“What is he talking about?” Kagome asked Inuyasha.

“You can discuss that later.” Sesshomaru said. “Apparently he hasn't told you yet. Follow me the castle isn't far.”

Kagome yawned again when she picked up her kimono. Inuyasha bent down in front of her, suggesting that she got on his back. As tired as she was, she climbed on. Shippo jumped up onto Inuyasha's shoulder. Miroku and Sango looked at each other and then followed Sesshomaru.

As Sesshomaru said the castle wasn't very far. They all looked at it in awe. They'd never really seen a castle, not from what they knew anyway. A large wall surrounded the castle. In the front were large iron gates.

“You live here?” Inuyasha asked.

“You did too at one time.” Sesshomaru said.

They all walked inside the castle iron gates, which were open by youkai guards. Once they were inside Sesshomaru led them upstairs. “Jaken will show you to your rooms. After breakfast tomorrow we can finish our discussion.”

“Arigato for your hospitality Sesshomaru-sama.” Kagome bowed.

Sesshomaru nodded and headed down towards the left hallway where his room was. A squirmy little green toad-looking thing with a staff came running from Sesshomaru's direction.

“Ah you must be Sesshomaru's guests along with the lost Inuyasha-sama.” Jaken said sarcastically.

“Shut up toad and show us our rooms.” Inuyasha said. He grabbed Kagome's hand. “We get the same room.”

“Follow me.” Jaken said. They walked down towards the right hallway. He stopped and pointed to a room on the right. “Here's a room for the lady.”

“Shippo stay with Sango tonight.” Inuyasha said. He growled in warning not to argue. Shippo nodded and jumped onto Sango's shoulder.

Sango nodded and walked into the room with Kirara and Shippo. “Arigato.”

“Across the hall is the Houshi's room.” Jaken pointed.

“Arigato. See the rest of you in the morning.” Miroku said and entered his room.

“Since the two of you insist on sharing a room you may use this room.” Jaken pointed to a room all the way down the hall. “It was your room when you were younger.”

“Arigato.” Kagome said to him. He nodded and hobbled away.

Inuyasha opened the door and they both looked around. His room was all red. From the flooring to the ceiling was red. His sheets were satin red he even had red curtains. There was a bed in the middle of the room against the wall. There was a bathroom door on the left of the bed. On the right side was a door to the balcony.

“You really like red.” Kagome said.

“We should go to sleep.” Inuyasha said.

“No.” Kagome crossed her arms.

“No?” Inuyasha said. “I know you're tired.”

“What's with the intended mate thing?” Kagome asked. “Sesshomaru kept looking at me when he said it so I assume it's about me.”

“Well...” Inuyasha began. He grabbed her arm and headed towards the bed. They both sat down on the bed.

Inuyasha looked at her and moved her hair back away from her shoulder. He touched the mark and sighed. “This mark means that you're mine, that I claimed you as my mate. I meant to tell you but I never got a chance.” He explained.

“So we're mated?” Kagome asked in shock.

“Its more like intended. We haven't actually mated yet so the mark right now is just saying you're taken.” Inuyasha said.

“So I don't have a choice in this? You decided it for me?” Kagome asked.

“I didn't mean to. I got carried away.” Inuyasha said. “Your scent is so intoxicating that I just blanked out and my instincts got in the way.”

Kagome touched the mark on her neck. She never really paid attention to it. She knew it was there but she figured it would go away. After a while she forgot about it. She never imagined that it would be a mating mark for Inuyasha.

“Did you want to mark me or were you too into the moment?” Kagome asked.

“I wanted to mark you.” Inuyasha said. “If things weren't so complicated I would've told you earlier.”

“I see.” Kagome said. “I need time to think about this.”

“That's fine. Do you want me to leave?” Inuyasha asked.

“No, I just don't want to talk about it right now.” Kagome said.

“Go to sleep.” Inuyasha said.

Kagome laid down and pulled the blanket over herself. “What are you going to do?” She yawned.

“Don't worry about me. Just go to sleep.” Inuyasha said.

Kagome nodded her head and soon fell asleep. As much as he hated to he got out of bed. He could smell Sesshomaru near the door and walked out of the room. “What do you want?” Inuyasha asked.

“As I thought. You didn't tell the young miko about the mark nor were you going to any time soon.” Sesshomaru said.

“There was never a good time. We've been through enough since we've `awakened' and this would've put too much weight on her shoulders.” Inuyasha explained.

“Although you were trying to be considerate, mating is not to be taken so lightly. It is a serious matter. I'm sure your aware of that. Even if you don't remember your instincts should at least fill you in on that part. Although you are a hanyou so instincts act differently on your part.” Sesshomaru said.

“Do you have a problem with me being a hanyou?” Inuyasha asked.

“No, I just bring it up because I know it irritates you.” Sesshomaru said. “When you were younger you always let it bother you, until you met Kagome, the miko who is sleeping in your bed right now. There will be time to talk about your past later. Right now I think you'd rather be with Kagome. Tomorrow we'll talk more.”

“Why'd you even call me out here?” Inuyasha asked.

