She couldn't believe he had this effect on her. One word spoken in his smooth voice made her feel electricity roam her body. She didn't even know this guy!

Sesshoumaru smirked, he could hear her hearbeat quicken, could hear how it pounded in her chest. He had never really enjoyed making women fall to his feet, but with her he loved it. It was like a sadistic pleasure.

Then he heard her voice again, melting his thoughts.

"We are supposed to dance, you know." She said struggling to hide her embarassment.

Smirking even wider he began to move his body and hers as well to the light music which echoed through the club.

Again he went to her ear whispering.

"So we are."

That's it ! I have to change the fucking subject! Franticly she looked for something to say until she found the right thing, something that interested her as well.

"Why aren't you dancing with your wife or Rin's nanny for that matter?"

Smart.Very smart. Should I satisfy her curiosity or let her look for the answer a little more?

"You already know the answer to your first assumption, but I really don't get what Rin's nanny has to do with this.Please clear it up to me."

Yes he's not married!Wait, why is this making me happy?

Just then Sesshoumaru's telephone began to ring.

Moving to take out the telephone he had to let his dance -partner out of his arms.

Suddenly Hojo appeared beside them wanting to take Kagome's hand when Sesshoumaru took it instead sending a deadly glare to Hojo.He ,out of pure sanity, backed off.

With Kagome's hand still in his he went to his private table and listened to the speaker on the other end.

Kagome couldn't make out much, but she could hear that Rin's name was also mentioned.

This brought her back to reality.

When Rin had told her about her father she had automaticly assumed he was one of those stressed parents, but this man had every aspect of a notorious player.

How could she have been this blind, and how else could he get such reactions from her body?

She turned to leave but was instantly yanked back by Sesshoumaru who had now ended his conversation.

"You wanted to leave." He stated quietly. Equally she replied.

"Yes I did."

"Why ?" he asked now facing her.

" The truth?" at his almost imperceptable nod she continued. " I remembered something Rin told me, something which made want to leave."

Lifting one of his delicate eyebrows he asked: "And what is that?"

Kagome was fuming and Sesshoumaru could now fully see a purple energy surrounding her. A miko, how interesting.

" She told me she felt that you were going to replace her with her nanny, which I assured her was wrong and that you were only a little bit ocupied with work. But seeing and meeting you here as you have formulated yourself, brings me to the conclusion you don't have that much work after all, and that you are just ignoring your own child.That is enough to make me want to leave."

Again she wanted to turn around but this time an iron hold was on her.She had dared to insult him. Him the lord of the Western lands. Strangely though his first impulse was not to punish her but to prove her wrong.

"Come with me." He ordered icely.

Kagome glared at him and anger flared in her eyes, while she responded through gritted teeth.

" I am certainly not." Suddenly she was pushed to his chest only inches away from his face. His lips. His skin.

His eyes.

"Yes you are." He demanded gentlier.

Kagome could only nod. Like she said, the man could get away with everything. She knew he tricked her by his proximity, but beeing so near to him made her forget her anger.

Sesshoumaru took them to his car and they drove off to his house.

Kagome gasped, this mansion was beautiful, especially in the moonlight. It was white while the day, because now it had a warm blueish glow. It had at least two floors, and was really wide. A big wooden door at the top of white marble stairs was the entrance.

Kagome and Sesshoumaru got in and were instantly met by a rather old looking man.

"This is Kagome , Henji, please prepare a room for her. I will see to Rin and Saya immediatly." Sesshoumaru told the old man who disappeard just as he came, into thin air.

" What do you mean by room?" Kagome asked Sesshoumaru, a little bit sleepy. Sesshoumaru turned to her and looked her over. She is beautiful even when she's tired.

Slowly he walked to her and caressed her cheek with the back of his hand . She leaned into this warm and soft touch, forgetting for a moment she was mad at him.

Instantly she straightened up and glared at him, her eyes wanting an answer.

" It's too late to drive you home, although you can call there , saying you're staying with a friend."

Kagome glared at him again and was about to respond when a door was suddenly heard slam and a crying Rin came running down the hall.

The minute she saw Kagome, she instantly ran towards her right into her waiting arms.Kagome hugged Rin to her and ran her hands down her back trying to give her comfort.

"Shh, it's OK, whatever happened we're her now. Nothing is going to hurt you."

Rin only continued to cry, hugging Kagome even tighter, and burrying her head in the crock of her neck.

Then suddenly a young woman with brown-red hair came running in, but stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Sesshoumaru stand beside two hugging persons. She could tell one was Rin but the other she didn't know.

"What happened ?" Sesshoumaru asked in a deadly low voice.

Saya only gulped until she decided to answer.

"Rin had a nightmare, and wouldn't stop crying so I comforted her." She lied. Unfortunetly for her, because to youkai a lie was never hidden.

In the meantime Kagome had brought Rin's head up so she could look at her. Her eyes were red and swollen from all the crying and her face was flushed but she could still make out a handmark on her face.

Hugging Rin to her again she went to Sesshoumaru's side who instantly looked at her. Kagome got in front of him and motioned for him to lean down, which he did.Then she told him.

"She hit Rin." Sesshoumaru's eyes went red for a millisecond but then he calmed seeing Rin was Ok in Kagome's arms.

"Go to her room and make her sleep, she's tired."he whispered back.Kagome nodded and followed his eyes towards the door where Henji was already expecting her, so he could lead her .

Who was that woman and why did she only whisper to her Sesshoumaru?

She was interrupted by her musings though when a cold voice echoed through the hall.

"You are dismissed. Go and pack. Henji will give you your check." With that Sesshoumaru turned to leave, his iron control almost slipping when he heard her crying voice.

"But, you can't..."

"I can whatever I want." He answered .

"This , this is only that woman, that bitch put venom in your head..."she cried, but didn't get to finish because she was pinned to the wall.

"You will never refer to her or my daughter in any disrespectful language. You are very lucky that `woman` is here because if not your life would have truly been endangered." He said in his low voice, never waiting for the response, but rushing out of the room to Rin's .

"Shh, everything is fine ." Kagome whispered, wanting to get up and tuck Rin in, after her crying had stopped.

"Please sleep here, only for a little while. Please." The little girl pleaded.

Sighing Kagome lay down beside her, hugging her and mentioning to herself she would only stay for a little while.

This was exactly how Sesshoumaru found the two. Rin was sleeping happily in Kagome's arms, and Kagome lying on the bed with a serene look.

Sighing Sesshoumaru closed the door and left for his room.

Now he needed a new nanny, and this time he would make sure she wasn't a child abuser.

Who would he choose?
