Just to remind you, (Thanks to Catty, Catherine!) Vampires who are half human CAN be in the daylight without being burnt or dust, but they can still be harmed. Crosses, stakes, garlic, and holy water can harm them. It's the full-fledged vamps that CAN'T be in the daylight.

Chapter 16

Naraku

*Inuyasha and Kagome*

After the incident with Kikyo, Inuyasha stayed very close to Kagome. As they walked to their class, they saw Naraku walking up to them. Inuyasha growled and stood protectively in front of Kagome. "What do you want, Naraku?" Inuyasha growled. Naraku ignored Inuyasha and stared at Kagome. "I'd thought you and I could talk, Kagome." As Naraku stepped closer to her, he was shoved away from her. Inuyasha grabbed his throat and dangled him 5 feet in the air.

His eyes were red and he had to fight the demon within from emerging. "DON'T YOU DARE COME NEAR HER, YOU BASTARD! SHE'S MINE!!!" Inuyasha roared and threw Naraku away. He slid 10 feet on the floor. He hit the wall really hard so he sent to the nurse's office. (Way to go!) Kagome could hear Inuyasha panting so she wrapped her arms around him and he instantly calmed down.

After a few moments, they left for classes.

*History*

As soon as they entered, they stopped in their tracks. There, sitting a few feet away was Kikyo, her groupies, and Kouga! But, the thing that surprised them the most was Miroku and Sango! They went and sat with them. "What are you guys doing here?" Kagome asked. "Well….since Inuyasha registered for school, I'd thought Miroku and I would too." Sango replied.

As they talked, Kikyo came walking up to them. "Hey, Inu-chan." She purred. Everyone looked at her with disgust, especially Kagome and Inuyasha. Kagome growled as Kikyo sat in his lap. Inuyasha looked like he was about to push her off, when he felt the extra weight not on him any longer. He looked to see Kikyo on the floor with a black eye and Kagome hovering over her with her right hand balled into a fist.

"You leave my mate alone, you slut! Have you been deaf and blind!? He's told you to stay away from him and me!" she was breathing heavily. "If I ever see you near him again, I won't hesitate to kill you!" She was breathing so hard that Inuyasha picked up her rapid beating heart.

He had to calm her down or otherwise she'd faint and might loose their child. He quickly and gently sat Kagome in his lap and rocked her back and forth. He also whispered soothing words to her, which was doing a good job. As he did this, he heard her breathing evening out and her heart rate returning back to normal. He kissed the top of her head.

"You need to stay calm, Kagome. If you don't, you'll loose our child. And I don't want to loose you or him/her." Kagome heard him and sighed deeply. She snuggled closer to Inuyasha. He gently tightened his grip on her. By then, Kikyo was in her seat, angered by the sight before her.

Kouga was also very angry. He could smell Inuyasha's scent all over Kagome and in her scent. He saw the claim mark on her neck and he could hear the faintest sound of either a heartbeat or two. He knew she was pregnant with Inuyasha's child. He would get revenge on Inuyasha for stealing HIS woman. Even though Kagome was Inuyasha's mate, he didn't care about the youkia law.

It stated: That when a male youkia takes a mate and if that female has more than one suitor, they'll fight until one has claimed defeat. When the victor mates with female, no other male youkia can claim her as his. He would kill Inuyasha and make Kagome HIS! "To hell with the youkia law! Kagome's MINE and no one else's!" Kouga thought with an evil smile. (Is he stupid or what!?)

As soon as the teacher came in, class started. During that period, Kagome had been getting looks from Kouga. He would send her the sexiest smile he could come up with (Retch!) and winked at her. She gave him the bird and ignored him. Inuyasha saw this and growled, but when he saw Kagome flick Kouga off, he smirked victoriously. He kissed Kagome on the lips, which she gladly gave back. Inuyasha heard Kouga growling and smiled in the kiss. They soon broke apart because they didn't want to get into trouble with the teacher.

*Lunch*

It was now lunchtime and Kagome was just getting her lunch. Inuyasha had insisted he'd stay with her, but she told him she'd be fine. So he went to join the others. Neither knew that it was a mistake.