“To see whether or not you'd need a room. I thought Kagome would have kicked you out.” Sesshomaru said. “She's not one to be messed with when she gets angry, or at least that's how it was when she was younger.”

Inuyasha just growled lightly and went back into the room. He laid down next to Kagome in hopes that she wouldn't reject him when she woke up.

The next morning Inuyasha and Kagome both woke to a knocking noise. Kagome was a little surprised that Inuyasha was not only lying next to her but had his arm around her waist. For some reason after last night she didn't think he would get so close. She didn't mind that he was close. She actually felt better knowing he was there.

Inuyasha growled lightly at the interruption. He was actually getting a good night of sleep. He stood up and went to the door to open it. “What?” He said rudely.

“Breakfast is ready. Here is a change of clothes for your mate. Sesshomaru-sama asked me to deliver it and wake everyone. When you are ready please wait at top of the center staircase so I can lead you to the dining room.” Jaken said.

“Why aren't there a change of clothes for me?” Inuyasha asked.

“Sesshomaru-sama said that if he knew you then you wouldn't want to change clothing.” Jaken informed him.

“He's right.” Inuyasha rudely thanked him and shut the door. For some reason Jaken bothered him.

“Who was that?” Kagome asked.

“Jaken. He said breakfast is ready and gave me some clothes for you.” Inuyasha said as he handed her the kimono.

“Arigato.” Kagome said. She stood up to go into the bathroom to change.

When Kagome came out a couple minutes later Inuyasha's draw almost dropped. The kimono was red and white. The top right sleeve and chest area was red along with the bottom left part. The left right sleeve and the bottom left were white. The bow that held it together was white. In her hands was his haori.

She walked up to Inuyasha and turned around. “Can you straighten the bow?” She asked.

Inuyasha fixed the bow as best as he could. Being a male he didn't know much about women's clothing. When he was done he placed his hands on her shoulder and leaned forward to her ear. “You look beautiful.” He whispered.

Kagome shivered and turned around. “Arigato.” She said shyly, a blush covered her cheeks. She handed him his haori.

“Let's go. I'm sure your hungry.” Inuyasha said as he put his shirt back on. He led the way out of the room.

They both walked to the staircase and saw that Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kirara were there. “Ah we've been waiting for you.” Miroku said.

“It's about time.” Jaken said. “Follow me to the dining room.”

“Sango you look nice in that kimono.” Kagome complimented her. Shippo then jumped into her arms.

Sango's kimono was similar to Kagome's. It was nothing like the yukata's she wore before. It showed off her figure. It was green and white in the same style as Kagome's. The bow was green. “Arigato Kagome. You look nice in yours.” Sango replied.

“Why is it that I got slapped for saying that you looked nice?” Miroku asked Sango.

“Because she didn't grope me when she said it.” Sango said angrily.

“May I please just direct you to the dining room?” Jaken said impatiently.

“Please do.” Kagome said. “Gomen.”

Jaken led them downstairs and to the right hallway. About halfway down the hallway he stopped and turned to his right. He opened the doors in front of him and stood to the side. “This is the dining room. Sesshomaru-sama will join you shortly.” Jaken said and hobbled away.

They all walked into the dining room and sat down. Kagome, Inuyasha, and Shippo sat across from Sango, Miroku, and Kirara. They patiently waited for Sesshomaru to join them.

For some reason they all felt a sense of déjà vu sitting there. Out of nowhere, without any warning at all an all too familiar white flash was seen.

*********Memory*********

In the forest Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, and Sango were all walking towards the castle. “I've never seen a castle before.” Kagome said. “Do you have fun there?”

“No, Sesshomaru's always busy and there's no one around.” Inuyasha said.

“Is that why you always come out to visit us?” Kagome asked.

“Keh.” Inuyasha crossed his arms.

They all finally made it to the castle and walked inside. They all stared in awe. When they entered the castle a green toad thing walked up to them. “Tell Sesshomaru that we're here.” Inuyasha said rudely.

“Hai.” Jaken said and then mumbled something about a brat prince.

A couple minutes later Sesshomaru came into view. “You've finally arrived.” He said.

“Someone was late.” Inuyasha said.

“Gomen.” Kagome said. “I woke up late.”

“No matter. I'm sure you are all hungry.” Sesshomaru said. “Follow me and we'll have lunch.”

Everyone gasped at the memory. They sat in silence for a couple of minutes. Kagome was the first to speak up. “Your brother hasn't changed much.”

“He's still emotionless and cold.” Inuyasha said.

“If you're to talk about someone do it while they're gone.” Sesshomaru entered the room and sat at the head of the table.

“Gomen.” Kagome said.

“It wasn't you that said it.” Sesshomaru looked at Inuyasha. “Let's eat our meal so we can talk.”

Hope you like this chapter. I'm glad that in the reviews so far there are no complaints about Sesshomaru's OOC. I do like him better this way. Not too nice but not on a mission to kill Inuyasha either. I'm glad that some of you prefer Sesshomaru to be this way. Rin will be introduced soon so any questions about her will be answered shortly.
