Kitsune walked behind everyone else, while they walked on. She watched the ground as she walked, mostly because she was a new addition to the group. She looked up. Miroku and Sango were walking together. She caught sight of Miroku's gaze and he smiled warmly at her.

Shippo who was riding on Kagome's shoulder looked back. Seeing that she looked lonely, he jumped down and ran over to Kitsune and jumped on her shoulder. " Hi." he said smiling. " You looked lonely." he smiled.

Kitsune smiled back. " thanks," she said. She then started talking to the little Fox Demon. " How did you get into this group?" she asked. Shippo explained how he was trying to avenge his father's death and how Inuyasha and Kagome helped him. " what about your mother?" she asked.

He frowned. "She died a long time ago." he said. " I was only living with my papa, when he was killed."

" So you were alone before you met Inuyasha and everyone?" she asked.
He nodded. " I see." she said.

" You're a fox demon like me right?" he asked.

" Well, half demon." She corrected. He touched her ears. " yes I know I have fox ears."

" Kitsune....can you be my mother?" he asked. Kitsune looked at him shocked.

" why me?" she asked. " Surely someone like Kagome or Sango could be a mother figure for you."

He pouted. " Because, you're at least closer to my species than them." he said. " you're part fox demon, I'm fox demon...." he stuck out his lower lip. " Please." he begged. " At least until Naraku is dead, and you leave." he said.

Kitsune sighed and she nodded. " alright." she said. " For now I'll be your mother." she slowly smiled when he grinned.

Shippo hugged her. She hugged back. " thank you Kitsune."

After about half a day walking, Kagome stopped abruptly. Inuyasha looked over at her.

" what is it Kagome?" he asked. Everyone else stopped to know what was going on.

" I sense Jewel shards comming." she said. Kitsune sniffed.

" I smell wolf." she said. Inuyasha growled.

" Not that idiot." he grumbled. " We don't need him now."

" Need who?" Kitsune asked." Who's comming."

"Kouga." everone said in unison, Kitsune exclude of course.

Kouga approached the group in a whirlwind. He stopped right before Kagome. " Hey Kagome." he grinned. Inuyasha growled.

" get away from her you dirty wolf." he sneered.

" Make me, you mutt." Kouga sneered right back.

Kitsune came up behind Miroku. " Who is this Kouga person?" She asked quietly to Miroku. He turned.

" He's the leader of the wolf clan for this area." he explained. " He has a crush on Kagome, but Inuyasha doesn't like him."

" I get that much." she said looking at Kouga. Kouga noticed her.

" A new addition?" He asked. He walked forward and looked at her. " Whats your name?"

" Kitsune." she said.

" Fox half breed eh?" he said. " Interesting. Where did you pick her up Inuyasha?"

" We didn't pick her up, she just joined to help defeat Naraku." Inuyasha explained. " Thats all."

" Hmm....yes well anyway...." he turned. " You being treated okay Kagome?" he asked. " If not you can always come with me and be my mate." he grinned. Inuyasha growled again.

" Over my dead body." he spat.

" That can be arranged." Kouga said back into Inuyasha's face.

" You want to fight mongrel?" Inuyasha said back.

" Bring it on puppy."

" Is this nessicary?" Kitsune asked. " I mean really...We're trying to find Naraku.....I want to find him and destroy him as soon as possible...I don't want to wait around for a fight between you too." she said.

" She's right Inuyasha." Kagome said. " please stop."

Inuyasha turned to look at Kitsune then to Kagome. " I didn't start it." He said.

" Don't pin it on me Mutt Face." he said. " I was just showing my concern for Kagome."

" Yeah and inviting her to me your mate." he snarled. " which she doesn't want." he said.

Kagome was getting mad. " Quit saying what I want or don't want." she seethed.

Inuyasha looked over. " are you saying you want to be his mate?" he asked.

" Of course not." she said. " but don't decide my life for me.." she said.

" That hurts that you don't want to be my mate." Kouga said in mock pain.

" stuff it.." Inuyasha said. " And go away."

" I'll go away when Kagome sends me away" Kouga said.

" Could you go for now?" Kagome asked. " we are on a mission."

Kouga looked at her shocked. " Oh...well..." he said not knowing what to say." I guess." he said then shot off in his tornado.
