Bound

I can't even think right now
Something's got me feeling guilty
Hurt you slowly but so surely
I don't know why, love you so much
I can't feel because I'm lost
Not to much matters no more
Is it you, is it me, is it us or is it trust?
Or is it trust?

"Where did you sleep?" Kagome asked.
"Against the wall." Inuyasha said.
"You can sleep anywhere can't you?" Kagome asked.
"It doesn't take much to get comfortable."
"It does for me."
"How would you know you've been using me as a bed until last night."
Miroku walked into the room and stood in front of them. "I'm ready whenever you two are." He said.
"I'm ready." Kagome stood.
"Yeah let's go already." Inuyasha said.
They all gathered their things and started leaving the village. The villagers waved goodbye to Miroku as they left. "You seem very popular Miroku." Kagome said as she noticed all the people calling his name.
"I got to know many people while I stayed here."
"Seems like you went after the women." Inuyasha said as he noticed blushing women waving at Miroku.
"I can't help it if the ladies like me." Miroku smiled. "I'll miss this village."
"Is there a reason you seek a child so desperately?" Kagome asked. "I highly doubt you ask every woman you see to bear your child."
"No, I only ask the most beautiful women to bear my child. Why I want an heir will be revealed in time when we get to my village." Miroku explained.
"Okay." Kagome blushed as she heard his comment. She wasn't used to such flattery.
Inuyasha growled at the monk but kept walking. "Have I upset you in any way?" Miroku asked him.
"What do you mean?" Inuyasha asked roughly.
"You're growling." Miroku said.
"Just shut up." Inuyasha mumbled. "Are you straining your leg? Let me know if it starts to hurt."
"I'm fine Inuyasha. I'm not pushing myself." Kagome said.
"If you push your leg too far then you'll just be damaging it even more." Inuyasha said.
"He is right. One of us can carry you if you get tired or if it starts to bother you. I wouldn't mind carrying you and I'm sure Inuyasha doesn't mind either." Miroku offered.
"Hai, I'll be sure to let you know. Arigato for your offer." Kagome smiled.
"Of course. I can't leave such a beautiful woman in distress." Miroku smiled.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes and quickened his pace. He was not going to like traveling with the monk, especially if he's going to keep complementing Kagome. What if she starts to warm up to him and likes him a lot? Why did he care?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two days later as Miroku predicted, they reached his village. Inuyasha carried Kagome whenever she was too tired to walk or her leg hurt, which wasn't too often now. He refused to let the monk carry her after his wandering hands kept caressing her rear. At night Miroku slept on a futon on the ground and Kagome slept in Inuyasha's lap on a tree branch. He insisted and said it was for her protection.
"We're here." Miroku said. "If I remember one of the images I saw was of Otou-san's grave."
"You remember your Otou-san? I thought you woke up not remembering anything." Inuyasha asked confused.
"I didn't but when Mushin found me he recognized me as the boy he used to take care of when Otou-san went away to conduct business. He was also a monk." Miroku explained. "Let's visit the old man."
Kagome and Inuyasha followed Miroku through a small village. There wasn't anyone outside. There passed three huts and a temple. Once the huts were out of sight they stopped at a large field. In front of them on the ground was a large hole with a tombstone in the middle. Grass had already grown over the hole.
"This is your Otou-san's grave?" Kagome asked.
Miroku nodded and turned around to face them. He held up his right hand and looked at it. "Long ago my grandfather traveled and during one of his travels came upon a woman. She was in need of help and he offered his services to her. He was also a monk. He was tricked. After being led to an empty castle the woman changed shape into a man and shot his right hand. `I put upon you a curse.' The man said. `A wind tunnel will form and suck in everything around you. It will eventually consume you. It will pass on to all males generation after generation. The only way to lift the curse is to kill me.' And the man left."
"So you have the wind tunnel in your hand?" Kagome asked.
"I am able to seal it as long as I have this cloth covering it. I fear my time may be coming to an end soon. That is why I so desperately seek an heir, so if die before the curse is lifted then I will have a son to find the man who cursed our family." Miroku explained.
"Do you have any clues to who it was?" Kagome asked.
"I was told that it was a youkai named Naraku." Miroku said. "I'm not sure if there is any truth in what I've been told. Mushin explained everything to me after my hand was sealed. I don't think he lied so I believe his words."
"That's so horrible." Kagome said. What could be so important about their pasts that its ruining people's lives now? Inuyasha was woken from being sealed to a tree. Miroku was found almost dead and told about his horrible past. And Kagome found out that what she knew was her life was a lie.
"Shouldn't we have seen something by now?" Inuyasha asked.
"Maybe it takes time. Or we're in the wrong place." Kagome said.
"Well when I saw the image it seemed like it was dark out. Maybe we have to wait until later tonight." Miroku suggested.
"I guess but what do we do until then?" Kagome asked.
"We can stay with Mushin." Miroku said.
"Is it okay? To stay with him without any warning?" Kagome asked.
"Hai, Mushin is...a retired monk. He spends most of his time drinking. I'll be surprised if he notices we're there."
Inuyasha and Kagome followed Miroku to Mushin's hut. It wasn't far from the grave sight. When they were in sight of the hut Inuyasha smelled the heavy scent of alcohol. He could also smell who he assumed to be Mushin in the hut.
