The next morning everyone woke up and met in the dining room for breakfast. They were going to have one last meal before Inuyasha and his companions left for a visit to their families.

 

Sesshomaru and Rin both walked them to the castle gate, seeing them off. The all waved goodbye before leaving. Sesshomaru had been kind enough to give them some things for their journey.

 

Inuyasha guessed that it would take about four days to get to Sango's village and another day from Sango's village to get to Kagome's village. They would probably spend the night at Sango's village and the same or more at Kagome's. Hopefully Inuyasha would be able to get Kagome alone.

Finally after four tiring, non-stop moving, and arguing was over. They had finally reached Sango's village. It had taken them forever. If Sango wasn't so happy to be back home she probably would've collapsed instead of ran to see her family.

 

Inuyasha had been in a bad mood since they left. Any moment he could've had with Kagome was always interrupted. Whether he wanted to talk to her or take a simple walk. Someone interrupted. First it was the annoying kitsune brat, then it was the perverted monk, then after a while Sango interrupted with her bathing habits.

 

The frustration was more than enough for Inuyasha. Kagome, being the sometimes naïve person she is, never got the hint that Inuyasha wanted to spend time with her. Of course Inuyasha's stubbornness would never allow him to tell her what his problem was.

 

To vent out that frustration he took it out on everyone. He kept everyone moving at any moment. If it wasn't dark and they weren't eating they were walking. He used the threat that he would leave them if they didn't move faster. Of course they had to keep going since they didn't know where they were.

 

The rest of the gang followed Sango into her village. They had to run to keep up with her. She ran all the way to her hut and hugged her brother, who was the first of the family she saw.

 

“Ah Sango your back?” He asked as he returned the hug.

 

“No, I just came to visit. Things aren't as cleared up as we'd like.” Sango said. “Is Otou-san around?”

 

“Hai, he's out back, taking a break from his training.” Kohaku said.

 

“Arigato.” Sango said. “Do you guys mind waiting here?”

 

“No.” Kagome said. “Go ahead.”

 

“Kohaku please show them to the extra hut so they can relax.” Sango said.

 

“Hai.” Kohaku said. “Follow me.”

 

They walked to a hut near the one they were at. It was beside the other hut. They all sat down to rest. “Arigato Kohaku.” Kagome smiled.

 

“It was nothing.” Kohaku blushed. “Do you need anything?”

 

“No, thanks.” Kagome said.

 

As soon as Kohaku left Kagome fell backwards onto the floor and sighed. It felt so good to be able to relax. She suddenly felt like something bad was going to happen. She sat up but was quickly knocked back down.

 

“Watch out!” Someone shouted.

 

Suddenly the roof of the hut was sliced open and there was no roof. The wood crashed down onto those who were inside.

 

“Is everybody okay?” Kohaku asked.

 

Kagome looked up to see Inuyasha over her with his hands holding his weight. He shielded her from the wood that fell on top of them. “Inuyasha?” She whispered.

 

He just smirked at her before moving the wood off of his back. He stood up and reached out a hand to help Kagome stand. Before she could thank him a roar was heard behind them. A tiger youkai had attacked them.

 

“Everyone prepare yourselves!” Sango's Otou-san ordered.

 

“I can take it.” Sango said.

 

“Your sure?” Her Otou-san asked.

 

“Hai, I haven't slayed a youkai in a long time.” Sango said.

 

“Go ahead then.” Her Otou-san said. He motioned for the others to stand back but be prepared.

 

Sango stood in front of everyone. She took hiraikotsu off of her back and swung it at the youkai. Within seconds before the youkai could react it was sliced in half. The slayers behind her all cheered in her victory.

 

“Amazing.” Miroku said. “I've actually never seen her fight before. Her skills must be great.”

 

“Of course. Aside from Otou-san she's the best slayer in the whole village.” Kohaku said.

 

“What happened?” Kagome asked.

 

“Our village is often attacked. It is well known for being one of the best tajiya villages. Many youkai try to eliminate us in fear. We're always ready. This time my arrival took many people off guard. By the time the youkai jumped over the wall he swung his tail and knocked the roof to the hut down. Is everyone alright?” Sango asked.

 

“Hai. Inuyasha shielded me from the wood.” Kagome said. “Are you alright?”

 

“Keh, like that is going to hurt me.” Inuyasha crossed his arms.

 

Kagome rolled her eyes. “Miroku are you hurt?” She asked.

 

“I'm fine. Luckily the roof collapsed away from me.” Miroku said. “Ah Sango your fighting skills are great!”

 

Sango blushed. “Arigato.” She said. “Come on, I'll find you guys another place to rest.”

 

“Arigato Sango.” Kagome said. “What's going to happen to the hut and all the damages?”

 

“There's a designated clean up crew. The hut will be repaired soon.” Sango said. They walked a little further than Sango's hut. “Here, you may use this hut. It's vacant for those who have traveled far to hire us.”

 

“Arigato.” Miroku said. He walked closer to her. “I would like to see more of your skills if you don't mind.”

 

“Not a chance hentai.” Sango narrowed her eyes at him and slapped him for groping her.

 

“How long did you want to stay here?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“Just the night. If that's fine with everyone.” Sango said.

 

“I don't mind. I could use the rest.” Kagome said. “Where's Shippo?”

 

“He's waiting outside of the village walls.” Inuyasha said.

