Author's Note: I know that this story isn't near complete, and I'm sorry about the prolonged wait for the next chapter, it's been brought to my attention by my friend Amanda, aka vengeful_vixen8613, that if I don't finish this story, my life might be cut short. So I quitting this long author's note and present to you the fourth chapter that everybody has been waiting for.

“Inuyasha, what the hell have you done to me?” Kagome murmured through tears.

“Kagome, I didn't mean to. It wasn't what I wanted.” Inuyasha acknowledged.

What you wanted?! It's all about what you want isn't it, Inuyasha? Can't be about anybody else, can it? You know what, I've had enough.” Kagome bit out, storming out of the hut.

“Well, that wasn't expected.” Miroku chipped in.

“Unusual, it is. Inuyasha, may I ask what you exactly voiced when you saw Kagome about to die?” Kaede solicited.

“Umm, I not exactly sure myself, all I remember is that Kagome was about to leave me, when she promised she'd be by my side forever. I didn't want her to go. I wanted her to live together with me.” Inuyasha murmured. “I didn't expect the jewel to do that weird glowy thing.”

“Maybe I should follow Kagome; we don't want her to hurt herself.” Sango voiced.

“You think she'd do that.” Inuyasha murmured again in disbelief.

“We're not sure of anything that might occur yet.” Miroku added.

“The monk does have a point. Kagome, well I'm not quite sure what might happen. We'll have to keep a close eye on her for the night.” Kaede stated simply.

Kagome
~*~*~*~*~*~

“Why the hell did Inuyasha do this to me? All I wanted was to live a normal life. And thanks to him I can't live a normal life even if I wanted to now.” Kagome cried in anger as she ran to nowhere in particular. As she neared the God Tree, she turned abruptly and ran in another direction.

Sango couldn't keep up the momentum of drive that the hanyou Kagome had created. Falling behind, slowly, Sango yelled to warn the new hanyou of the presence of a youkai coming in her direction.

“Kagome, watch out. Someone's coming.” Sango warned just as a blur of somebody came into the area. Kagome stopped where she was.

“What do you want, wolf?” Kagome asked.

“Kagome, what hell happened to you? What did that mutt do?” Kouga screamed, circling her and smelling at everything.

“What are you doing? Were you a vulture in another life?” Kagome barked out.

“What the hell happened, Kagome?” Kouga asked unaware of the scent of Inuyasha sneaking up on him. Kagome smirked, knowing something that he didn't.

“What are you smirking about?”

“Just about time, Inuyasha, I was wondering when you were going to show up.” Kagome said without emotion.

Out of nowhere, Inuyasha rammed Kouga into a tree. Pushing him deeper into the bark, Inuyasha forced his leg into Kouga's back, hearing the crunch of bones, he smirked. Releasing his hold on the wolf ookami, Kouga fell to the side of the tree, trying to stand on his own created pain to shoot through his legs.

“Damn mutt. I'm going to kill you!” Kouga yelled.

“I don't think so, knowing that you can't even stand on your own. I should leave you here to rot.” Inuyasha looked over to Kagome, seeing a questioning look caused Inuyasha to back down from continuing the fight with Kouga.

“This isn't the last time that I'm going to kick your ass, Kouga. If you come near her, I'm going to cause you more pain than you can imagine.” Inuyasha threatened. Leaving the wolf demon beside the tree, he walked toward Kagome. He tossed her over his shoulder and ran through the woods, till he arrived back at Goshinboku.

“You stupid wench, you shouldn't run away from me.” Inuyasha accused sounding hurt, knowing he was the reason she left in the first place. What have I done? Inuyasha reflected. I didn't know this would happen. I didn't want Kagome to be…. Inuyasha broke away, not wanting to go where that thought would lead. Looking down at the now asleep Kagome, he cracked a smile.

Author's Note: Again, I'm sorry for the prolonged wait of this chapter, I didn't expect anyone to review but when amgoodpasture reviewed me and my friend Amanda read this story, both of them are anxiously waiting for this chapter.
Thank you again for reviewing my story, it's made my year. I haven't gotten much of reviews since people just read and then leave.

Blanket Disclaimer: I will add this to every chapter of After the Battle, I do not own Inuyasha, though I do own him in my dreams. I appreciate all that Rumiko Takahashi has presented me with.
