Inu Yasha and Kagome were silently walking back to the village hand in hand. “So, do you think we should tell Miroku and Sango?” Kagome asked. “Feh,” Inu Yasha said, “they'll figure it out sooner or later.” “I guess so.” Kagome said. “Besides, you don't want that lecher Miroku trying to make wise cracks all night, do ya?” Inu Yasha said. “Heh, I suppose not” Kagome giggled, picturing the half-demon hitting the monk repeatedly on the head.

 

They made it back to Kaede's hut just in time for dinner. “Hey, what're we having to eat ya old hag? I'm starving!” Inu Yasha said. “Inu Yasha!” Kagome said, “talk nicely to her! We'd be sleeping outside with no supper right now if it wasn't for Kaede!” she said sternly to Inu Yasha. “Feh” was all Inu Yasha said, and went and sat over in the corner.

 

After all that got over, Kaede said, “We are having stew, if ye really wanted to know that badly.”

“Mmm” Sango and Kagome said together, “We haven't had that in a long time!”

 

When they were done eating, they prepared for bed. “I'm going on a walk” Inu Yasha said. “I'll be back soon.”

Inu Yasha stepped outside. “Just as I thought, Kikyo's here.” Inu Yasha thought staring at the soul catchers soaring above the trees of the forest. “I need to tell her I can't see her like this anymore.”

Inu Yasha walked into the forest, following the scent of graveyard dirt. He came to a clearing in the forest to see that Kikyo was standing in the middle of it. “Kikyo, what do you want? I need to talk to you” Inu Yasha stated. “You told that mortal girl you love her, did you not?” Kikyo said, moving closer to Inu Yasha. “So what if I did, you don't care. You only want me to go to hell with you.” Inu Yasha said, as Kikyo inched closer still.

“That damn reincarnation of mine” Kikyo thought. Inu Yasha won't go to hell with me if she's still around. She thought quickly, trying to think of something convincing to say.

“I thought you loved me Inu Yasha.” She said, as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

 

 

Kagome couldn't fall asleep. Not knowing that Inu Yasha wasn't there. She went outside, and looked around. She walked into the forest, until she saw Inu Yasha and Kikyo. She saw them looking at each other, and Kikyo wrapped her arms around Inu Yasha. “I thought you loved me Inu Yasha” she said, and kissed him.

Kagome gasped, and tears started to fill her eyes. Her heart was breaking, how could he do this? He told me he loved me!” she thought, as she backed up and ran away. Trying to get away as fast as she could, she ran to the Bone Eater's Well, and jumped in.

 

Inu Yasha heard something rustle in the trees, just as Kikyo kissed him. “Damn it, that was probably Kagome” he thought, and pushed Kikyo away.

“What do you think you're doing?!” he yelled. “Nothing” she said innocently. “You knew Kagome was there!! Kikyo, the only reason I came here tonight was to tell you I can't see you anymore. Yes, I told Kagome I loved her over you, because I do. You're dead Kikyo, and you shouldn't be here at all.” He said. “What about your promise?” she said in a dangerously low voice. “I promised I would protect you and avenge your death, nothing more, nothing less. Now I'm leaving to go find Kagome and try to explain why I was really here.” Inu Yasha said. As he ran off, Kikyo said, “You'll pay for this”
