Sesshomaru couldn't believe that someone as the Lord of the Bat Demon's who's power and status were legendary would willingly reduce himself to the form he saw before him. Azrael leaned against the far wall as he looked towards the ground. He knew full well that he had betrayed everyone's trust, and that they would undoubtably not want him around them anymore.
"Azrael?" Kagome asked as he peered up at her. He seemed shocked that she would even speak to him after him lying to her. "Are you coming?"
Those words hit Azrael hard as he looked at everyone starring at him. Evidently they were wanting to go, but still they wouldn't leave without him.
"You mean...you still want me to go with you guys?" Azrael said as he looked on in shock.
"Well, yeah. Why wouldn't we?" Kagome asked.
"Azrael, we all have our secrets and our dark sides. Yours are no different from ours. Besides, I think you've helped us out enough that trusting you is the least we can do." Shippo said smiling.
"Heh, besides at the very least your a strong fighter." Inuyasha complimented. "Better than these guys anyway." With that Inuyasha pointed towards Bankotsu and Koga.
"Watch it mutt!" Koga warned as he stood up.
"You want to say something to be." Inuyasha retorted.
"Silence both of you!" Sesshomaru yelled. "We have no need for this. The time has come. We must now go to the Valley of Death."
"He's right. The time Naraku told Kikyo to come is almost up. We must hurry." Miroku stated.
"Azrael come on. I want to see how fast you really are now that you don't have to hide your demonic powers." Inuyasha said with a smirk as Kagome got on his back.
"Heh, fine, but don't say anything when I leave you in the dust." Azrael countered as he lead them back through the cave. When they exited the cave they saw that sun was beginning to rise. Azrael stopped for a second as he placed back on his cloak.
"That's something I've been meaning to ask you. Why do you always have on your cloak during the daytime?" Shippo asked.
"That's because I'm a bat demon by birth and the sun greatly weakens me. Normally it wouldn't but since I've given up so much of my demonic power I no longer have the strenght to negate this effect. Hence the reason I have this special cloak to protect me from it." Azrael said with a smile.
"What's so special about it? It looks like a regular cloak to me." Bankotsu said.
"It's made from the fur of the moon wolf. Surely you must know about them Koga." Azrael said as he turned to look at Koga and Ayame.
"Whoa, you've seen a moon wolf!" Koga exclaimed.
"Remember, I am older than I appear. Though now a days there are no moon wolves left, but yes I have seen them. Back when their father was alive they were quite common actually. But eventually demon slayers began killing them due to their ability of transformation...Lycanthropy they called it. It seems you have some of their blood running through your veins as well."
"Okay now I'm lost...but what's a moon wolf. I mean I've never heard my father mention them before and he told me about all types of demons." Sango asked.
"Moon wolves were the greatest of all breeds of wolf demons. They had the ability to mask their presence from demons and humans alike. They were extremely powerful and no human weapon could penetrate their fur." Ayame said.
"Well then how were they wiped out if humans couldn't kill them." Kagome asked.
"Demon slayers were formed and began using weapons made out of demons bones to strike the wolves down." Koga said.
After walking the rest of the way in silence the group found themselves at the base of a deserted village.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is the place." Koga said as he looked at the destroyed houses. Beyond the village the form of giant mountain walls could be made out.
"I can sense that demonic aura from here. It's immense." Kagome said warily.
"Wait...it can't be." Inuyasha said as he and Sesshomaru exchanged glances. Suddenly before them stood Naraku.
"Heh, look at this. The whole crowd's come to die at once. How wonderful." Naraku said as he looked at everyone before him. Naraku was even cockier than usual as he walked towards them.
"Kagome get back. Miroku, Sango you to." Inuyasha ordered.
"Rin, you and Jaken go stand by the others." Sesshomaru said also as he, Inuyasha, Bankotsu, Koga, Ayame, Azrael, and even Shippo stood before Naraku.
"I'm really hoping I'm wrong, but please tell me that demonic aura's not what I think it is." Azrael exclaimed as he looked at Naraku. "Because your father nearly wiped me out with that, and I really don't want to see it again."
"Hmm, I see. So it is that." Sesshomaru thoughtfully announced.
"Ah great. We had enough trouble the first time with it. Now he has it! How the hell did he bring it back anyways?" Inuyasha asked.
"He's learned Necromancy remember. Necromancer's can bring back things from Hell." Sesshomaru said as he looked straight ahead.
"Well, it seems you've already met my new friend before. But just in case you've forgotten him...here's a little reminder." with that Naraku raised his right arm and a sword appeared out of nowhere. "Now Sounga, Dragon Twister!"
A powerful vortex of energy ripped through the air as the surrounding area was decimated and all of Japan shook from the massive power that was released.
"Azrael?" Kagome asked as he peered up at her. He seemed shocked that she would even speak to him after him lying to her. "Are you coming?"
