Author's note: Sorry everybody, my muse totally left me for a while back there, and it's taken me a long time to figure out what I want to put through the gang and if I want somebody to die… but who knows.

After the Battle

Chapter 3

~* Wishing leads to trouble *~

 

Kagome woke up to the steady beating of Inuyasha's heart. She glanced up warily if she would cause any disturbance to wake him up, the last thing she remembered was that she was on her futon and was asleep when she felt that somebody picked her up and she felt like she was flying over everything.

 

Inuyasha looked down to where the miko was sitting.

 

“Good morning, how was sleep?” Inuyasha directed to her. Like always he was awake before her and she couldn't as easily get away from him.

 

“Weird, I felt like everybody was leaving and I was alone. I don't know, but it felt like it was gonna happen to all of us. I don't know.” Kagome tried to reason with herself trying to figure out if it was a nightmare. She definitely didn't want it too be real.

 

As she rubbed the sleep from her eyes, reality dawned on her. She reminisced about the fight with Naraku, the jewel… THE JEWEL.

 

“Hey Inuyasha do you know what happened with the Shikon no tama?” Inuyasha cringed; he knew she'd ask about it sooner or later. He just hoped it wouldn't have been this early.

 

“Umm, well…” He paused; he didn't want to come off soft because he cried thinking that she died back in the battle with Naraku.

 

“Thejewelwasglowingandiwantedyoutocomebackanditjust…. Poof!” Inuyasha slammed out for her to hear.

 

“Inuyasha! You didn't?! You did didn't you, now I can't get back to my era. Osuwari!” Kagome yelled at him. She couldn't believe it, she was stuck in this era. She couldn't go back home and have a nice hot bath, or sleep luxuriously on her bed.. She wanted to cry.

 

Inuyasha pulled himself out of the crater that he made himself. He walked over to the crying miko and just stared at her, he didn't know what to do. He definitely wanted the tears to stop. He grabbed both her arms and forced her into his arms. This only caused more tears to come.

 

“Please just stop Kagome.” Inuyasha didn't have any idea of what to do. Sure he remembered what he wished for, but not fully understood what he did. Her scent did alter a little bit, but not much. `What should I tell her? The truth, or what I presume to happen.' Of course he worried about her, but he also had to worry about the new moon tonight. He would be turning human at sunset and that thought always displeased him. He held onto Kagome longer than he intended. He released her to see that the tears had left her face flushed and eyes that were glazed over. Getting to his feet, Inuyasha walked with his arm encircling Kagome's waist. He came to the riverbank and saw the monk and the taijiya gathering water for them to drink. Inuyasha sat Kagome on the bank allowing her time to get herself cleaned up. He walked over to the monk and leaned down.

 

“Keep a close eye on Kagome for me. I need to do something really quick.” Inuyasha sprinted off into the woods and sniffed the air for the scent of his brother. Within a few hours, Sesshomarou's scent hit his nose. He knew his brother was around here somewhere.

 

“Hanyou, what did you want with this Sesshomarou that you tracked me down.” Sesshomarou walked into the clearing followed by Rin and Jaken.

 

“Inuyasha-sama, hello!” Rin said cheerfully.

 

“Hello Rin, Sesshomarou I need some answers about the Shikon no Tama. Is it possible, that if somebody made a wish on the jewel to make someone live longer? And if it is possible what could be the outcome?” Inuyasha asked cautiously.

 

“Of course it's possible it's the Shikon no Tama. Let me guess, Kagome was attacked and you wished that she would live longer with you. If the jewel was near it probably heard you and since it isn't a dark wish, it was granted. The outcome, this Sesshomarou doesn't know what the possible outcome would be. Be aware though of all of your surroundings, even tonight Inuyasha.”

 

Sesshomarou and his followers disappeared on him. The scent immediately changed it didn't seem as if his brother was here at all. He headed back to the village now. When he arrived the sun was about to set, and he felt his speed decrease and his nose wasn't as sensitive as before. His human side was already coming out? He still had an hour before the sun set though. This wasn't good. As he got nearer to Kaede's hut, he heard a shrill scream, he identified as Kagome's. This definitely wasn't good.

 

As he entered to hut, what he saw before his eyes shocked him. Kagome now had dark blue hair with black low-lights. Her eyes were now the color of an ocean. He saw two ears appear on top of her head, and he saw the beginnings of a halo ring on her forehead. He caught her eyesight and walked toward her, while the others cowered in a corner.

 

“Inuyasha, what's happening to me? Why am I like this? Is this what you wished for?” Kagome almost screamed. Inuyasha noticed her nails growing a rapid rate. He ran over to her to try to calm her down, his black hair catching her eyesight.

 

“Why have you turned human already, it's still light out.” Kagome weakly commented to him.

 

“Kagome, please listen to me, I didn't mean to do this. During the battle with Naraku you hit your head and died. I felt like I was all alone. You were my first true friend. I didn't want you to die. All I remember is that I wanted you to sit me one more time. And the next thing I knew was that the jewel was missing and Miroku and Sango ran over to you. I wanted you to live forever by my side. I am sorry about this consequence that has been put on you.” Inuyasha explained fully.

 

Everybody in the hut was silent because of what Inuyasha said. Inuyasha was afraid of what would've happened when everything came to an end. Inuyasha just didn't want to be alone by himself anymore and he learned all of it from the one girl that transcended time to rescue him only two years ago.

Author's Note: Yeah another author's note. I am so stupid for not continuing this story. It has a really good plot that I have a lot in store for the Inuyasha gang to encounter. With all this typed, I am glad to say I am stopping my other story Lies In Between because I'm not getting enough reviews for me to continue and I am simply out of ideas for it. I don't think I'm that good at typing those AU type of stories. Please REVIEW! I want everybody's opinion…

 

Inuyasha: Ah, cut the shit, you really think anybody's going to review this type of story.. Dream On….
