Disbelief

Keep the noise low.
She doesn't wanna blow it.
Shaking head to toe
while your left hand does "the show me around."
Quickens your heartbeat.
It beats me straight into the ground.
You don't recover from a night like this.
A victim, still lying in bed, completely motionless.
A hand moves in the dark to a zipper.
Hear a boy bracing tight against sheets
barely whisper, "This is so messed up."
Upon arrival the guests had all stared.
Dripping wet and clearly depressed,
he'd headed straight for the stairs.
No longer cool, but a boy in a stitch,
unprepared for a life full of lies and failing relationships.

Before anyone could say anything Miroku was in front of the girl. He clasped her hands in his and was bent down on one knee. He looked into her eyes and said, "Will you do me the honor of bearing my child?"
All of the villagers knew what was coming and waited for the girl's reaction. The girl turned red in anger and raised her hand to slap the monk. Miroku held his cheek in shock and then grinned. He liked her reaction.
"What the hell kind of question is that?" The girl screamed.
"You'd better pull Miroku back. I think that girl is going to kill him." Kagome whispered to Inuyasha.
"Damn monk can't control himself." Inuyasha mumbled as he dragged the monk away by his robes.
"Gomen, he doesn't know how to control himself." Kagome apologized for the shocked Miroku.
"I should be the one apologizing. My little brother and I were practicing. He's nervous. Tonight will be his first slayer job." The girl said.
"It's alrig-"
"No, it's not! They could've killed you!" Inuyasha interrupted.
"Sit." Kagome said as she took a deep breath. She hated to do that in public but it was the only way to get him to stop.
"What the hell did you do that for?" Inuyasha growled as he tried to get up.
"Calm down. At least she apologized." Kagome said. She turned back to the girl and smiled. "Excuse him. Could we finish this conversation in private?"
The girl looked around and noticed every villager was listening to their conversation. "Follow me." The girl said and headed back the way she came.
Kagome waited for Inuyasha to stand before following the female slayer. They walked past the villagers towards the back of the village. Bored because the strangers were leaving the villagers went back to what they were doing before they arrived.
Near the back of the village was a hut. The girl walked inside and gestured the others to follow her in. Once inside a small neko with two tails growled and transformed in front of them. Flames engulfed her body and seemed to explode into a bigger fire. As the flames died down a much larger neko stood in front of them.
"It's alright Kirara. They're guests." The slayers said. She pet the neko and turned to the group. "This is Kirara."
"I've never seen anything like her." Kagome said in awe.
"She's a nekomata." The girl said.
"Oh. My name is Kagome, this is Inuyasha and the houshi is Miroku." Kagome introduced everyone.
"My name is Sango." The girl said.
"Are you the only female slayer in the village?" Miroku asked seriously.
"Hai." Sango said.
"You must've trained hard to gain your position." Miroku said. "It's very rare for a woman to do a man's job."
"I did work hard and if you have a problem with it then you can leave." Sango snapped.
"I assure you I don't have any problem." Miroku held up his hands in defense.
"Sango is one of the strongest slayers in this village." A villager said as he walked in.
"This is the village chief and my Otou-san, Yoshiyuki." Sango introduced.
"I couldn't help but see what was going on earlier. My apologies. The villagers are very defensive when a youkai comes around." Yoshiyuki said.
"It's alright." Kagome said.
"What brings you to this village? I highly doubt it's to hire us." Yoshiyuki said as he looked at Inuyasha.
"We're not sure ourselves." Miroku laid his staff on the ground in front of him and crossed his arms. "It seems that fate has led us to this village. It seems we have some business with your daughter."
"I hope your not going to ask for her to bear your children again. I don't think this time she'll let you off with a slap." The chief said as he sat down next to Sango.
"Of course not." Miroku said nervously. "Our situation is hard to explain and I think we'd rather discuss this with her alone if you don't mind."
Sango nodded and the chief left the hut. "What is it you want? I'm hoping it's not to bear your children." Sango said as she glared daggers at the monk.
"I knew we should've left him at camp." Inuyasha rolled his eyes.
"Well..." Kagome began.
~~~~~~~~~
"I see. That's a lot to take in. I'm involved in this how?" Sango asked.
"Well the last images we saw were of your weapon." Kagome said.
"This?" Sango said and brought it into her lap. "This is hiraikotsu."
"Hai, usually in our images when we see something it leads us to the next step." Kagome said hoping it would make sense.
"My hiraikotsu will lead you to the next step?" Sango looked at them skeptically. "What exactly are you doing?"
"We're not sure ourselves. As we explained earlier it was kind of sprung on us." Miroku said.
"So what is it you need?" Sango said.
"Well, it's a weird request..." Kagome trailed off.
"Basically we need to touch it to see if anything happens." Inuyasha blurted out. Better to be blunt.
"Are you serious?" Sango snapped. She stood quickly with the weapon in hand. "You strangers come in and request something like that! Why should I believe you?"
"We're not lying!" Kagome stood. "I understand that this is unbelievable but it's true."
"Kagome's not much of a liar anyway." Inuyasha crossed his arms.
