Chapter 4: Settling In Kagome and Souta searched the entire upstairs floor in search of their new rooms. Upon searching they discovered 6 bedrooms, 2 of the six bedrooms had a joint bathroom connected to the rooms, and they discovered there were four bathrooms all together on the 2nd floor of the house. Kagome chose her room first. It was the last room down the hall on the 2nd floor and it also seemed to be the second largest bedroom in the house containing a jointed bathroom with a shower and a whirlpool bath tub, a white sink, a white toilet, and a large closet and cabinet space for her clothes and toiletries. It was perfect, it was very large in size and not to mention had two walk in closets on either sides of the room and a walk in and out balcony also not to mention the door locked and there was a nice deadbolt on it to keep out intruders and parents of course. Kagome smiled to herself before exiting her new room in search of her things. Meanwhile with Souta....... Souta was in complete lala land as you can say he found his perfect room too. It was perfect it had a very large space, a large walk in closet with a balcony. Not to mention his very own bathroom next door. The bathroom contained a shower in the far corner, a small white toilet with a matching sink and a small tub with a few cabinets for storing towels and other shower items it was perfect just what a boy his side needed. Just as Souta was about to exit his new room he seen Kagome coming up the hall from what looked like to be her choice of her new room. "Hey Kagome so you picked the last room in the hallway that’s cool now I won't have to listen to your stupid music since our rooms are three doors down from one and other." "Yeah I did pick that room because it is the farthest away from you and its on the other side of the hallway from all of the other rooms its my very own sanctuary you pesky brat and my music is not stupid but on the other hand its those stupid video games of yours that are stupid and annoying." "Take that back video games are awesome not stupid." "Whatever you little brat just stay out of my way, out of my stuff, out of my room and out of my space." "Your so mean to me Kagome wined Souta." "Whatever" "Kagome that’s enough quit being so mean to your little brother." "Well he started it." "Kagome I don't care who started it quit acting like a child said Kagome's father." "OK" "Your mother and I can't even leave the two of you alone for five minutes and your all ready at each others throats can't the two of you just get along?" "NO" "Kagome Souta you both need to learn how to get along this is our new home so lets start out with a fresh start and quit all of this bickering all of the time added their Mother." "Okay sorry mom Souta and Kagome said in unison." "Good now that’s settled did the two of you pick your new rooms asked Mrs. Higurashi?" "Yup" "This one is mine, Kagome's is the last one down the hall on that side Souta said while pointing in the direction towards Kagome's room." "Thats wonderful dear, but Kagome why did you pick a room on the other side of the hallway from the rest of us asked her mother." "Because I need my space and that room is perfect." "I see well its true you are a teen and teens need their space." "Exactly" ""Mom, Dad did you guys pick a room yet?" "Yes your father and I are taking the room two doors down from Souta's I believe it is the master suite." "Cool said Souta." "I see I figured you take that room, said Kagome." "Well you figured right so now that we know where everyone’s new room is I guess we can tackle the task of getting settled in, said Mr. Higurashi." "Ok lets get settled in replied Kay." ********Two hours later********* Kagome helped her parents and Souta unload everything from the U-Haul and brought it into the house. They brought Kagome's belongings into her room first, and then they brought Souta all of his belongings as well before proceeding into bringing the rest of the stuff to their rightful rooms. Kagome helped her mother unpack all of the kitchen ware. While Souta helped his father carry everyone's stuff in the proper rooms. ********1:00 a.m. In the morning******** The Higurashi family finished unpacking their living room and arranged the furniture into place putting away all the items and hanging up pictures in their living room and dining room as well. Kagome finished helping her mother straightening up the kitchen and putting all the dishes and cookware in their rightful places in the cabinets. After the women of the Higurashi family finished organizing the kitchen they helped Souta and Rai with getting the living room settled in. "Finally were done all that’s left is the bedrooms exclaimed Rai while whipping his brow with the back of his hand." "Yeah but for now I think we should turn in its really late commented Mrs. Higurashi." "Yeah I agree with you Dear replied Mr. Higurashi." "Kagome, Souta I think you should go to sleep too then we'll get up in the morning to unpack our rooms said their father Rai." "Okay Dad answered Souta." "What about you Kagome asked Souta?" "No you can go to bed but I’m going to try to unpack some of my things before turning in for the night answered Kagome." "Okay sweetie have fun but don't stay up to late you'll have all day tomorrow to unpack, commented their mother Kay." "Yeah I know mom but the sooner I get everything unpacked the sooner I can check out Tokyo." "Ok well night Kagome." "Goodnight everyone." "Night sis" "Night you Brat" Kagome smiled and messed up her brother’s hair with her hand. After saying good night to her family Kagome headed back to her room to get started with unpacking every thing. ********6:00 a.m. ********* It was 6am and Kagome was tired she spent the last five hours unpacking and putting her things away. Placing the last book on her bookshelf Kagome finished unpacking all of her stuff now she was completely tired. Grabbing her blanket that was folded at the end of her bed and her pillow Kagome climbed on her bed. Laying the pillow at the headboard of the bed she laid down after reaching over and shutting of her lamp she covered herself up and went to sleep.
