Chapter 3: Are We There Yet???

The sun shined brightly in the morning sky. The Higurashi family was still fast asleep on their empty living room floor. The sum beamed into the window and shined on a certain sleepy girl. Said girl rolled over mumbling a few coherent words to herself. "Sleep to early..." Kagome mumbled in her still tired state. Kagome mumbling to herself stirred Mrs. Higurashi from her sound sleep. Mrs. Higurashi groggily opened her eyes to see it was very sunny out. She rubbed at her eyes for a few seconds before crawling out of her bed. After she was standing on her feet she bent down and picked up her blanket and pillow. "Morning everyone its time to get up." Kay walked over to her husband's still sleeping form. She bent down and pulled the blanket from him. "Rise and Shine Honey its time to get up we have much to get done today get up Rai." "I'm up I'm up mumbled Rai as he raised himself into a sitting position on the floor," "Morning Dear." "Help me get the children up will you?" "Yes Dear" "Rai stood and walked over to Souta's sleeping form. "Souta time to get up boy its morning, Rai said shaking his son's shoulders slightly." "Kagome wake up its morning." Souta woke up first and wined, "But its to early I want to sleep." "Souta would you keep it down you brat I’m trying to sleep mumbled Kagome." "Come on kids its time to get up there is no time for sleeping we have things to get done this morning so get up please." "But mom its to early wined Souta." "You heard your mother Souta, we have to finish the rest of the packing so we can head to Tokyo today." "We're going to Tokyo today asked Souta excitedly." "Yes we are after we make sure everything is packed and ready to go answered Rai." "That’s great squealed Souta." "Kagome you have to get up to I’m sure you want to say goodbye to your friends before we leave for Tokyo." "Alright I’m up so give me a break already, shouted Kagome." (A/n Kagome is a very grumpy person if she is awoken in the morning hence forth why she is very moody in the time of the morning that is all.) "Kagome don't shout at your mother now hurry and get up this instance young lady." "Yeah whatever, I'm up so now could you all leave me alone." "Kagome I do not appreciate that attitude so I suggest you change it this instance do you hear me." "Yes father I am sorry." "Now apologize to your mother as well she did not deserve to be shouted at." "I'm sorry mother." "It's okay dear now please hurry and help us pack the rest of our things we are hoping to be out of here and headed to Tokyo by noon." "OK Mom" After they folded up their blankets Souta took them out to the family van. *********Three Hours Later********** "Are you sure that is everything?" "Yup this the last thing to load." "That’s great so we're leaving before noon?" "Yup its seems like it all we got to do is finish loading this into the U-Haul and then we can head out." "That’s great dad I can't wait to get to Tokyo, said Souta." "I'm glad one of you are happy about the move, said Rai motioning with his hand towards his daughter the one who was not to happy about the move at all." "Okay Its loaded man that took a long time to get it in there." "Yeah I know what was in that chest anyways, asked Souta?" "I don't know Souta, that’s Kagome's hope chest you ask her." "Hey Kagome what' s in that hope chest?" "None of your business twerp if I wanted you to know I would of told you." "Gosh Kagome you don't have to be so mean about it I was only curious." "Haven't you heard that curiosity killed the cat?" "Kagome that’s just mean apologize to Souta, said Mrs. Higurashi." "Whatever he shouldn't be so nosy." "You two fight all the time I hope when we get settled into to Tokyo you can learn to get along." "I doubt that will ever happen but you can keep dreaming there mom." "Kagome your so mean complained Souta." "Whatever can we go all ready?" "Kagome apologize to your mother and Souta this instance and you better knock it off with that attitude of yours your not a child anymore so stop acting like one." "Sorry mom. sorry Souta." "Like she means it.." "Souta you apologize to your sister quit agonizing her." "Sorry Kagome." "Its okay you twerp." "You guys, oh never mind." "What are we going to do with the two of you always fighting like this all the time you two need to act your ages especially you Kagome your not a child." Kagome completely zoned out her fathers lecture and listened to her iPod. "Kagome are you listening to me?" "Kagome?" "Why do I even bother she doesn't even listen to me anyways." "Its okay dear at least you try but she is a teen after all and the tend to be unruly." "Yeah I know what you mean Hun." "All right you two go say goodbye to your friends while you still can because were leaving in about 5mins." "Okay Dad." Kagome raced off down the street towards Saya's house. "Souta don't you want to say goodbye to your friends?" "Yeah I'll be right back okay I’m running to Shun's house." Souta took off running down the block to his best friend’s house. Meanwhile....... Kagome reached Saya's house in less then 12 seconds. She knocked on the door three times before opening it and going inside, She was greeted by Saya's mom TamiYuki. "Morning Mrs. Hayisuki is Saya home?" "Saya is upstairs Kagome and please call me Tami." "Okay thank you Tami" Kagome ran up the stairs to Saya's room. The door was closed so she knocked three times before opening it. As she walked in the room she noticed Saya was sprawled out on the floor crying. ("What could she be crying about Kagome asked herself."