Chapter 10

A Face

The group woke early in the morning to the sound of rain. They hadn't planned on rain so they had to wait for it to stop. It was raining to so hard they couldn't see two feet in front of them.

The rain finally died down later in the afternoon. The group quickly ran to the mountain area in case it started to rain again. "So shall we go in?" Miroku asked.

"We didn't come all the way here for nothing." Inuyasha said.

"Let's go in then." Kagome said as she walked in. Inuyasha walked faster to catch up with her. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder to keep her close.

"I can't help but notice those two are close." Sango whispered to Miroku. They were a little behind the two.

"They are very close. They haven't known each other for long but they are always together." Miroku explained.

"How long have they known each other?" Sango asked, curious about her new companions.

"About a week or two." Miroku said.

"What?" Sango said aloud. She covered her mouth when both Inuyasha and Kagome looked her way. She shook her head to signal that nothing was wrong. Inuyasha and Kagome looked at each other before they started walking again.

"Only that long?" Sango asked quietly this time.

"Hai." Miroku said. "It's not that unusual. I've just met them a couple days ago myself but it seems I've known them for a long time. I've just met you yesterday and it's the same with you."

"This had better not be some lie to grope me." Sango glared at the monk.

"Of course not. I would never stoop so low. I am a monk after all." Miroku said innocently.

"Right." Sango rolled her eyes.

As they walked further into the cave it got darker and darker. Soon enough there was only darkness. Inuyasha was the only one who could see good enough to make out who his companions were.

Kagome clung to his arm in fear of being separated from him. They were all huddled together trying to think of something to do.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome shouted.

"What?" Inuyasha asked.

"Your hand." Kagome said as she silently thanked the darkness for covering her blush.

"What about my hand?" Inuyasha asked.

"It's somewhere it shouldn't be." Kagome said a little irritated she had to say it aloud.

"My hands are right here." Inuyasha put his hands on her shoulder so she could tell. Then he got it. "That's it monk your dead!"

"Gomen, gomen, I thought she was Sango." Miroku said stupidly.

"What?" Sango shouted.

"Can we find a way out of the darkness first?" Kagome asked aloud stopping everyone in their beating of Miroku. Inuyasha was going to hit Miroku even while Kagome was hanging onto his arm.

"I don't see any other way out." Inuyasha said. "I can't even see the way we came in."

"What do we do now?" Kagome asked.

Suddenly the cave lit up. Torches that were hanging on the wall were suddenly lit with flames. "What's going on?" Sango shouted.

Kirara hissed and changed into her larger fire form. "There's where we came from. Seems as though this is a dead end." Miroku pointed.

They all headed for the exit. Seems as though nothing was going to happen. "Inuyasha?" Kagome called out to him.

The group turned around and saw a black cloud covering Kagome. "What are you doing get over here!" Inuyasha shouted.

"I can't move!" Kagome shouted as the cloud covered her waist and lower.

Inuyasha ran over to Kagome but was pushed back by the cloud. It spread out in front of Kagome and formed a shield. Kagome's legs were numb but she was still standing. She couldn't move or anything.

"Kagome!" Inuyasha shouted as the cloud took the rest of her. Suddenly the cloud burst and Kagome was gone. "What the fuck?"

Kagome moaned before opening her eyes. Her legs still felt numb. She was able to sit up on her arms. She looked around and assumed she was still in the cave. She was laying on a futon.

Looking around a little more Kagome noticed that the area she was in was cut off. There was no opening anywhere. How did she get there? She looked around again and saw an area I the wall where it looked like someone put a boulder to block the exit.

She hoped Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango were okay. The feelings in her legs were starting to come back and she tried to stand. A little wobbly but with the help of the nearby walls she was able to stand.

She was about to walk over to the boulder to see if it would budge at all but someone was already moving it. She fell to the ground and waited to see what was coming. A man wearing a long black robe entered the area.

The man was someone knew to Kagome. He had long black hair and his face was emotionless for the moment. Kagome backed up against the wall as he moved closer towards her.

