.
"Damn." He muttered and then started into the direction Kagome
had headed.
