Chapter 4 - Alone by Sesshou-chan Lover

AN: Ok, I'll try to make this one short since you readers are probably annoyed by all the author notes. Ok, I'll shut up right now and continue on with the story! (please review! But 21 reviews is good for 3 chapters, right?)

ok there goes the short author note but I'M CONFUSED! should I continue Crush? Or should I not? I need advice!! (oh, ya, if people want to give me advice on stories, feel free!) Anyways, I won't keep you waiting much longer and congratulations to the people who actually read this!

~*Last time*~

"Sorry, but we are in a rush now, we must go, but thanks again for helping Rin! I'm Mr. Takimoto, but we really must be going. Ja!" They all said their farewells, and the group parted. Kagome thought she had seen Sesshoumaru blush when Rin hugged him, but thought better of it. I mean, who wouldn't? The couple walked on silently, still lost in their thoughts…

~*Back to story*~

The couple was still walking silently in the now dark park when a flash of light could be seen, and a loud *BOOM* could be heard in the distance. At the noise, Kagome jumped, whimpered, and clung to Sesshoumaru's arm. Sesshoumaru looked calm, as usual, but his eyes betrayed him - they held a little worry for Kagome. It started raining in a light mist. Another loud rumble could be heard, and Kagome clung even tighter.

"Kagome, what's wrong? You're cutting off the circulation to my arm." Sesshoumaru said. Kagome quickly let go of his hand, too scared to be embarrassed, and whimpered when there was another loud rumble. Just as there was another flash, Kagome thought back to the fateful day.

~*Flashback*~

Kagome - Age 5

The lightning and thunder rumbled in the distance. Little Kagome wandered aimlessly in the forest she was lost in. It had been a bright afternoon, and Kagome had sneaked off in the forest next to the shrine, wanting to have some fun. But as the thunder rumbled, Kagome grew scared. She kept walking, and walking in one direction, hoping to find some help.

Kagome sniffed. "Mama? Where are you?" She froze when she heard a growl.

"So you don't call for your father? After all the cheating whore did, you still like HER BETTER?!" Mr. Suzuki said. Kagome almost wrinkled her nose. Her father, even though he had been acting weirdly lately, looked like he was soaked from the pouring rain. Except he was drenched in red. Also, his breath held big hints about alcohol, and the man was steadying himself on tree. Kagome backed away in horror. Her father had started advancing on her, taking slow but sure steps. She could see the knife that he had tried to hide behind his back.

"Come, Kagome, I'll take you home and you can be safe, ok?" Her father said.

"I…i…e…" Kagome whispered.

"Nani?! You dare disrespect your father? I suspect you were helping your mother all along. You bitch!" her father yelled as he started running towards Kagome. Kagome whimpered in fright as there was another flash, and another rumble. The storm had turned very severe, as the rain was raining down as if it was a never=ending waterfall. Kagome was saved when both of them heard some men in the distance yelling "It's him! Come on men, hurry! We must catch him!" the police officer yelled. Mr. Suzuki started running the opposite direction the men came from. Finally, the police men caught up to Kagome. One of them fired their gun in the direction of Kagome's father.

"Child, are you ok?" the head chief asked. Kagome started crying.

"W..w..what happened?" Kagome asked in a shaky voice. The men shook their head in pity for the girl.

"Your father has turned out to be a very, very bad man. He had been dealing with drugs, and was in a fit of depression. Drunk, and thinking for a reason that your mother was cheating on him, he took a knife and stabbed her. She seems to be ok, but she is still recovering at the hospital. Your brother Souta could be found crying, hidden in one of the closets. Your uncle Suzuki…he…" the chief looked down, and he truly pitied the girl.

"Your uncle Suzuki died from trying to protect your mother." he said quietly.

"What! No! Uncle Suzuki can't die! I'll see him again? You're lying!" Kagome pointed to the chief.

"Sorry, Kagome, there was nothing we could do about it." the chief hung his head in sorrow. He himself had been one of her uncle's closest friends. 3 police men could be seen dragging back an unconscious body.

"He's dead. The bullet hit him in the stomach, and he died of blood loss." Kagome didn't remember much after that, all she remembered was coming home to find the kitchen a bloodied mess, with police everywhere. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She fainted.

~*Back to present time*~

(AN. I feel like I just changed the plot - very very dramatically…)

Sesshoumaru shook Kagome. After she had whimpered, her eyes went blank. His eyes filled with worry for her. Taking off his jacket, he put it on her.

"Kagome!" he shook her. She finally snapped out of the trance. She had started trembling, and said,

"Sorry if I'm a nuisance to you…it's just this thunderstorm reminds me of…of…something that happened to me…" Kagome whispered. If Sesshoumaru had not been a demon, with his keen hearing, he wouldn't have picked it up.

Sesshoumaru wrapped his hands around her. He hated to see her so distressed. Feeling comfort, which had not happened in a long time, she began to tell him what happened on the very same night (same day, day month just to let you know) 13 years ago. After she told him that her mother had been severely injured, but recovered, Sesshoumaru tightened his hold on Kagome. Right now, if his father wasn't dead already, he'd choke him with his very own intestines while injecting poison into his bloodstream, making sure he'd die a fairly slow and painful death. But the shivering Kagome in his arms told his instincts otherwise.

