Chapter 10-Kikyo and revealing the past

*Outside School*

Kagome was standing behind Inuyasha, who was fuming with anger at Hojo for touching what was HIS. Yes, Kagome was Inuyashas'. She has been since that night he saved her. He claimed her as his and now he was not going to let some "boy" touch what was his.

"I suggest you leave, Hobo." Yasha said.

"Its "Hojo" and I'm not leaving without Kagome!" Hojo said proudly. He crossed his arms over his chest.

Just as Inuyasha was about to retort back, the school bell rang. It was time for first period. Hojo sighed and left.

Inuyasha turned to Kagome, who was smiling at him. What happened next shocked him.

"Thanks, Inuyasha!" Kagome cheered as she flung herself, hugging him. She had her arms around his neck. Inuyasha came out of his shock and hugged her back. His arms encircled her waist.

"Your welcome, Kagome." He whispered.

After a few minutes of hugging each other, they let go, neither wanting to, but had to. Kagome stared into his eyes as he did the same. The look in his eyes shocked her. In them, she saw love, tenderness, and the most important of all-protection.

She had a feeling that he liked protecting her. And she liked-no-LOVED the feeling of being protected. She had the same feeling when they fought Kouga and he had transformed into the demon. Even though she was very afraid, she knew in her heart that he wouldn't harm her. Those red eyes held the same as what his eyes held now.

Inuyasha looked into her eyes and saw trust, kindness, warmth, and compassion. Within his years of being a vampire/demon, he has encountered numerous vampire slayers that held no emotion and would kill without thinking. But this girl-Kagome-was different.

*Flashback*

That night, when Shippo had left, Kagome had brought him back. As he watched her fight Kouga, he could sense that she wasn't like the others. Her aura held kindness, compassion, and warmth. After he had helped her, he watched within the shadows as she looked at Shippo and talked to him.

He saw Shippo immediately like Kagome because he bounced into her arms and snuggled closer. He knew right then and there, which he wasn't in any danger with the slayer-in fact-she, was acting like a mother to him, and asking him if he was ok and all.

That's when he left to eat and return to the mansion to take a shower. As he walked, his thoughts were on Kagome and how different she was to Kikyo.

*End of Flashback*

Inuyasha cringed at the thought of Kikyo. She had only gone out with him because of his money and because it would give her a better reputation than what she already had-being the bitchy slut that slept with almost every guy at the school.

He first thought she was kind and warm, but as soon as she met the others and especially Shippo, her true self was revealed. Her cold and emotionless attitude towards the group made him see what a bitch she was.

At first, he thought it was he, but one night, when he came home from his feeding, the sight before him, shocked him. He shivered at the horrible memory and that's what made him realize everything.

*Flashback*

As he walked in from feasting, he saw his friends fighting Kikyo, who held a knife to Shippos' throat. She held the frighten kitsune in a death-lock. He was struggling to get out. Sango was in her werewolf form. She was slightly built, with fur as black as midnight. Her eyes were cold and emotionless towards Kikyo.

Her claws were extended and she was growling at Kikyo. She had a lot of cuts and bruises on herself. She was panting hard. She didn't do anything. She didn't want Shippo harmed. He had small cuts and bruises on his body. Kikyo's eyes were cold and he saw nothing in them.

Miroku was a werewolf too. He was slightly bigger that Sango. His fur was black and his usual warm and kind violet eyes were now cold and as emotionless as Sango's. He also had the same number of cuts and bruises as Sango. He was also panting as hard.

The house was a complete mess. Chairs and the furniture were either torn or broken.

"Back the fuck off or I'll slit this fucks' throat!" Kikyo yelled as she raised the dagger she had in her hand closer to Shippos' throat. The blade made contact with his throat and he whimpered from the small cut that appeared.

Inuyasha growled.

"Let Shippo go, Kikyo!"

