InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ American Love ❯ Chapter Fifteen ( Chapter 15 )

Disclaimer: I've decided that honesty is the best way so (sighs sadly) Inuyasha isn't mine and never will be. (Smiles) that wasn't hard!

“That was…” Inuyasha couldn't find the words.

“Easy…” Kagome substituted.

“Yeah.”

Why did Kanna do that? Of all the people to deceive Naraku, it was Kanna.

“Hey Kanna…” Kagura started, “why did you kill Naraku? I wanted to!” She fake pouted then laughed. “Good job!”

“I killed Naraku because he was misusing his demonic power and killing innocent people. After Sesshomaru was dead he was going to kill Rin. He didn't kill her first this time because her death only fueled Sesshomaru to kill him quicker. I couldn't live with her death on my conscience.”

“Oh. But I thought you were evil like him,” Kagura said with a monkey-scratching-his-head look on her face.

“I was the first time, but not this time.”

“Oh. I see. But why didn't you tell me that you weren't evil this time?”

“It might have ruined my plans.”

Kagome was still making sure that her family wasn't harmed. She was wondering how Naraku came back. All that she could remember was what she dreamt about… nothing about Inuyasha bringing him back… even if it was an accident.

Inuyasha was wondering the same thing as Kagome. “Kagura, how did I bring Naraku back?”

Technically it was Kagome, but it was your fault she wished it.”

That didn't really answer anything for either of them. “Kagome wished it, but it was my fault?”

“If you would have took the Shikon when she gave it to you then she wouldn't have asked for an equal balance between good and evil.”

“But isn't that good?” Kagome asked.

“Yeah it's fine.”

“Will Naraku come back?” Inuyasha asked.

“Nope… he shouldn't.”

“Cool!” Sota said.

“Is there a possibility?” Inuyasha asked, concern evident in his voice.

“Yeah. But if he comes back so will you guys,” Kagura said on a more positive note. “Stop worrying, Inuyasha.”

Kagome left the hotel at exactly 5:30 AM the next day. Her, Sota, Gramps, and their mom stayed the night to catch up on lost sleep. She felt bad about leaving Inuyasha and Sesshomaru after everything that happened, but she had to go home and get back into the steady life she once had. All this that happened would soon be a thing of the past, Sesshomaru would soon be a thing of the past… even Inuyasha would.

Sota was the first one out of the car when they got to the airport. He couldn't wait to get home, sleep in his bed, and brag to his friends about how he went America with his sister. Of course he couldn't tell them the really good part, but he could make something up.

They all got onto the plane, ready to leave America… ready to leave Inuyasha.

“Hey is Kagome Higurashi here?” Inuyasha asked the woman at the desk.

“No, she left about a half hour ago… but she told me to give this to Inuyasha. Are you him?”

“Yeah, I'm him.”

The woman handed Inuyasha the note Kagome left him. It said:

Inuyasha,

Please forgive me, but I'm going back to Japan. By the time you get this, I will be on the plane back home. Please forgive me. You don't know how hard this is for me. I'll miss you greatly.

Sincerely yours,
Kagome Higurashi

“Damn! What airport is she going to?”

“Uh…”

Inuyasha took off running. He jumped into his car and took off with his tires squealing. Luckily, no police saw him or he would have been in a lot of trouble and he would never catch up with Kagome.

Inuyasha pulled into the parking that said: No overnight parking in this lot. He didn't care. All he wanted was to do was catch up with Kagome.

A ray of light shown down on him when he heard the announcer say, “One more ticket to Tokyo, Japan.” Now he had to go buy that ticket. He got up to the desk to buy the ticket, but he was too late. The man in front off him bought the ticket first.

“Hey, I'll buy that ticket off of you for twice the price.”

“No way! It is really hard to get tickets at this price!” the man argued.

“Three times the price!” Inuyasha haggled.

“Dude, what part of `no' don't you get?”

“My life is leaving me on that plane! Four times the price!” The ticket was starting to rack up some price.

“Why did you let her go?” the man asked.

“I… she… it… never mind that! Five times the price!”

The man gave in. “Here.”

Inuyasha handed the guy his wallet and took the ticket. “Thanks!”

Inuyasha looked down at the ticket. Second class. He didn't care. Inuyasha got onto the plane with the other people. He had to find Kagome… somehow.

The man looked into his wallet. He took it up to the desk where he bought the ticket. “I doubt that this man will be back so could you send it to him?”

The woman smiled. “Sure.”

Inuyasha found his seat and sat in it. It's gonna be a long trip to Japan, why don't I get some sleep? He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Kagome was close to tears. She knew she shouldn't have left. Inuyasha would hate her for this, but she had to.

Instead of crying, Kagome wondered what Inuyasha was doing at that exact moment, and fell asleep.

-1-1-1-

“Kags, wake up. We're here.” Sota shook her a little harder than he did the first time.

She opened her eyes slowly. “OK, I'm awake,” she said in a sleep-covered voice.

They got off the plane. Kagome went to her car because Sota said that he'd get everything.

-1-1-1-

“Sota,” someone called. “Sota.”

“Who—” It just dawned on him. “Inuyasha!”

“In the flesh. Where's your sister?”

“In her car. Why?”

“I need to talk to her.”

Sota got a brilliant idea. “I'll give you the address to her house `cause she has to take me, Mom, and Gramps home, then she'll be there and you can surprise her!”

“Good idea, only one problem.”

“What?”

“I don't have a car with me.”

“Get a taxi! Gosh, someone from New York City couldn't think to get a taxi!” Sota pretended to be hurt. “What is this world coming to?”

“Ha ha. Write her address down and give it to me.”

“OK, OK gees!” Sota wrote it down quickly and handed it to Inuyasha. “Here.”

“Thanks.”

“'Welcome.” Sota grabbed the stuff and took it to the car.

-1-1-1-

“Bye Kagome!” Sota said then gave her a hug. “That was the best time I ever had!”

“Bye Sota.” She hugged him back.

“Don't forget to come and visit,” Kagome's mom said.

“'Course not.”

Kagome left to go home. She was really sad. Why had she left Inuyasha with nothing but a note? Why…?

Kagome got to the front of her apartment complex. I'll get my stuff later. Right now I'm too tired.

She walked in and went to go up the steps when she heard her name. “Kagome.”

“Inu… Inuyasha?”

“Yep.”

She ran over to him and gave him a hug. It took a second, but he realized that she was crying. “What's wrong?”

“I can't believe I was going to leave you!” She cried harder. Kagome had never been the crying type, but she just had to let it out. About two minutes later she was done. “Why did you come?”

“Ain't you happy to see me?”

“Yeah.”

“You didn't want to go by yourself or you wouldn't have gave me that note. Don't you ever watch American love movies?” Inuyasha laughed. Right now his life felt like an American love movie. What would he call it though?

“No I don't.”

“Are we going to go up?” Inuyasha asked.

“Yeah.”

I will make one more chapter… possibly two. It just depends if I can fit the end into one chapter. Thanks for reading this far! R&R XOXO Tormented Hanyou
