After the Battle

Chapter 7

~Belongs to Me~

 

 

Inuyasha walked through the forest, heading in the direction of Kaede's hut. But something caught his eye, leaning down to pick up the trinket, Inuyasha inspected it. The sun's rays beaming off it, making it look ethereal. Inuyasha put the item in question in his pocket, Maybe I should get Miroku or that old hag to look at it. Sprinting towards the smoke coming from the hut, indicated that Kaede or somebody was cooking. Finally, I am so fuckin starved. Inuyasha pushed aside the cloth and shoved the trinket in Miroku's hand, before going to his usual corner.

 

“What's this Inuyasha?” Miroku prodded.

 

“I don't know, I found it close to where we battled that demon. The remains weren't there when I went searching.” Inuyasha commented as Miroku inspected the gem. Or so they would call it.

 

“Where are the girls and that runt?” Inuyasha grunted.

 

“I believe that they went to the springs the bathe. They didn't say anything to me, but I saw Kagome grab some of that stuff that she uses whenever she bathes.” Miroku replied.

 

Inuyasha raised to his feet, and was about to leave the hut, when a strong scent hit his nose. Damn it. Why does she have to come at the most inopportune time? Inuyasha questioned himself.

 

“Hey, monk, if the girls come back make sure that Kagome stays here. I have something to take care of.” Inuyasha uttered as he exited the hut.

At the Springs

“Kagome, you might want to tell Inuyasha how you feel. So you guys can get over this hurdle. Now that Naraku is gone, you guys should be okay.” Sango commented.

 

“Sango, you don't understand, there's still one more obstacle…. Okay maybe two obstacles that Inuyasha has to come over. One, is Kikyo. And the other, is that he has to tell me how he feels. I am old-fashioned; I wait for the guy to make a move.” Kagome listed off.

 

“Umm, Kagome I don't know if I should tell you this, but Kikyo's around somewhere. Don't you feel her aura?” Shippo chided in.

 

“Now that you mention it, I do.” Kagome stated, as she climbed out of the springs and slipped into her clothes going in the direction of Kikyo's Shinidamachu. Approaching the ex-miko she caught herself, hearing Kikyo singing.

“Is that the way she feels?” Kagome asked herself. What the hell, why was Kikyo singing. Kagome walked forward making herself known.

 

“What do you want?” Kikyo asked her reincarnation.

 

“I want to talk.”

 

“Well, talk. I'm waiting for Inuyasha to come. He always does.” Kikyo smirked knowing that hit the girl where it hurt the most. The heart. She did have one at one point of time.

 

“Why are doing this to him? Why are you making him go to hell with you, he avenged your death didn't he?” Kagome tried to reason.

 

“Inuyasha promised me that he would stay by my side through time. He should be kept to his word.” Kikyo stated with ease.

 

“That doesn't mean diddley-squat. He promised you a lot of things, that you didn't hold him too, this shouldn't be any different.”

 

“This is different, because even if I'm living off half of your soul, it means so much more, you don't know how I felt about Inuyasha.”

 

“Felt, is the key word, Kikyo. You are part of his past and he needs to move forward, how can I tell you this?”

 

 

You need to give it up.

Plus I can't see how he could

“What the hell is going on?” Inuyasha muttered to himself. Kikyo and Kagome are singing together!? Inuyasha sprinted the rest of the way to heard the ending verse. What the hell are they singing? Are they… Are they singing about me?

Author's Note: Sorry, I've had a hectic week, and I didn't forget this story, so I am definitely finishing this story, it's getting too good for me not to finish it. I'm going to an anime convention in January and I'm making a Sailor Mercury costume. So, for the delayed time period, I put two songs in this chapter, for your pleasure.