?) Saya looked up with tears in rimming her eyes. "Kagome" "When did you get here?" "Just a minute ago are you okay Saya?" Kagome was concerned about her friend. "I'm fine Kagome" "Then why were you crying?" "Because mom just told me father was going over seas for a business trip and I always miss him when he leaves to America." "Its okay Saya I'm sure your father will make it safe." "Thanks Kagome." "So what brings you here Kagome, Saya asked her tone of voice completely changed." "I came to say goodbye." "Oh I see so your leaving today?" "Yes and it sucks too because I don't want to leave you guys." "I know its okay Kagome, but I'm sure going to miss you and the others to I know they will." "I'm glad to hear that." "Did you say goodbye to Drayton yet?" "No there is no time I only have five minutes so I wanted to say goodbye to you because your my best friend." 'I'm glad to hear that because your my best friend too Kagome." "Well this is goodbye I guess I’m sure going to miss you Saya." "As I will you." The girls hugged each other, Kagome promised to call her and keep her update on her life in Tokyo. Saya promised to keep Kagome updated on all her friend's lives in Kyoto and most important Drayton. The parted ways after hugging and saying their goodbyes then Kagome left Saya's home and returned to her parents to leave. Meanwhile elsewhere with Souta......... Souta reached Shun's house in only a short matter of seconds. He knocked on the door only once before said friend by the name of Shun answered the door. "Hey Souta what’s up?" "Hey Shun there’s something I need to tell you." "What is it bro?" "I’m moving" "What where when asked Shun?" "Now and too Tokyo, answered Souta." "You waited this long to tell me and I’m your best friend asked Shun?" "We didn't find out until yesterday morning when my parents told us at breakfast." "I see well I’ll miss ya Souta." "I'll miss you too Shun your like the brother I never had." Said boys began to laugh and then they shook hands. "Keep in touch okay Souta let me know what Tokyo is like." "Okay I will Shun no worries there." "Bye Souta good luck in Tokyo have fun I’ll miss you." "Bye Shun" Souta waved goodbye to his friend before running back home to leave. Both Souta and Kagome made it back at the same time. They looked at each other before running towards the family car. "I get the way back seat you brat so don't even think about said a running Kagome." "We'll see who gets yelled a running Souta." "First one to the car gets it." "Your on you little twerp but prepare to loose said Kagome picking up her pace." "Whatever its you that’s going to loose." Before Kagome could manage a comeback Souta darted off towards the car faster then Kagome ever seen him run before. "Hey Souta that’s cheating you little brat you distracted me, Kagome yelled after him." "You snooze you loose replied Souta as he came to a haut and opened the side door of the car climbing into the way back sear. "You little brat yelled Kagome as she made it to the car." Hurry and get in Kagome so we can get going said Kay." Kagome climbed into the seat of course not thee back seat because she was out smarted by the brat but it would do. After making sure every had their seat belts on Rai backed out of the drive way with the U- Haul on tow and headed for the highway. ************2 Hours Later***************** "Are we there yet asked a very excited Souta?" "Almost there be patient Souta answered his mother." "Can't you keep quiet for a while and quit asking if were there yet we'll get there when we get there twerp." "Kagome" "Yeah what do you want brat?" "Your so mean Kagome." "What’s new, asked a very annoyed Kagome." ("I swear if I have to spend twenty more minute with that annoying brat I’m going to strangle him.") "How long does it take to get to Tokyo from Kyoto asked Kagome?" "Five hours answered her father." (A/N I really don't know how long it takes to get to Tokyo from Kyoto so bear with me okay.")"So were really not almost there then asked a very irritated Kagome." "No but the rest stop is about 15miles away." "I see" "This is so boring mumbled Kagome." "What was that dear, asked Kagome's mother?" "Nothing" "Okay then" Kagome grabbed her iPod from out of her bag and started to listen to Escape the Fate ." **********3 Hours later*************** Kagome had been listening to her wonderful music for about three hours now. "All right kids Two miles left and we'll be in Tokyo." "Yeah screamed an excited Souta." Kagome said nothing for she was to caught up in her music to be paying attention to what anyone was saying besides the iPod and the glorious song "Not Good Enough For Truth in Cliché" her favorite song. Ten minutes later she was being nudged by her annoying pesky little brother in the ribs. "Kagome are you listening?" "Kagome were here!" "KAGOME" Kagome turned down her volume and asked "What do you want Twerp?" "Were here Kagome were in Tokyo Look" Kagome did as her brother said and looked out the window. The city they were entering was huge way bigger then Kyoto no two times the size of Kyoto. It was beautiful and very noisy. "All right we made this is our new home announced her father." "Cool yelled Souta." "Where is our new house asked Kay." "On the other side of Tokyo." "When will we get there asked Kagome?" "In about a half hour, answered her father Rai." "Okay well I’m going to listen to my music so let me know when we get there said Kagome." *********Thirty Minutes Later********* Thirty minute later the Higurashi family pulled into the garage of their new home. The house was much bigger then their old one and seemed to be more roomy not that there wasn't enough room in the old house. The house was as big as one of those rich people's house from MTV. "Wow its amazing." "Can we really afford this asked Kagome." "Of course with my promotion we'll have more then enough for this place and our every day needs answered Mr. Higurashi." "That’s great dear." "I get to choose my room first yelled Souta." "Not before me you brat." Kagome and Souta ran into the house and up the stairs in search of their new rooms.