"Hey!" Kagome shouted. "Please at least thi..."
Kagome's vision wavered and she fell into Inuyasha's lap. "Kagome! Kagome!" Inuyasha shouted as he shook her gently. "Dammit not again."
Sango ran towards the back of the hut. She dipped a bowl into a bucket of water and grabbed a cloth. She walked back over to Kagome and sat down. She dipped the cloth into the water and handed it to Inuyasha. He gently dabbed her forehead with the wet cloth.
"This has happened before?" Sango asked. "Is there something wrong with her?"
"No, there's nothing physically wrong with her." Miroku said. "It does happen often from what I know."
Sango looked at Miroku and saw he was telling the truth. The worry in his face was something that couldn't be faked. "She can lay on the futon over there." Sango pointed to the corner.
Everyone sat quietly not knowing what to say. Sango didn't know whether to believe their story or not. Why would they lie about something so weird anyway? What would they gain by lying to her? They were in a village full of slayers.
Inuyasha watched as Kagome slept. It looked like she was having a nightmare. She was turning her head from side to side and she was starting to sweat lightly. Suddenly she rose in a fluid motion.
"What the hell?" Inuyasha said getting Miroku and Sango's attention.
Kagome's eyes opened slightly and they were blank like before when this had happened. Her hair swayed from side to side but there was no breeze to make it move. She sat on her knees and her hands were folded in her lap.
Her head tilted as she spoke, "Awaken." She said. Her voice was the same as before when someone else spoke through her.
"What the hell is going on?" Sango yelled as she stood with her weapon.
Inuyasha stood in front of her stopping her from any attacks she might've tried. "Let her speak. It's the only way to figure out what we're doing." Inuyasha said seriously.
Sango backed down but still kept her weapon ready. "Fine but if anything happens I will attack." She narrowed her eyes at Kagome.
"Tajiya, houshi, hanyou, and miko, you all share a destiny. You must fulfill your duties. Your memories were lost long ago in an accident. A new enemy is aware of your awakenings. The enemy will not take action now. Beware. As your memories come back the enemy takes on step to finally destroying you all." Kagome said.
"Who are you and what destiny are you talking about?" Inuyasha asked.
"It's hard to fulfill a destiny we know nothing about." Miroku said.
"Protect the miko. She holds something precious. If it were to fall into the hands of evil the world as we know it will end. Tajiya you still doubt the words of your allies. Your strength and skills are needed. You also have missing memories. Travel together and find the missing pieces."
"Travel where?" Sango asked. She was starting to believe their story.
"Who are you?" Inuyasha asked. "Why is thi-"
Kagome raised her hand and stopped Inuyasha from going any further. Her hand glowed and images ran through everyone's head. Kagome's body fell to the ground and the voice echoed throughout the hut, "Remember to protect the miko. Find your memories. Awaken."
Everyone fell to their knees. Sango used her hiraikotsu to support her. "What the hell just happened?" Sango asked holding her head.
"We told you stuff like this was happening." Miroku said.
"Believe us now?" Inuyasha asked. He made his way over to Kagome and laid her back down on the futon. He pulled the blanket over her and wiped the sweat from her face.
"Will you come with us?" Miroku asked. "I'm sure you'll need time to think about it. It does seem like your involved."
Sango nodded. "I'll think about it. I'll come back when I've made my decision. If you need anything find me and let me know." Sango walked out of the hut.
"Think she'll come?" Inuyasha asked.
"I don't know." Miroku shrugged. He would like a female companion that wasn't already claimed. He smiled and sat down against the wall.
"What are you smiling about?" Inuyasha asked.
"Oh nothing." Miroku said.
Inuyasha shook his head and went back to attending to Kagome.
~~~~~
Kagome awoke to darkness. Looking around she couldn't see a thing but her own body, which was odd because she shouldn't be able to see herself in the darkness. `A dream?' She wondered.
She shielded her eyes as a bright light consumed her. When she lowered her arms she was still in the darkness. In front of her was a bright outline of a female body. She didn't know who it was. She could only tell it was female.
"Ano..." Kagome said.
The female flew over to her and grabbed her chin. "Take care of yourself. You hold something precious inside of you. When the time comes it will reveal itself. Until then unlock the memories you so long ago repressed. You have much power. Use it to protect your friends." The female said. She put her hand over Kagome's heart and disappeared.
Kagome felt her heart warm as if something was...released from deep inside of her. She then saw herself disappear.
Gasping Kagome sat up on the futon. She looked at her hands and saw that they were there. She wasn't disappearing anymore. Just as she thought it was a dream. She looked around and saw Inuyasha and Miroku in the hut. They looked at her strangely.
"What's wrong?" Kagome asked. "Where's Sango?"
Inuyasha and Miroku explained what had happened. "I see." Kagome.
"Inuyasha do you sense that?" Miroku asked.
"That Kagome is a miko?" Inuyasha asked.
"Hai." Miroku nodded. "Her powers must've awakened."
Before Kagome could explain her dream Sango walked into the hut.
"I've made my decision." She said.

