Kagome looked down at the floor. She was in a dark room and she had very little memory of how she got there. All that she did remember was flying over half the United States in a matter of about ten minutes. She traced lazy circles in the carpet on the floor. Kagome did know, however, who brought her to this place. Kagura. She turned over in the hard bed she was laying in so she faced the ceiling. Mom, I will find you. And I will kill Naraku.

 

“Kagome, you should get some rest.” Who was that? How did they know that she was awake?

 

“Who—”

 

“Now how long have we been cooped in a car together? Don't you think you should know my voice by now?” Inuyasha teased.

 

 

“I'm sorry. I was just zoning out…” She trailed off.

 

“Yeah I could tell. You need your sleep.” Inuyasha heard her sob as if she was trying to hide her tears. “What's wrong? Did I say something?”

 

 

“No… it wasn't you…” She sobbed again, only this time it was louder and more audible.

 

“Then what is it?”

 

She shook her head in the negative direction even though it was too dark for Inuyasha to see it. “I don't want to talk about it.”

 

“OK.” Inuyasha was worried about Kagome. He had to find out what was wrong with her. No one should have to live with secrets like that… it could really mess up someone's mental stability.

 

Kagome kept her cries silent… well as silent as she could. Inuyasha could hear her, and little did she know her brother could too. He was going to say something, but thought better of it. Sota was thinking the same thing as Inuyasha.

“So are we ready?” Kagura asked as everyone was waking up.

 

“Humans need food, Kagura.” He didn't trust her totally yet.

 

“Yeah I know… what do you guys want? I can get it really quick.”

 

“I'm not hungry.” Kagome got up. “I'm ready to go.”

 

“Well those of us who are hungry need to eat.” Sota started this fight. That was plain and clear.

 

“Sota don't start.”

 

“Well I'm hungry and you don't need to rush us!”

 

“I said `don't start' and I mean it.” Kagome's voice rose.

 

“Oh whatcha gonna do?”

 

“If you don't shut it then I will slap that smug little smile off your face,” Kagome threatened.

 

“OK,” he said in a squeaky voice.

 

“That's what I thought.”

 

Everyone looked at Kagome like she had lost her mind. Sota thought that she had. Never before had she threatened him like that. Kagome had never threatened to slap him… well not that seriously any way. But Sota now understood why she was acting so out of it… Naraku.

 

“Sis… why don't—”

 

“No. I'm fine.” Kagome smiled reassuringly. “Really.” I just want to talk to Mom and Gramps… that's all.

 

Kagura slapped her hands together breaking the silence. “We'll get some food on the way.”

 

“Fine with me,” Inuyasha mumbled. What's with her? She has never done anything like that… I know her and Sota fight when they're tired… maybe that's it…

 

“You comin', Inuyasha?” Sota asked. He didn't realize that everyone had already gotten on the giant feather.

 

“Oh, yeah.”

“He would never let Kagura keep Kagome that long!” Naraku fumed. He had been doing a lot of that here recently. Naraku just wanted Kagome and Inuyasha dead… well and some other people, but first Kagome and Inuyasha. “Show them to me!”

 

Kanna got her mirror ready to show him when a loud blast from outside of the hideout distracted them.

 

“What just happened?” Naraku yelled impatiently.

 

“I do not know, Master Naraku.”

 

“Well then check your mirror!”

 

“Yes, Master Naraku.” Kanna showed him the mirror. This time it showed Kagura breaking into the hideout with Kagome, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, Sota, and Jaken.

 

No! They can't!

“He knows we're here, so be on the lookout,” Kagura explained.

 

“We should have left Sota,” Kagome said to know one in particular.

 

“No! I want to be here.”

 

“Sota, you have to keep a safe distance away from Naraku. If he gets the chance he will kill you. He has no morals or conscience,” said Kagura.

 

“Got it.”

 

They walked down the halls of the huge hideout. Only Kagura knew where he was so they had to follow her. And only Kagura knew that their every step was being watched.

 

“Hey—” Sota started.

 

“Shh. Don't talk.”

 

Sota shook his head in the positive direction indicating that he understood.

 

Kagura opened the door to the room Naraku was in.

 

“Well, well if it isn't Kagura,” Naraku snickered.

 

“Well, well if it isn't the asshole with a face,” Kagura shot back.

 

Naraku's smirk faded. “Bitch!”

 

Just then Kikyo stepped out. “You called.”

 

“Not you, Kikyo. You can go back in there, I'll be in right after I kill these people.”

 

“OK babe. I'll be waiting.” Kikyo went back into the room she came out of.

 

“Eww!” Inuyasha said. “You and Kikyo! That's just sickening!”

 

“Kanna open the door,” Naraku ordered.

 

Kanna did as she was told. When she open the door everyone saw the people tied up inside.

 

“Mom! Gramps!” Kagome choked out. “Sango, Miroku! You're alright!” Then she looked down closer to the floor. Buyo was tied up as well. “Buyo? You took my cat! It's not like he's gonna `cause any threat, Naraku!”

 

“That cat scratched me!” Naraku protested.

 

“You big baby! Buyo wouldn't hurt a fly! He's harmless!”

 

Kagome took a step towards the hostages. Naraku glared at her, but did nothing. She got braver and walked all the way over to them. Kagome untied Gramps, her mom, Sango, Miroku, and then Buyo. Then, Kagome walked back over to Inuyasha with everyone behind her.

 

Why didn't he do anything? Inuyasha asked himself.

 

“Kohaku, show yourself.”

 

Kohaku stepped out of the shadows. “Sis!” he yelled. A jolt of pain shot through him knocking him to his knees.

 

“What did I tell you, boy?”

 

“Kohaku!” Sango ran over to Kohaku. “I thought you were killed! You just disappeared one day with no trace… everyone thought you were dead!”

 

“No, this asshole kidnapped me.”

 

“Kohaku, don't cuss.”

 

“Oh, isn't this just the sweetest thing? Brother and sister reunited for the first time in over a year, only to die in the arms of each other.”

 

Just then Naraku had a jolt of pain shoot through his body. He looked down to see a sword stuck through his body. Naraku turned around to see his attacker. “Kanna…”

 

“Die!” And just like that he was dead. His body disintegrated and Naraku was no more.