"Kagome, the storm starting to go away, it's ok now, your father won't come back." Sesshoumaru tried to reassure Kagome.

"I…I know he won't, but I can't help but have this feeling that someone's after me…" she mumbled. As the rumbles and flashes of the thunderstorm went away, one last flash made Kagome stare at his eyes. For one second, she thought that she had thought his eyes were red and blue. Thinking she was seeing things, she didn't think much of it. Sesshoumaru's arms tightened even more, though it wasn't painful. The rain finally stopped, and there was no more thunder. The pair was only a little damp from the storm.

"Come, I'll show you a place where I go sometimes." Sesshoumaru told her. Kagome nodded and took his hand as he led her off in another direction through the trees.

Kagome gasped. Right in front of her stood a clearing, with the full moon in front, illuminating everything. There was a big pond, which had goldfish swimming in it. Surrounding the pond, there was flowers surrounding it. The place just radiated an aura of piece. Sesshoumaru bent down, picked a flower, and tucked it in Kagome's hair behind her ear. She blushed.

"I never knew there was a place like this…" Kagome said in wonder. She looked at Sesshoumaru, his form more accentuated thanks to the dampness of his shirt. She had to fight down the beginnings of a blush.

"I go here whenever I feel stressed out…" Sesshoumaru said.

"Oh…" Kagome said, fighting not to blush.

~*Sesshoumaru's POV*~

I had been extremely worried about Kagome. `Admit it, you like her!'

`This Sesshoumaru does not like her! I just admit that I do not want to see such ningens afraid. The…scent is not appealing.'

`Come on, you know you care for her! You comforted her when she was scared!'

`I have told you many times, that I do not like Kagome!'

`See! You even started calling her by your name! You call all other humans either ningen, or onna!'

`This Sesshoumaru feels that the ningen deserves respect…' I said, almost blushing.

`See! You almost blushed! Since when do you blush?! And she would make a good mother for your pups!'

`Nonsense! I still not mate with a human! Also, the pups would be hanyou, something which I despise greatly.'

`So? You'd cherish anything that came from Kagome! She's nice, she's forgiving, have you even heard her say I hate father? Also, don't you sense her power? Read her aura!'

So I did. I haven't before, but now I finally noticed it. Her aura radiated power, which meant she couldn't be a mere mortal. Then, it clicked. Her aura was of a miko! A powerful miko! I was shocked.

`Another reason why you should mate with her!'

`Mate?!' I roared. She is a miko, enemy of youkai!

`There are barely 100 youkai in the world, and miko nowadays probably do not know of their power. And a miko, if she was that powerful, would live longer than the normal lifespan of youkai!'

`True…'

`Come on! Just tell her you like her! But you should really tell her you're youkai first.' Without heeding the warnings of my so-called conscience, I moved closer to Kagome.

"Kagome…" I whispered.

"Hai?" Kagome asked.

"This Sesshoumaru…find you…tolerable." I didn't feel like I could say `I like you.' out loud.

~*Normal POV*~

A piece of ice around the Ice Prince's heart melted slowly from Kagome's smile. Kagome smiled, knowing that if Sesshoumaru said that, he must actually like you.

"I like you too." Kagome giggled. "I'd figure a man like you would have the guts to actually just say `I like you'." Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes, and started smirking. If Kagome had seen his face, she would have squealed and ran away. Suddenly Kagome was pushed against the grass (not like THAT you perverts!). Sesshoumaru started tickling her, saying,

"Cowardly, am I?" Sesshoumaru asked, resisting the urge to laugh at the squirming Kagome beneath him.

"N…noo!! Stop!! It's not fair!! Hahahaha!! Stop!!" Kagome said, trying to squirm out of his grasp.

"Say uncle!" Sesshoumaru exclaimed.

"Uncle, hahaha, uncle!! Stop!!" Finally, Sesshoumaru stopped. Kagome pouted.

"That wasn't fair! You took me by surprise!" Kagome said.

"Well, I'll take you by surprise again…" Sesshoumaru said as he lowered his lips against hers. Kagome's eyes widened a bit, then closed as she started to respond. Putting one of her hands on his neck and the other on his back, she moaned when Sesshoumaru nibbled on her lips. Taking this (no, no, there won't be any lemon) chance, he delved his tongue in her mouth.

`She tastes…intoxicating! Almost like exotic wild flowers with honey mixed together…' Sesshoumaru thought. All thoughts flew out of his head when Kagome started responding. What started as an innocent kiss turned into a passionate one. They finally broke apart for air, and a confused Kagome found her on top of Sesshoumaru.

"I didn't want to crush you." He replied simply. Kagome just nodded and leaned against his chest. `That was my first kiss…' Kagome thought, blushing at what happened, and hid her face against the crook of Sesshoumaru's neck.