 

“What? Why? I thought he was with you.” Kagome said.

 

“He doesn't want to come into a tajiya village. He's scared.” Inuyasha said.

 

“I'm going to go get him.” Kagome walked out of the hut. “We can't leave him there until tomorrow.”

 

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. “He'll be fine.” He said. He was mad at the runt for the interruptions. His punishment should be to stay alone, Inuyasha thought.

 

“I don't want to leave him.” Kagome walked out of the village and into the forest. “Shippo!”

 

“What?” Shippo asked as he climbed down a tree.

 

“Come into the village with us.” Kagome said. She held out her arms for him to jump in.

 

“I don't want to.” Shippo said. “They'll try to kill me.”

 

“Not if you're with me. They haven't killed Inuyasha.” Kagome said.

 

“Oi, they couldn't kill me if they wanted to.” Inuyasha muttered.

 

“I thought you said Shippo would be fine.” Kagome said.

 

“He will.”

 

“Then why are you out here?” Kagome asked.

 

“Because there was a youkai attack. You don't need to be walking around alone.” Inuyasha said. Even if he was mad, he wasn't going to put Kagome in danger because of it.

 

“Come on Shippo. They won't do anything I promise.” Kagome smiled.

 

“Alright.” Shippo caved in. He ran over to Kagome and jumped into her arms.

 

“Baby.” Inuyasha whispered low enough for Shippo to hear.

 

Shippo just turned around and stuck his tongue out at him.

 

“Why you little-” Inuyasha shook his fist in anger.

 

“Come on Inuyasha. I want to rest.” Kagome waited for him to catch up before going back to the village.

 

“Yeah yeah.” Inuyasha walked beside her.

When they got back to the hut Sango, Her Otou-san, her brother, and Miroku were waiting inside the hut. Kagome, Inuyasha, and Shippo joined them. “So how has your adventure gone so far?” Her Otou-san asked.

 

Sango sighed before telling the long story.

 

“Ah so I see.” Her Otou-san said after hearing the story. “So things have been troubling. Don't worry. With your strong will you'll do fine.”

 

“Arigato.” Sango blushed. She wasn't used to getting compliments.

 

“So Houshi-sama, have you been keeping your hands off of my daughter?”

 

“Of course. I'm a humble houshi who wishes nothing but the best for everyone.” Miroku said in a straight voice.

 

Everyone was shocked that he had lied and with such a straight face. None of them had the coherency to accuse him of his lie. Sango snapped out of her stupor first. “Well it will take a while to find out what's going on. I don't know how much longer we'll be traveling.” She said.

 

“I understand. You do what you must. Do come visit once in a while though.” Her Otou-san said. “When do you leave?”

 

“Tomorrow morning. It will take us a while to get to Kagome's village and then an even longer time to get to Sesshomaru's castle.” Sango said.

 

“Ah I see. Well at least go around and see the villagers. They've missed you and your fighting skills. For the rest of you, you may walk around the village if you like. This hut is yours to stay in while you're here. I'll have some futons and blankets brought in for you all.” He said.

 

“Arigato for your hospitality.” Kagome said.

 

“We appreciate your help.” Miroku said.

 

“Rest well.” He said before leaving the hut.

 

“I'll do as Otou-san said and go see the villagers. I'll be back for dinner.” Sango said before she left the hut.

 

“I can't believe you lied to Sango's Otou-san.” Shippo said to Miroku.

 

“It's not a lie.” Miroku said.

 

“It is too.” Inuyasha added. “You know it.”

 

“I can't believe you said it with a straight face.” Kagome shook her head.

 

“I am skilled.” Miroku said.

 

“Then you admit it! You lied!” Shippo argued.

 

“I assure you it is no lie.” Miroku held up his hands in defense.

 

“You can't say that when we've been traveling with you for so long. We know how you act lecher!” Inuyasha said.

 

“I am offended by your words Inuyasha. I can't believe you would accuse me of such a thing!” Miroku said. “If you insist on accusing me of such horrible actions then I shall leave.”

 

After Miroku left the hut, Inuyasha, Kagome, and Shippo shook their heads.

Hope you like this chapter. It took a little longer than usual to get out but not as long as usual. This chapter was more of a filler I guess. Kind of boring but needed to be written. For my sake anyway. Let me know what you think. Ja ne!

I don't mind if people like to leave constructive critism but please try not to be so rude about it. It really makes me angry when people flame me. And about the spelling of the chatarcter's names, its really hard to romanize Japanese. If you haven't noticed the languages are very different and so not everything is going to be spelled correctly or the same all the time. There is no perfect way to translate the Japanese characters into words. Please don't call me names. I'm taking the time to write for your entertainment. If you can't be civil and mature then don't review. It's not that hard to be kind when reviewing. From what I remember Kouga is spelled Kouga not Koga. What does it matter if you know who it is I'm talking about. Sorry for ranting but I thought I'd say that now. I've been in a bad mood and the review I got about this did not make me happy at all. I almost considered for a moment to just stop writing fics altogether. I'm not going to stop because I have many fans right now that actually leave nice and encouraging reviews! I don't need to be called stupid after being corrected for a supposed spelling error. If you really think Kouga is spelled Koga then a lot of people have gotten it wrong. The only time I've ever seen Kouga spelled that way is in the American dialogue of the anime. Most animes when translated pronounce and spell half the names wrong anyway. Sorry for the babbling.
