A New Life

 

Sesshoumaru woke from his deep sleep in a cold sweat only to be lulled back to sleep by the alluring scent of Kagome.

 

This time the sleep was dreamless and he was grateful for it. When morning came he awoke before the sky had lit up except on sign of a sun.

 

`My nightmare a sunless wasteland.'

 

He was brought from his musings when a knock came from behind his door.

 

“You may enter.” He said turning slightly to the door.

 

“Ah milord it is good to see you dressed and awake.” Said the entity entering slightly.

 

“Yes and what is the meaning of your visit.” He questioned emotionlessly.

 

“Well milord I came to see if you are ready to continue our journey and if you need and from of sustenance.

 

“I am dead am I not? Why would I need food.” He said coldly.

 

“Yes well, do you wish to continue?” said his other self.

 

“Yes I would like to continue.” He said following him to the front of the castle.

 

Upon arriving they bid farewell to those at the castle, at least the entity did. This wasn't a place for Sesshoumaru his place was with his chosen mate as long as he lived. Their journey was relatively silent until the being started a conversation.

 

“Excuse me milord, but did find out about Kagome or your death?” the entity questioned.

 

“Even if I did it would be none of you business.” He said staring off into the distance.

 

“ You do not have to hid you feelings from me milord if you do not tell me or emote them when alive again you will surly end up here again or in hell.”

 

“Do not tell me what to do being.” He said daring it to test him.

 

“As you wish milord but be warned. History has a thing for repeating itself.”

 

Sesshoumaru didn't say anything. He knew what the being said was true but he could not accept it. If had been brought back to again there would be no point in living. No there would be a reason to live. To live for his and Kagome's happiness.

 

“Being.” He started to get his attention.

 

“Yes.” He answered.

 

“The truth is that I have found out about my death and my…feelings for the miko.” He said.

 

“You aren't ashamed of this, are you lord Sesshoumaru?” he asked.

 

Sesshoumaru sent him a growl warning him not to push him.

 

“I had a dream.” He said simply.

 

“It was about her and your death?” he asked.

 

“Yes it was.” He answered.

 

“She said she loved you.”

 

“No, she was there with me in my last moments.”

 

“You told her you love her and you still do don't you?”

 

“How can I not. She was the only person I ever loved and I know she still loves me.” He said his façade breaking slowly.

 

“Milord your new life awakes you and so does your mate.”

 

“She is not my mate and I regret that.” He said painfully.

 

“She is Sesshoumaru, she loves you and you love her you have a bond and she will never belong to another other than you and you only.”

 

“You would know this being you have your mate. You have all that your heart desires. I do not.” He said blankly.

 

“Sesshoumaru if it weren't for your ambitions you would never have gotten a second chance at life.”

 

“You speak the truth Being and for that I am grateful. Thank you.” He said.

 

“I am only doing my job milord, your thanks are not need but greatly appreciated.” The being said bowing slightly.

 

“Being tell me will I know her when I see her?” he asked.

 

“No. Not immediately you will need to regain parts of you demon subconscious and she will not remember you as a human only in your demon form she will.”

 

“How long will it take for me to regain myself?” he questioned.

 

“It depends. Months. Years. Decades.” He responded.

 

“She will be an old women if it takes that long.” He snapped.

 

“You will be surprised when you see her. Because when you love someone age is just a number.”

 

“When you are a human you have a life span that is worth a blink of an eye to a youkai even if I love her I could not bear her death before mine I would follow her to the gates of heaven or hell.” He said discarding his broken façade.

 

“Milord if this is so you will not be disappointed when you see her if I may say you will be quite surprised.” He said with a slight smile.

 

“Yes. I have no regrets thus far and I would do it all in a heart beat if only to protect her.” He said earnestly.

 

“Lord Sesshoumaru there is one more matter of business we must speak of.” The being interrupted.

 

“Yes what is it?” He asked.

 

“The young one Rin will be one of your greatest challenges for she has almost given up on life after your death, if not for Kagome Rin my have killed herself to be with you.”

 

“She will not be disappointed when I return I shall regain her trust and her faith in life.” He claimed.

 

“Most admiral milord.” He said staring off at the upcoming hole in this nightmare.

 

“Milord you are sure you are ready for this?” he hesitantly asked.

 

“Yes those who love me await me on the other side.”

 

“Yes they are.” He silently said stopping in front of the void.

 

“Milord I wish you the best of luck to you and your mate.” He said giving him a silent prayer before he walked silently into the void.

 

“For your sake and mine milord, the best of luck.