"Well I haven't seen you in a long time." The man said as he looked Kagome up and down. "The numbness in your legs should go away in about an hour or so."

Kagome shivered at the man's voice. It was deep and cold. "Who are you?" She asked trying not to show any fear.

"So it's true you don't remember." The man said. "To refresh your memory, my name is Naraku."

"Naraku?" Kagome whispered. Something about that name bothered her.

"That's me. I remember you when you were younger. I haven't seen you in years. I thought you died after the fight." Naraku said.

"Fight?" Kagome asked. "I don't remember anything. I don't know who you are."

"I knew you long ago. I was your close friend." Naraku explained.

"What happened? I don't remember anything." Kagome asked.

"Well..." Naraku trailed off.

"Kagome!"

"Inuyasha?" Kagome said.

"Kagome don't move!" Inuyasha shouted.

"I'll leave for now." Naraku said. He took her hands in his. "Don't say anything about me. I'll come back for you."

"What?" Kagome asked.

Naraku moved closer to her and gently kissed her on the lips. "Remember me." He said before disappearing in a black cloud.

Kagome brought a hand to her lips. He just kissed her. She couldn't help but think he was familiar. He seemed a little creepy. Something about him just wasn't right. Should she trust him? Should she tell Inuyasha and the others about him?

"Kagome!" Inuyasha yelled as he ran into the cave room. He ran to her and embraced her. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. My legs are just numb." Kagome said.

"What happened?" Sango asked.

"I don't want to talk about it here." Kagome said.

Inuyasha nodded. He picked her up and began walking out of the cave. Miroku, Sango, and Kirara followed after them. They had to break a few walls to get to Kagome. Someone had to have been there to close them off from Kagome. The question was who and why did they do it?

Inuyasha didn't stop walking until they were back to camp. They all sat down while Miroku made a fire. When the fire was made Kagome stared into the flames. "Kagome what happened?" Inuyasha asked.

Kagome explained what happened except for the kiss part. "Stay away from that guy if you see him again." Inuyasha said angrily.

"I have to agree with Inuyasha. You should stay away from him. You're miko powers have just awakened so the creepy feeling your getting from him may be a warning." Miroku said.

"I have to agree with the hentai too." Sango said.

"I plan on staying away from him." Kagome shivered.

Inuyasha didn't think that Kagome told them all that happened. She wasn't telling the whole story of what happened. He was going to find out everything if he had to tie her down and torture her.

"Kagome-chan would you like to go to the hot spring with me? It might calm your nerves." Sango asked.

"Great idea! I think we all should go!" Miroku stood quickly.

Sango held out her foot making him trip and then she hit him on the head. "Just girls!" She yelled. "Come on Kagome let's go."

Kagome stood up and followed Sango to the hot springs. Inuyasha watched as he left. "Want to go watch?" Miroku asked.

"Aren't you supposed to be a monk?" Inuyasha narrowed his eyes at the pervert.

"Of course I'm a monk but that doesn't mean I don't like the occasional peek of bathing women." Miroku said.

"Don't even think about it." Inuyasha glared murderously at the monk.

"Hai, hai." Miroku said disappointed.

Kagome and Sango both sank into the warm water with a moan. "The water feels so good." Sango moaned.

"Hai." Kagome agreed.

"Are you okay? I know I just met you but you don't seem as cheerful as you were earlier." Sango asked.

"I'm fine. Its just hard to adjust to all this. Meeting new people, traveling, memories, and things like that." Kagome sighed. "It's a lot to take in and in such a short amount of time too."

"I probably haven't had it as bad as you." Sango said. "I just joined the group. I don't know your story that well."

"It's complicated." Kagome said. "I thought things were a certain way and then one day I find out its all a lie."

"I see. What happened?" Sango asked.

Kagome told her what had happened to her since she met her. "I didn't mean to bring up bad memories." Sango said sadly.

"It's okay." Kagome said. "I'd like to get to know you better since we're traveling together."