All four eyes looked upon him. Kikyo smiled "sweetly" at him, but Inuyasha saw through it. (EWWW!! Yuck! Smiling "sweetly" at him. Yeah right! Oops! I'll shut up now!)

"Inuyasha, darling! What are you doing home soon?" she asked. He ignored her.

"I said let Shippo go, you bitch!" he yelled, closing in on her. Kikyo saw that he wasn't falling for her "sweet talk" routine anymore. Instead, she saw anger, betrayal, frustration, and hatred in his beautiful amber eyes and they were all pointed to her.

His eyes slightly turned red at his "family" being harmed. Since his parents died, his brother, Sesshoumaru, didn't want anything to do with him, so he split the money between he and Inuyasha. After years of being on his own and now in high school, with no friends, that's when he met the others.

They were like him. Their families murdered by Naraku. So they decided to be a "family". Shippo was the youngest, so he looked to Inuyasha like a father and Sango and Miroku like an aunt and uncle.

Inuyasha felt proud of being a "father" to Shippo. Since he met him, Shippo was like a son to him.

Now, his "son" was in danger from his "girlfriend" and the demon in him screams to be released. The demon knew who his friends and enemies were and never harmed them. He knew Kikyo poised a threat to his family and he as ready to harm those who would.

He welcomed the demon and that's when all hell broke loose.

After a few hours, Inuyasha came around with the other hovering over him. Concern and relief radiated off of them.

"What… what happened?" Inuyasha said.

"You turned demon again. He went after Kikyo since she poised the most threat to him. He thrashed at her and when he was about to kill her, but Sango stopped him and told him if he'd kill her now you'd get into trouble."

*End of Flashback*

After he saw this, he broke up with her. (Kikyo's a human. Don't worry, Kikyo-haters! Kikyo will get what she deserves later on!)

Since then, she has been trying to get back with him, but he always shoves her away from him and his "family".

He looked at Kagome and saw her looking back.

"What is it, Inuyasha? Are you ok?" Her voice was tender and sounded angelic. It was music to his ears.

"Yeah. I'm just thinking about the past." He answered.

Kagome saw the pain in his eyes and wanted to comfort him. And that's exactly what she did. Inuyasha was so busy thinking of his past, that he was very surprised to feel Kagome wrap her arms around his waist and her head on his chest. He came out of the shock and hugged back. He laid his head on top of hers.

"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked, wanting to know more about him.

"No. Not yet. I'm not ready." was his reply. Kagome looked right into his eyes and nodded. She then gently took his left cheek into her hand.

"You can tell me when you're ready. I won't force you to tell me." She smiled warmly. Inuyasha smiled back and kissed her on the cheek. They then stared at each other for what it seemed like an eternity. Their faces then slowly descended upon each other. Just as their lips touched…

"INUYASHA-BUN!" shrieked a voice.

They both jerked back, a blush appearing upon their faces. Inuyasha then felt arms encircle his neck, choking him.

"You bitch! Let go!!!" Yasha yelled. Kikyo let go and looked at Kagome.

"Who's the tramp, sweetie?"

Both Yasha and Kagome's faces reddened with anger. Yasha was angry with her for calling Kagome a "tramp" and Kagome was the same.

Before Kagome could say anything, Inuyasha beat her to it.

"DON'T CALL KAGOME A "TRAMP", YOU WHORE!!!!" Yasha yelled. He then pushed Kikyo away from them.

Kikyo ignored him. She then tried again. This time, she reached out to touch him, but….

SLAP!

Everyone gasped. Kikyo was on the ground, bleeding. Kagome had slapped Kikyo on the cheek, making her bleed.

"Never touch Inuyasha again, you bitch!!" she yelled.

Kikyo was stunned. Here, this supposed girl who was shy and unpopular, dared to hit her!

Kikyo got up and dusted herself. As she walked on, she looked back at Inuyasha and Kagome.

"Just wait, Inuyasha. You WILL be mine. And I'd watch my back if I were, Kagome." And she left.
