Chapter 2

Kagome eventually came across a cave, a little ways away from the stream she had seen earlier, where she went inside and sat down to cry her feelings out.

Little did Kagome know that there was a bear youkai behind her in the cave. Partly because her own crying was too loud to hear anything else and the salty smell of tears and cherry blossoms drowned out her senses.

The bear youkai that looked like a human but had fine deep brown hair, which was quite long he had claws that seemed to be able to slice her in half, approached Kagome. The demon's large figure looked a lot like a bear's.

"Do you know whose presence you dare show your weakness in?" Kagome stopped crying long enough to acknowledge the youkai's presence.

"I am Dayu, son of the great Eastern Lord, Daisetsu."

Kagome did not even look up at him but stared into the side of the cave.

Dayu being as conceited as he was said, "I am insulted by your insolence you are now to die by my claws."

At that Dayu attacked but Kagome was out of his way in a flash. Dayu tried to attack a few more times but Kagome dodged every single one of his attempts.

Dayu now starting to get tired slowed down. Giving Kagome a chance to attack. Kagome using her poison claws again attacked him shredding him and leaving his little pieces on the ground dissolving in poison left by her claws.

After defeating Dayu Kagome decided to head back to Kaede's village.

When Kagome had reached the village the villagers panicked and evacuated.

Kagome knowing Kaede might try to kill her like Inuyasha had wanted to do she left the human village she once thought as a sheltered second home; but not after acquiring some new clothes from the village for she had spoiled her uniform already by the battles.

Kagome had also gathered up some armor as well incase of a battle.

While changing her clothes Kagome noticed she had red markings on her arms and cheeks those as of the same as Sesshomaru's.

"Sesshomaru! The great lords of the North, South, and East have decided that if you have no mate then you shall not claim you heirloom of being the Lord of the Western Lands." Jaken said this carefully as to not anger his master.

"Yes Jaken I know. Now go tend to Rin and help her with her lessons."

Yosai, a lower snake demon but a very strong one walked in from the back entrance of the room and said in a strong voice, "I have news from Daisetsu, The Eastern Lord. He says his son was murdered earlier today by a new demon who happens to be a female." While saying this Yosai was quite amused at the fact that Dayu one of the strongest demons of these lands was murdered by a female demon who has never been seen before.

"Who is this demon that you speak of?"

"No one knows who she is it seems she just appeared. My Lord Sesshomaru, are you going to hunt for this mysterious maiden?"

Sesshomaru was quite amazed by the demon but yet he hated Dayu as well because he was so conceited.

It has been almost a year and it is now getting closer to winter, it has gotten much colder. The trees have gone bare and white powder has started falling.

Kagome in the time being was wandering around. She had been killing demons that attacked her for the Shikon no Kakera.

Kagome, still having her miko powers, was able to defeat a few demons using them and others with her demon powers.

She had been wandering for a many months and had been meeting more and more demons that said that they would want to take her as their mate. She thought about it and decided it was because she was a beautiful demon and she was a very powerful one as well.

A year, or almost a year, of traveling and being pursued an unexpected demon appeared to her.

It had been a nice crisp morning and snow had just started falling again when he came and attacked her from almost nowhere.

Kagome after being attacked turned and hit him.

Kagome hit his left shoulder and realized that he had only half an arm.

The demon was white as was Kagome. This demon though was slightly faster than Kagome and was always a step ahead of her when attacking. Especially when he was in contrast about the same color as the white powder now everywhere.

After enough fighting Kagome yelled to the demon, "What do you want of me?"

"I was merely testing your strength since you were the demon that defeated Dayu were you not?"

Kagome finally noticed who he was and said almost in shock, "Sesshomaru?"

"Yes. I see you know me."

"Yes, I was the demon that defeated Dayu."

"You are quite strong for a female."

"I traveled with Inuyasha before I was turned into a demon."

"You did, did you?"

"Yes I was that girl you tried to kill almost a year and seven months ago in your father's grave."

Kagome was quite shocked to know he did not recognize her.

"You do smell and act quite like that insolate human girl that followed my hanyou brother."

"I was that insolate human girl that followed your hanyou brother." Kagome was quite offended and in saying this she put on a smug look.

Kagome was now quite annoyed and bored. She then grabbed a leaf off of a near by tree and dissolved it with her poison claws.

"I see you look a lot like me."

"Well we shall see about that." Kagome then started to change into her "true form" as you may call it.

Kagome almost looked exactly like Sesshoumaru except much more gentler in posture and facial structures.

"Quite nice for a female I may think you a potential mate."

Kagome then changed back and said quite simply, "I have no interests in you. Also, what about my mission to make the Shikon no Tama whole again? It is my responsibility."

Midoriko's soul in what is left of the Shikon no Tama cast a spell over the demons. Midoriko knew how much danger Kagome would be in since she was being pursued by demons searching for her as a mate and those searching for the Shikon no Tama. Kagome could also learn more of her new powers and more about demons from Sesshomaru.

Kagome no longer had Inuyasha as a companion and would need the help.

Kagome and Sesshomaru were talking and did not notice a transparent lace come from the Shikon around Kagome's neck and wrap itself around Kagome's left wrist and Sesshomaru's right wrist.

Kagome, certain that Sesshomaru would be trouble, tried to walk away only to discover the transparent-pink lace wrapped around her left wrist.

Sesshomaru now noticing the lace as well thought to ask Kagome about it.

The lace was a bright pink in contrast to the white snow surrounding them.

Kagome only now realizing she was in desperate need of a bath. She was too modest and shy to take one especially with Sesshomaru bound to her.

But Kagome asked him anyways, "Um . . . Sesshomaru? I was wondering if I could take a bath?"

"You do as you wish." Was Sesshomaru's reply, he had almost cut her off with his quick reply.

Kagome just said, "Well okay. But you have to promise that you will not look."

"Whatever you wish. Just don't get used to this. I will somehow take this bond off of us."

Sesshomaru had his honor and would never violate a female's privacy.

After taking a bath and after Kagome had scolded and called him a hentai Sesshomaru said, "We will need to go to my palace if we are to release ourselves of these bonds without coming into danger."

Sesshomaru knew it would be a danger to be bound to this female in a fight. She may get in the way or even cause him to loss.
