Chapter 5

Meeting

 

With the rising of the sun, came two different transformations. One, being that a hanyou was turning back to human form, the other well, a human turning hanyou. Contradicting each other, Inuyasha awoke to heightened senses. The sound of approaching footsteps aroused the hanyou from slumber. Murmuring incoherently, Inuyasha looked down at the perverse taijiya, scowling.

 

“What do you want, she's still sleeping?” Inuyasha quietly barked to the intruder.

 

“Inuyasha, Kaede wants to speak with you and Kagome once she's awake. I presume you already know your brother is approaching the village.” Sango retorted.

 

Inuyasha lifted his nose and sniffed the air. He caught Sesshomarou's scent and wrinkled his nose in disgust. Ugh, why now? Inuyasha thought to himself. Of all the times he has to come, why the fuck now? Inuyasha gathered Kagome in his arms and landed softly on the earth floor. Picking up speed, Inuyasha reached Kaede's hut in no time. He pushed aside the cloth hanging against the door frame, and situated Kagome onto her sleeping futon… Inuyasha leaned against the side of the hut, situating Tetsusaiga across his lap.

 

“Alright, what did you want, old hag?” Inuyasha asked, drumming his fingers on his knee, to keep him busy.

 

“What happened when you and Sango left to get Kagome? I felt two shards approach the village, I presume Kouga now knows what's happened.” Kaede questioned him.

 

“Feh! Yeah, that wolf came, I nearly beat the shit out of him, if Kagome hadn't interrupted us.” Inuyasha bit out.

 

“What do you mean Inuyasha?” Miroku interjected.

 

“I mean, if Kagome wasn't giving me a confused look, I would have killed him on the spot. I think I broke a few ribs of his, and damaged his legs. Though he can probably walk now, stupid shards.” Inuyasha added through his teeth.

 

“Lady Kaede, do you think that with Kagome transforming into a hanyou, she possesses new fighting techniques and skills we might not know of?” Miroku questioned the old miko.

 

“It's possible, though Inuyasha would have to help Kagome learn them, it'd be better for the two of them to assist each other. Inuyasha, one thing I do have to say is that your brother or your self should add her to your clan. It'd be safer that way.” Kaede surmised.

 

Inuyasha looked baffled. Add her to our clan? How is that possible, don't you have to mate in order to add her to some clan? Inuyasha looked skeptical about what to do in this situation. Yea, he knew about the dangers that one had to endure for not belonging anywhere. But did he intend to make her this way just so he could mate her? Nah! Inuyasha fought his demons inside his mind.

 

Inuyasha, keeping his thoughts to himself, sensed Sesshomarou coming nearer to the village. He leapt onto his feet and exited the hut and made his way to the edge of his forest.

 

“What do you want?” Inuyasha barked.

 

“Why, Inuyasha is that anyway to greet your half-brother? What I want has to do with a girl, perhaps you know her?” Sesshomarou snapped.

 

“What do you want Kagome for? I thought that you thought that humans are beneath you.” Inuyasha bit.

 

“Whatever, you said doesn't make sense to this Sesshomarou. All I need to know is that if you're going to mate with that human whelp to keep her out of harms way.”

 

“I'm not certain yet. I need to know how she'll react to the inquisition.”

 

“Well, if you do eventually mate her. I am going to say that you need to be at the manor, or else, she'll be questioning herself.” And with that said, the tai-youkai left in the air.

 

Inuyasha stood rooted to the spot. At the manor? Does he mean, that… No that's not possible. Is it? Inuyasha's inner demons instigated another battle.

 

Finding his way back to the hut, he laid down beside the sleeping girl. Wrapping an arm around her wait, he drifted to slumber-land, thinking Will she want to mate with me?