They walked inside to find a man in green monk robes on the floor. Miroku walked up to him and kicked his side. "Mushin, wake up you drunk!" Miroku shouted.
Mushin mumbled before rolling over to face Miroku. "Ah Miroku back so soon?" He asked.
"What do you mean back so soon? I've been gone for months." Miroku said.
"It seems like just yesterday you left." Mushin said. "Who are your friends?"
"This is Kagome and Inuyasha." Miroku said. "We need to stay here for a while to figure something out."
"Nice to meet you Kagome-sama, Inuyasha-sama. Stay as long as you'd like." Mushin said.
"Arigato Mushin-sama." Kagome bowed.
"No problem. I'll be sleeping in my room." Mushin said and walked to a room in the back.
"We can stay the night here but there's only one room." Miroku headed for the extra room.
"We all have to share the same room?" Inuyasha asked. He didn't mind. He just didn't want Kagome in the same room with Miroku.
"Hai, we have plenty of futons." Miroku said.
"I don't mind sharing a room." Kagome said.
"We should all eat now before it gets too late. Later we can look at the grave again." Miroku said.
"I can cook if you have some food around." Kagome said.
"Mushin should have some food. Follow me." Miroku walked into the front room. He grabbed a basket of food from a corner and placed it next to the fire pit. "I'll go gather some wood. Inuyasha could you start a fire with the wood we have?"
"Yeah." Inuyasha said and sat down next to Kagome.
"Do you not like Miroku?" Kagome asked as soon as he left.
"Why?" Inuyasha asked.
"It just seems like you don't like him. You growl at him a lot and give him looks." Kagome said.
"I have my reasons." Inuyasha crossed his arms in his sleeves once the fire got going.
"What reasons?" Kagome asked.
"It's nothing."
"Tell me." Kagome urged.
"You don't need to know." Inuyasha said.
"Then why don't you just sit-" Kagome started to say but stopped when Inuyasha was suddenly face down on the floor. "Inuyasha are you alright?"
"What the hell?" Inuyasha yelled as he tried to get up. An invisible force was keeping him down on the ground. After a couple of seconds he was able to get up.
"Inuyasha what happened?" Kagome asked.
"I don't know. You were talking and I was pulled to the ground." Inuyasha said.
"All I said was to sit-"
Inuyasha was once again pulled down to the ground and Kagome noticed the rosary glowing. "What the hell?" Inuyasha yelled again.
"I think it has something to do with the rosary." Kagome said. "I saw it glowing."
"What is Inuyasha doing on the ground?" Miroku asked as he walked in and set the wood down.
"I don't know I kept trying to talk and Inuyasha fell down on the ground like he is now. I noticed the rosary glowed when he fell." Kagome explained.
Inuyasha sat up and tried to pull the rosary off. "What the fuck? It won't come off!" He yelled.
"What kind of rosary is it?" Miroku asked.
"I don't know Okaa-san gave it to me and said it was in my hand when she found me. I gave it to Inuyasha a while ago." Kagome said.
"It seems to be enchanted." Miroku said.
"Enchanted?" Both Inuyasha and Kagome said at the same time.
"The rosary subdues you and pulls you to the ground." Miroku explained. "A word must activate it. What did you say?"
"All I said was to sit-" Kagome started to say again but stopped when Inuyasha plummeted to the ground. "Inuyasha!"
"Dammit!" Inuyasha cursed.
"I think the word is sit." Miroku said. "It doesn't work when I use it though. Since Kagome gave you the rosary she must've bounded you to her. When she says the word you will be subdued."
"So you mean when I say sit-" Inuyasha fell to the ground again. "I'm so sorry Inuyasha."
"Dammit!" Inuyasha said. "Will you quit saying that already!"
"Gomen, I don't mean to. It's such a common word." Kagome said.
"It's funny that the word is `sit' and you are half inu youkai." Miroku laughed.
"Why you-"
"Sit." Kagome shouted.
"I thought you were going to stop saying that!" Inuyasha yelled trying to keep himself up.
"You were going to hit Miroku." Kagome said.
"Once this spell wears off I'm going to get both of you. By the time you say sit again I'll have already gotten both of you." Inuyasha yelled.
Kagome thought about it and knew he was right. A second before he was able to get up he felt a weight on his back. "What the hell are you doing?" Inuyasha yelled.
"You threatened to hurt Miroku when you got up so I'm not letting you get up." Kagome explained while she sat on his back.
"I could get up right now." Inuyasha said.
"You wouldn't. You won't hurt me and if I fall I'll get hurt." Kagome said.
"You would not. You aren't that high up." Inuyasha said.
"You can still hurt me." Kagome moved a little to get more comfortable.
"I'm going to talk to Mushin for a while. Feel free to go to sleep if I don't get back by nightfall. I'm going to meditate afterwards at the waterfall." Miroku said. He stood up and left.
Another chapter done. Hope you like it. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
Just to let you know I won't be updating regularly on this fic. This is just to pass time and have something to write when I have writer's block. So don't expect updates regularly.
At the beginning and end of each chapter is a part of a song that I like. The songs really mean a lot to me. The lyrics are really good.
Thanks to my puppy slave for editing. Thanks readers and reviewers. Thanks especially to those who have stuck with my stories so far!