"We should get you home, it's already 10:30." (wow, time sure passes quickly in my story!) Sesshoumaru stated. Kagome nodded, and they started making their way out of the park. Sesshoumaru walked Kagome up the shrine steps, and they both kissed goodnight.

"Wait!" Kagome said, starting to blush again when Sesshoumaru turned around. She handed out a slip of paper.

"H..here's my number…" Kagome said, staring at the ground. Looking back up, she saw Sesshoumaru take the slip of paper, slip it in his pocket, nod, and start walking down the shrine steps.

Sighing, Kagome stepped into the house, getting ready for bed when the phone rang. Picking it up, she said, "Moshi moshi?"

"Hi Kagome! Where'd you go?" Eri asked. Eri was one of Kagome's friends who attended high school.

"Um…I went on a date." Kagome said, nervously thinking that she would never hear the end of it. She was right.

"OH MY GOD!! WAS IT WITH HOJO?" Eri squealed. "I'm going to three way Yuka, hold on a sec." After Kagome heard a ring tone, she heard someone pick up.

"Moshi moshi?" Yuka said.

"Yuka? It's me and Kagome. KAGOME WENT OUT ON A DATE WITH HOJO! FINALLY!" Eri shrieked.

"REALLY?!! I feel so jealous, I mean Hojo's so cute! And he's so sweet!" Yuka said.

Kagome looked like O-_- (Sweatdrop). (AN: dammit I just realized some symbols didn't show up on fanfiction.net!! o well I guess I'll have to change it a little. also, if the story's screwed up, it's not my fault! I've only gotten 9 hours of sleep in the past 2 days!)

"Um…guys…" Kagome said, though her friends were still squealing like idiots.

"GUYS!! I DIDN'T GO OUT WITH HOJO!" Kagome yelled into the phone. Then, there was silence.

"So you went out with Kouga! OH MY GOD! HE IS LIKE SOOOO HOT!!" Yuka screamed.

"I DIDN'T GO OUT WITH KOUGA EITHER!!" Kagome yelled, exasperated. Another awkward silence.

"Then who did you go out with?" Eri asked, curious, and looking for gossip, as usual.

"I went out with…someone you don't know." Kagome thought better than to tell them it was the Sesshoumaru Takahashi, otherwise they'd stomp to her house right now and demand her to tell them what happened.

"Oh my god!! Kagome, that's why you refused by Kouga AND Hojo! You have a boyfriend! Why didn't you tell us?! Is he cute? Is he hot? How rich is he? What school does he go to? Does he wear boxers or briefs?" Yuka said, all in one breath.

"No, no, no, that's not why I refused them! I just…don't like them! I just met the guy! And um…I don't think I can answer all of your questions…" Kagome said, blushing like mad at the `boxers of briefs' part.

"Then what's his name?" Eri asked.

"Um…Aye...Suzuki?" Kagome said, making up a name at the top of her head.

"Kagome, you were never good at lying. Tell us! We promise we won't tell anyone!" (AN: psh ya right) Eri said.

Kagome started getting nervous, and said, "Um….you're right! I did go with Ko -" Kagome thought better of it, since if Kouga found out he'd go to her right now and claim her his woman again. "Hojo!"

"Kagome, REALLY, who is it!!" They both said at the same time.

"You don't know him! What good would it be?" Kagome asked.

"You know, that's kind of true…oh well…hey, Eri, did you know that Sakura got a new boyfriend? We…. … " Kagome didn't pay attention to the rest. She was extremely relieved that they didn't find out. Otherwise, there would be hell for Kagome.

"Um, guys? I gotta go now. I want to go have a bath. Bye!" Kagome said, without waiting for their response. She sighed, took a bath, and changed into her pajamas. Climbing into her bed, she felt some thoughts drift into her head. `Why did I let him kiss me? Does he like me? Or is he just playing with me? Either way, I think I'm starting to fall in love…' Gasping, Kagome just realized what she just said.

~*Kagome's POV*~

I felt some thoughts plague me. `Why did I let him kiss me? Does he like me? Or is he just playing with me? Either way, I think I'm starting to fall in love…' Gasping out loud, I realized what I just said. I can't have fallen in love! I've just met him!

`That's what you think. You know you're attracted to him.'

`I'm not attracted!'

`Then why did you let him kiss you?'

`…'

`Exactly! Meanwhile, I think you should use your miko powers and observe his aura.'

`I noticed something different about him…but what?' This was Kagome's last thought as she drifted off to sleep. PLEASE READ: If you've reviewed before, I've probably answered it after the little conversations after stories. You'll see your name there! So if you've reviewed, keep scrolling down!

Sesshoumaru: Hold's out hand, and it starts to glow.

Kagome: What are you doing, Sesshou?

Sesshoumaru: Disposing of her.

Kagome: If you destroy her, no one will continue this story!

Sesshoumaru: True…fine, I will frighten her.

SCL: Uh…guys…what are you talking about. (screams) Ahhhhhhhh!!!

Sesshoumaru: That should teach you, filthy ningen, about keeping the readers waiting!

SCL: Um, you guys, thanks for reading, but I have to go now…BYE!!! AHHHH!!!