"True. It seems like I've known you for years." Sango said.

"Same here. It seems like I've known everyone for years." Kagome said.

"Well I'm going to get out now." Sango said. "Are you coming?"

"I think I'm going to soak for a little while longer." Kagome said.

"Don't be too long." Sango said.

"I won't." Kagome said.

Sango got dressed and walked back to camp. "Where's Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"She's still at the hot spring." Sango said.

"You left her there alone?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai, I think she needs some time alone to think. From what I've seen so far you wouldn't let her stay alone anywhere. With her bathing she can be alone." Sango said emphasizing the alone part.

"Yeah right." Inuyasha grumbled and stalked off in the direction of the springs.

"Kagome's going to be mad." Sango said.

Kagome had just closed her eyes when she heard a noise. She opened her eyes, covered herself and looked towards the noise. "Who's there?" Kagome called out.

Inuyasha stepped out of the shadows and stood where he was. "Inuyasha!" Kagome turned around as her face flushed. "What are you doing here?"

"We need to talk." Inuyasha said.

"Can we do this when I'm not naked?" Kagome said angrily.

"I know there was more to the story than what you said earlier in the cave." Inuyasha said.

"What? I told you all that happened." Kagome said.

"There was more to it. I may not have known you for long but I know if your lying or not." Inuyasha said.

"Can we talk about this after I get dressed?" Kagome asked.

"I want to know what happened." Inuyasha said strictly.

Kagome sighed. He wasn't going to leave it as nothing happened and she really didn't want to sit in the water naked with him in visible range. "He kissed me before he left." She said quietly.

(I so could've ended it here but I won't.)

Without thinking Inuyasha jumped into the hot spring and turned Kagome around. She shrieked and tried to cover herself better. "What are you doing?" She yelled.

"He kissed you?" Inuyasha growled.

"Yes." Kagome nodded. She cringed, as Inuyasha's growling got louder.

Inuyasha did everything he could to keep his anger under control. Just the thought of another man looking at her drove him insane. She may not know it yet but she was his and nothing but death could change that.

He leaned over Kagome and brought his lips down on hers in a forceful kiss. That was the last thing Kagome expected but she responded anyway. The kiss was forceful but gentle. It seemed that Inuyasha was trying to seek comfort in the kiss. Soon enough she forgot she was naked in the hot springs.

Inuyasha didn't forget. His hand moved from Kagome's shoulders down to her back and rested on her waist. His movements grew bolder as his hand moved north, slowly getting closer to her breast. Kagome was still unaware of his actions.

They both pulled apart for air and Inuyasha kissed, licked, and nipped at her neck. While she was distracted in her pleasure Inuyasha continued to creep his hand from her waist to her breast.

He felt Kagome shiver as he stroked the underside of her breast with his claws. Now he knew she wasn't afraid of his claws, it was the very opposite. That's when he realized that he needed to stop. Any further and he wouldn't be able to control himself. He didn't think Kagome was ready to go any further.

With all his strength he was able to pull away. He gave her one last kiss on the lips. "Get dressed." He said.

Flushed and out of breath Kagome nodded dumbly. She waited for Inuyasha to get out of the springs until she walked out. Inuyasha still stayed where he was but had his back turned to give her some privacy.

After Kagome changed they walked back to camp. "Busy night?" Miroku asked as he noticed Inuyasha's wet clothes and Kagome's red face.

"Shut up." Inuyasha glared as a warning.

Later that night when Inuyasha's clothes were dry he wrapped his arms around Kagome's waist and under her legs and jumped into the nearest tree. He got comfortable and waited for Kagome to do the same.

Inuyasha was sitting against the tree branch with Kagome laying on top of him, chest to back. He wrapped his arms around her for warmth and lightly kissed the back of her neck.

"Oyasumi." Kagome whispered.

Inuyasha gave her one last kiss on her neck before she fell asleep. He had to tell her about the mark soon, especially if they were moving as fast as they were. What would her reaction be?
