Inuyasha couldn't think straight while he was so close to Kagome. All he could think about was her and what he had said eariler.
"I'll be back I'm going to go check on Azrael." Inuyasha said.
"Inuyasha...be nice to him okay. I think that trick Naraku pulled hurt him alot more than he's letting on." Kagome said choosing her words carefully.
*If Azrael didn't want us to know about his family it's not my place to tell them. It must be really hard for him to see them again.* Kagome thought. Inuyasha nodded as he hurridly left Kagome's presence. Miroku was talking to Sango and Shippo was playing with Kirara who had returned from being with Azrael.
*I wish we could talk about what happened eariler. I really want to know what he was going to say to me.*
Inuyasha followed Azrael's scent to the tree where he had 'talked' to Kagome. Azrael was sitting on a large rock formation just a few yards away from the tree.
"Hey Azrael you okay?" Inuyasha asked as he gazed at Azrael. Azrael had his right hand over his eyes and his left one was supporting his right arm.
"I'm fine Inuyasha. Just a bit...disturbed." Azrael said looking up with a small smile.
"I think we're about to leave. Look on the bright side, at least we know where Naraku is now." Inuyasha said trying to brighten the mood. Suddenly Inuyasha remembered the two people that were supposed to be Azrael's 'loved' ones.
"Hey Azrael who were those two people that Naraku brought up. Were they related to you?" Inuyasha asked bluntly. Azrael looked at Inuyasha with eye's filled with sadness, despair, hatred, and loneliness all wrapped into one.
"Yes, I was related to them. I notice you've yet to talk to Kagome about how you feel." Azrael said changing the subject.
"Well, I mean...there's nothing to tell her!" Inuyasha yelled defensively.
"Is that the reason you almost told her you loved her today?"
"H-how did you know that?"
"Give me some credit Inuyasha, I was hiding behind the tree when you were talking. I was hoping that you would finally be man enough to admit your feelings to her."
Inuyasha only looked towards the ground at this comment. For once he was without a come back. He really didn't know why he didn't tell her what he felt. In a way he was afraid that he would loose her like he did Kikyo, but also he was afraid that if he told her she'd return to her time and never come back.
"Inuyasha." Miroku called as he exited the wooded area with Kagoe, Sango, Shippo, and Kirara following in behind him.
"It looks as if there will be a storm tonight. If we leave now we will be able to get to the next village and possibly find shelter before it hits." Miroku said.
"In other words Miroku's going to perform another exorsism on the richest house there so we can spend the night there." Sango said with a disapproving look as she walked past him. "But still I'd rather be safe than sorry, so...."
SLAP!
"Miroku you PERVERT!" Sango yelled as she realized he was groping her butt. Miroku only smiled as he rubbed his right hand across the glowing red hand print caused by Sango.
"Ah to be in love." Kagome said lightly as she looked at Inuyasha, which made him turn away quickly to hide his blush.
"Well, we'd best get moving. The next town is going to be hard to get through." Azrael said.
"Why's that?"
"Because, their town is inhabited by a Succubus...a very rare and very powerful type of bat demon. It's absorbs the life force of it's foe, aging it drasitcally in a matter of minutes, doing this increases it's own strenght and lenghtens it's life. Not to mention it can take on many different forms so humans there don't trust anyone."
"Hmm, that might make things complicated then if they see Inuyasha and Shippo." Miroku said thoughtfully.
"Don't worry about me." Shippo said as he placed a leaf on is forehead. Suddenly with a loud 'poof' he changed forms to look like a normal human boy.
"That's awesome Shippo! You can't even see your tail anymore, you've really improved at that." Kagome said brightly as she looked him over.
"Here Inuyasha wear this, it'll help cover up your ears atleast." Azrael said as he handed Inuyasha his black cloak.
"I don't see why I have to wear that. They can obviously tell I'm not a succubus."
"Because Inuyasha we don't want to draw attention to ourselves. We don't know who might be keeping tabs on the village." Kagome said.
"Also we don't want to spill any human blood. The villagers will attack regardless of what kind of demon you are." Azrael said with such certainty it was as if he'd been there before.
