Chapter 6:The Years Beyond And The Meeting Of Destiny

-Two years later-

The sun was just beginning to set on another peaceful day. Sesshomaru was sitting reading a book while Rin played in the garden when a giant slam could be heard echoing the halls. Sesshomaru sighed as he closed his book. She could be so loud sometimes, he thought.

“Loud as usual, Kitty.” Sesshomaru said calmly. Another slam could be heard as Kagome opened the door to the room he was in and also slammed it with enough force to crack it. Knowing that she had heard his comment she scoffed. “Not my fault that I got demon guts all over my new outfit, nya.” Kagome’s ear twitched as she heard Sesshomaru try to stifle a snort.

Sesshomaru knew when Kagome was mad she made that “nya” noise, but after all these years he couldn’t help but find that noise unfitting to her character, and let out a snort as Kagome’s cheeks went red in embarrassment and also anger. He flawlessly dodged the book Kagome had picked up from the floor and threw at him.

“You know I don’t like being called that, Fluffy,” Kagome sneered. Sesshomaru frowned, he didn’t like being called that.
“Fine then, anyway, welcome back, Lady Kagome,” Sesshomaru said.
“It’s good to be back, anyway I killed three ogres, decapitated two bird demons, and chopped down four trees.” Kagome said with a smile. Sesshomaru prayed that it wasn’t his trees that she cut down.

“Good, then does that mean the final touches of your demonic powers are complete?” He asked.
“Yeah I guess so. I guess I don’t need to stay anymore do I?” Kagome said.
“You may stay as long as you need.” He replied. Kagome smiled, “I must give you my thanks for taking care of me for the past two years, I owe it to you that these new powers do not go to waste.” Kagome bowed.

Sesshomaru gave the smallest of smiles that only she could see, “Don’t worry, Rin is now a master archer thanks to your service.”
“All right, I’m off then,” Kagome said as she turned around, her tail moving from side to side, and walked out of the room to change.

With her new wardrobe on, she made to leave the castle. She turned around once more looking at it before she bound into the forest. Kagome leapt from tree to tree in silence, only moving a few leaves. Kagome ran through the trees for hours without break, with her new powers she didn’t need to stop as much.

Kagome frowned, she could smell them nearby. Over the years her opinion on InuYasha changed from trustworthy friend to the soil in Kikyo’s dirty mouth. Every night, just before she went to sleep, she could feel InuYasha’s hate for her. He cursed her name every night, she could feel it from miles upon miles away. It was a painful feeling at first. But as time went on Kagome couldn’t help but make the feeling mutual. Now it was embraced with the same blanket feeling of hatred back.

Smelling them even more Kagome slowed her pace until she made a complete stop. They were very close now, looking to the sky it was already past dark. They must be camping out somewhere in these woods, she thought. Kagome then made her slow approach to them with a smirk.

“Time for my revenge.”

Minutes later she sat in a tree, high above her ex-camp. She saw them all: Shippo next to Kirara, Sango next to Miroku, and even the slut next to InuYasha. Kagome scowled.
“So he took the slut with him? What a man whore.” She said to herself.

With the gang

“What its been…three weeks and still no shards? What the hell?!” InuYasha yelled. “It’s not my fault I don’t sense any,” Kikyo replied. “Come, come, there’s no need to fight about it.” Miroku came in. Sango and Shippo still didn’t say anything. that’s when InuYasha stood up and started to sniff around.

“Show yourself bitch!” InuYasha yelled up to the tress. “I thought it would take for ever to notice me?” Came the reply in an icy tone. “I said show yourself!” He yelled again. “I cant believe you don’t even recognize me, I’m quite hurt.” InuYasha could feel the smirk the demon was sporting somewhere around them.
“I don’t care! Just show yourself or I’ll rip you in half asshole!”

The demon began to mock him, “Tsk, tsk, such harsh language InuYasha, don’t you know you have a child in your possession hearing this?”
“How the hell do you know my name?” He asked.

Kagome high up in the trees face palmed, “Are you stupid? We’ve met before of coarse I know you name.” InuYasha growled and lunged to the tree he thought she was in. when InuYasha made it back to the ground Kagome swiftly came down from the other tree she was in and landed behind him.

She tapped his shoulder.

InuYasha swung around to see that the demon was actually a half demon, just like him. She wore a light blue kimono that hugged her curves. InuYasha gasped as he finally recognized who she finally was. He thought he would never see her again, her face, her eyes, her smile, which was in a smirk right now. But he never thought she’d come back to him as someone who was just like him, well not really, he corrected himself, she was a cat demon, or at least half.

His mind was trapped in a blank of amazement. The only thing his mind would let him say was,
“Kagome?”

Kagome looked him in the eye and said, “In the flesh.”

She then grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground. Every one gasped.