How do I turn back from where I've gone wrong
How do I keep from each tear that falls
Wont' there be someone to guide me through it all
I'm not going to fall down
I'm solid and strong I'm moving on
I will move on and with someone beside me
Someone to talk to someone to guide me
With ease I will walk out the way you were beared to
No body wants to play by the rules
I seen the faces denied I know you cheated and lied
Its okay though I know I'm strong enough I know that I'll pull through
And I'm not going to sit thinking who's right or wrong
Now I'm better than that I'm going to fight I'm going to move on
So much drama messing with my head
When your lied or tricked living in regret
Your feeling all my pain resent my deepest thoughts
Trying to get everyone to turn their backs on me
(Korean)
How do I turn back from where I've gone wrong
How do I keep from each tear that falls
Wont' there be someone to guide me through it all
I'm not going to fall down
I'm solid and strong I'm moving on
I'm just waiting for the day when the world around me starts to change
I'm looking forward to the day when there'll be a smile on every face
I'm just waiting for the day when the sun will once again turn my way
I'm crying I'm praying for my soul to be saved
Yo I'm tired of this can't take it
I'm sick of your lies your fakeness
After all you've done you think I'll fall
You know what
I learn from my mistakes
Took a while to realize you were a fake
Now I'm good I'm through with you
Put my like back in the right place
Should've known you would've abused me
Should've known never to mess with me
Now its cool its over now
And I ain't going to hit this no
I will move on and
Someone to talk to
Someone I thought I found in you

This is a Korean song. I didn't romanize the Korean part or anything. If you like Korean music you should listen to this group. I love them. It's two girls. One of them vocalizes a lot and the other raps. They sing Korean but a lot of their songs have English in them.

Sorry I've took so long to update. I've had some writer's block and school is really taking a lot out of me. I'm not officially off my break but hopefully I'll be able to update a little more often than I have been lately. I finally got a chance to write this chapter because I'm at home sick. Not even two weeks of school and I'm already missing a day of school. I also missed two periods yesterday. Ugh I'm starting off badly already. Well hope you like this chapter. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
Thanks to readers and reviewers.