"Fine fine I'll put the stupid thing on." Inuyasha grumbled as he slid the cloak on. Azrael fastened it in the front so Inuyasha's sword would be concealed. Inuyasha lifted the hood over his head so his ears wouldn't be seen. Also the sleeves were long enough to conceal his claws.
"Won't they question you about your sword?" Miroku asked noting that Azrael was trying to hide Inuyasha's.
"I doubt it. They should be able to tell I'm a demon slayer, and if they ask it's a well known fact that demon slayer's make their weapons from the bone's of demon's. Mine is no different." Azrael said. Kirara transformed and Sango and Miroku were about to get on her when Azrael stopped them.
"We don't need to have the villagers spooked by seeing Kirara flying in the air. The village is only about five miles from here so we should be okay walking."
"I guess your right. In that case we'd better hurry." Sango said noting the bad storm clouds gathering above them. With that the group headed to the next village.

Sesshomaru walked ahead of Rin and Jaken as he searched the destroyed village for any sign of life.
"Naraku must have done this." Sesshomaru said coldly.
"All those poor people." Rin stated in shock.
Sesshomaru didn't reply to that as he sensed a familiar presence. He looked towards the edge of the woods that connected to the village.
"What is it my Lord? Is something wrong?" Jaken inquired.
"Inuyasha..."Sesshomaru glared as the forms of six traveler's exited the woods.
"Hmm, it seems he's recruited another pathetic human to help him." Sesshomaru said.
It was then that Inuyasha noticed Sesshomaru and the other's for they were down wind from him.
"Sesshomaru..."Inuyasha growled as he launched himself towards Sesshomaru and landed right in front of him.
"What are you doing here?" Inuyasha asked.
"Do you really believe that I have to answer to one such as yourself." Sesshomaru said with a smugness that made Inuyasha want to rip out his throat.
By this time the other's had joined them. Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo all said 'HI' to Rin as she came to greet them.
"Are you the demon responsible for the destruction of this village?" Azrael asked.
"As much as I despise humans, no it wasn't me."
"So the Lord of the Western Plains isn't as evil as I've heard." Azrael said with a smirk noting the human girl now back at Sesshomaru's side.
"How would one such as yourself know my title?"
"I'm well traversed in demon life. It's part of my job, I am a demon slayer after all."
"Naraku was here..."Inuyasha said breaking into the conversation.
"How can you tell?" Sesshomaru asked. He was taken aback by the fact that Inuyasha would know when even Sesshomaru couldn't sense Naraku's pressence here.
"Look at this." Inuyasha said pointing to a dead human who was grasping a hooded figure of a baboon.
"So it was Naraku." Sesshomaru mused. Suddenly there was cries from the other's as Inuyasha, Azrael, and Sesshomaru all turn around to see what they had assumed was a dead body come back to life and grab Shippo (still in human disguise) and Rin. The dead human then took on the form of a demon with red skin, white hair, and glowing red eyes.
"Ha ha, thank you master for the wonderful gifts. I'm sure they will taste wonderful." the demon said looking at Inuyasha who was still wearing Azrael's cloak. Suddenly Sesshomaru's energy whip sliced the demon across the arm causing blood to spurt onto the ground. With a sneer the demon summoned a black aura surrounded him and he was gone.
"Rin!" Sesshomaru yelled in anger and shock.
"Shippo..." Inuyasha said. "Damn it! That was the damn succubus. Now how are we going to get them!"
"I know the way to the succubus's cave." Azrael said with a downcast face.
"Well then take us there." Inuyasha declared.
"Fine, but be warned a succubus is very powerful, also he has the power to create enormous barriers."
"I don't care let's just go." Inuyasha said as the group started off. Sango and Miroku jumped on Kirara who transfomred and flew into the air.
"Heh, wait. You don't really expect me to leave Rin's life in the hands of idiot's like you." Sesshomaru said as he looked Inuyasha in the eyes.
"Fine, truce for now Sesshomaru." Inuyasha said hurriedly as he held out his hand. He had no idea why he was agreeing to this, or why Sesshomaru was even suggesting it.
"Fine." Sesshomaru said as he grasped his brother's hand in a firm handshake and they headed off, led by Azrael.
"Master Sesshomaru wait for me!" Jaken yelled as he pulled Ah-Un along with him.
"I'll be back I'm going to go check on Azrael." Inuyasha said.
